Facetune 2, on the other hand, feels like nothing more than a money-making scheme. Almost all of the useful features are locked behind a subscription, with the developers seemingly hoping users will be willing to pay every single month and in this economy and inflation it is simply just not realistic or possible. It preys on insecurities to make you spend so much money which you can’t even complete in a one off payment. Instead, users are expected to essentially rent access to an app they could previously purchase outright and may i add not a cheap rent - it’s more expensive than a gym membership weekly. This feels greedy and disrespectful to the people who supported and loved the original Facetune. It’s also incredibly misleading when your responses to reviews repeatedly claim that Facetune 2 is “free.” Yes, downloading the app is free, but you can barely use any of its worthwhile features without paying. If you want apps that have more tools available, I recommend FaceApp or Body Tune Editor. What’s the point of being able to enhance, edit and photoshop if the app automatically darkens the images. I pay $60 a year for a subscription to edit my photos only for it to darken it from the original photos. Make it make sense. Even with trying to edit it back on apple edits I still can never bring the colors back to the original photo. ### 1/5 — Scan *2026-08-23, version 26.26* I purchased basic FaceTune in 2020, however now that they are doing subscription service I have fully lost my access to the apps benefits I was under the impression I bought the rights to utilize. I think it’s incredibly scammy that they did not grandfather in app “owners” you basically sold me an app and then years later took away my rights on the app and is now trying to rent it back to me.
