### 4/5 — Very slow to load

*2023-08-18*

I’ve used FactStream for many years. But for the last year it’s load time has greatly increased. And scrolling from screen to screen sometimes takes several minutes.

### 4/5 — Fantastic source, but load times

*2023-04-10*

I found this to be a great resource for a fact checking. Regularly sites, sources and often times will take the same quote and read it from different sources. Anyone who thinks they have a bias either way is only looking to hear good things about the people they like. They fact checks quotes by both sides. It tends to go after quotes that are blatantly false or half true instead of rating the ones that are true but I guess if a quote is completely true, then we don’t really NEED a rating do we?

### 4/5 — Great resource, but it has some annoying quirks

*2023-01-26, version 2.5.1*

My first gripe is that despite Mediacom's blazing download speed—Speedtest shows close to 400 mbps—it takes an incredibly long time to load on my iPad, far slower than any other app I have.

Navigation is sometimes quirky. I have to scroll all the way to the top to find a Back button, which seems a odd page design choice. [see edit]

That said, the information is well-sourced, usually quite timely, and links are provided for further reading. I’m often made aware of anti-vax nuttery that my friends who combat said nuttery haven’t seen yet. Indispensable for any critical thinker.

EDIT: I decided to delete and reinstall the app to see if that would speed up the loading. I seems to have, but the Back button has disappeared. Not a happy trade off.

### 2/5 — Improvement Suggestion

*2021-09-16*

Broaden the base to INTERNATIONAL COVERAGE?

### 3/5 — Unfriendly Search feature

*2020-10-30, version 2.3.0.9*

Although I use this app, I find a desire to search more precisely than available. Currently a name and timeframe without a subject or quote, is all that is available. Some contextual word search is needed or the search time is unduly long.

### 4/5 — Great App but could be better

*2020-09-16, version 2.2.11.3*

This really is a great app for fact checking. My one complaint is one of the sources is the Washington Post and you need to subscribe to the Post to read the fact check.

### 3/5 — Great app when it is working.

*2020-06-07, version 2.2.7*

The app is great but doesn’t update with the latest news always. My current fact is over 2 days old and I can’t search anything more recent. And Trump is tweeting so I know there should be a lot of recent fact checks going on.

### 2/5 — Stops updating

*2020-04-10, version 2.2.7*

Today is April 9th. The newest checks on the home screen are from April 3rd. This happens constantly. If I want to see the latest, I have to delete and reinstall the app.
Forget trying to use the search. I can read a fact check and then go into search and try to find that exact same check I was just reading without success. It doesn’t show up in the search.
I love the content, but the app is of little use when it just stops updating and won’t let you find checks you haven’t saved even though you were just reading them.
A website that actually kept up to date and had a functioning search mechanism would be far more useful than this barely functioning app.
Love the content. Hate the app.

### 5/5 — I Like It, But....

*2020-03-12, version 2.2.7*

The app seems to be frozen on October 9th on iPad and isn’t working at all on iPhone. That’s not good, especially now.

Edit: Thanks for the fix! That was fast.

### 2/5 — When it works

*2020-02-19, version 2.2.7*

Clicking on one link pulls up a completely different fact check. Also if clicking a link should take you to the details instead of to another page that contains no addition information requiring you to click on another link to actually get to the details.

### 3/5 — Doesn’t stay updated.

*2020-02-05, version 2.2.7*

I really like the information on this app, however, it doesn’t update and when I refresh the app it doesn’t refresh and sometimes the screen is blank.

### 4/5 — Love this concept

*2020-01-14, version 2.2.7*

My ONLY complaint is that, sometimes, when I open the app, everything is just blank. I have to close & reopen, sometimes multiple times, for the headlines to appear. Other than that, with what’s going on in our government, this app is so necessary and helpful. I really love it & appreciate it.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t update

*2019-12-10, version 2.2.7*

I like the fact checks, but on the 10th when I pull down to refresh from the 3rd, all I get is the information from the 3rd. If the app would actually refresh, so I can get up to date information, I’d give it 5 stars, but right now it’s just frustrating.

### 5/5 — Reality tends to take a liberal bias

*2019-11-05, version 2.2.7*

I love reading the posts from the upset conservatives. This app is unbiased just like NPR. Each post has an article attached with proof and sources as to why something is true or not. If you are a conservative griping about all the falsehoods in your side of the woods, it isn’t due to bias. It’s due to the Republican Party being a joke now, full of fake news and conspiracy theories. Shut up and do some research before complaining. Reality tends to take a liberal bias.

### 4/5 — Desperately needs preferences

*2019-10-18, version 2.2.7*

This app is great, except it keeps using news sources that put the user on a paywall. It needs preferences to filter out stuff the user won’t be able to read anyway.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2023-06-04*

This is NOT an unbiased fact checking app by any stretch of imagination. The “facts” come from completely biased left wing, and in many cases radical left wing, news sources. Bottom line if it doesn’t go along with left wing agendas it is labeled as mis and dis information even if it’s true or at least very very likely to be true. The app calls these flat out lies and half truths. This is typical and cheating is a staple of left wing politics these days. When unrefutable evidence is shown in favor of right wing politics it is ignored and just simply not reported on in the fake news media. The only truth comes from the mouths of morally grounded individuals not fantasy world truth deniers like 99% of the left wing. If u are bases then get far away from this propaganda app for the extreme left

### 1/5 — Propaganda

*2022-01-26, version 2.5.1*

Liberal wolf in sheep’s clothing !!!! What ah big pile of Left wing propaganda They threw in ah couple of fact check’s on are former President Trump, too make it look like they are being fair, but the main stream press told sooooo many Lies about President Trump, that you should have 5k+ fact checks on ALL the fake news y’all spread about President Trump

### 1/5 — 👎🏾

*2021-01-09*

This is a crooked democratic fact finder.

### 1/5 — Oh Biden

*2020-07-20*

You guys are false facts

### 1/5 — Not that factual

*2020-07-07, version 2.2.8*

Don’t believe everything this app tells you. I was sad to see that it is very leftish. I am Independent so I look and both side. But this app only says false on Republicans and post very little about Democrats. For every 10 Republican fact checks there is one Democrat fact check and that is so they can make the Democrats look like they are being truthful. I hope to find a REAL fact check app. This one is a joke...

### 1/5 — Manager Retired

*2019-10-11, version 2.2.7*

This is the most leftist and left leaning fact checker EVER!!! The majority of the posts slurs President Trump without fail. There’s very very few Democratic statements, therefore it drives a left narrative almost without failing. I vote for the person, not on an inaccurate site like this. I realize that Politico has verified these “facts”. So I’ll use them or another venue. Sorry I must have failed to read the fine print I guess???

### 1/5 — Not convince

*2019-07-25, version 2.2.7*

My daughter told me her teacher uses this app, so I decided to give it a try thinking it would be a good way to fact check things. I turns out to my opinion this app might run by liberals. Most the conservatives information is alway false or mostly false. But everything said about Clinton and Obama is good and true. My daughter’s teachers are liberals I guess this app is good for them. I will keep monitoring this app to make sure the teachers are poisoning the students minds.

### 1/5 — Factstream does not cover full spectrum of political ideology

*2019-03-29, version 2.2.6*

FactStream appears to have significant bias on who they report. Most off their fact checks are negative responses to moderate conservative ideals. Just another media outlet for liberal agendas. I support the rights of all people’s including those wishing to become citizens of the USA, the LGBT community and the protection of the unborn. FactStream does not give fair coverage across the political/ideology spectrum.

### 1/5 — Nice try, but failed during the SOTU

*2019-02-06, version 2.2.6*

This app looked promising. However, despite offering live fact checking during the 2019 State of the Union speech, the app streamed two checks in the first few minutes and nothing more.

Maybe this app was too new, and not adequately debugged in advance of the speech.

For the time being I have removed this app from my iPad, and will use Twitter, Google, and major news sources to check claims of interest to me.

### 1/5 — Another Trump basher

*2018-01-31, version 1.21*

Typical news stream that doesn’t like Trump. Negative negative negative to read and attempting to down play ANY successes of the President’s accomplishments. Just another avenue to keep the American people in disapproval and angry. Delete or don’t download and just watch CNN for your “news” coverage and highly OPINIONATED presentation of what they want the people to hear. They talk of cherry picking for his successes when those that oppose him are the professionals at doing that.

### 5/5 — When facts matter!

*2024-09-30*

This powerful little program gives me so much information at my fingertips. I don’t know how I’ve lived without it! FactStream concisely pulls information from several fact checking sites and presents them for my use in short form.

I don’t know how I’ve gotten along with it all thjs time but I’m glad I have it now. This is an excellent app. I wish I had it sooner!

### 5/5 — I love this app!

*2024-08-21*

At your fingertips, an app which combines all of the best fact checkers in one place. Rather than opening a single fact check site, I open the app and have multiple opinions in one place! Very fast, very handy!

### 5/5 — Easy and straightforward. Will help Ignorant people get informed

*2024-08-05*

Earlier this year, I was a very very ignorant and uneducated voter. I recently stumbled upon TikTok debates and it sparked an unexpected interest in economics and politics.

I realized I was very biased by the media I’ve consumed and never actually did ANY RESEARCH of my own. Despite this realization, I still had no idea where to start.

I first tried googling claims made in the debates, however if you’re uninformed like me, you will still not understand how to research and read data and will have no idea what sources are legitimate and not biased.

I started going to .gov sites for data but that is also hard to dissect and oftentimes can be misread depending on if you’re looking at specific data or specific time frames.

I thought, wouldn’t it be nice if there was a non biased app where it fact checked claims and data? I was right. It’s wonderful and this app makes it so easy to fact check and also get much needed context. If you are uninformed, this app will make it easy to get your facts and make informed decisions. Let’s be smart together and vote wisely! Our votes matter and will effect our parents, us and our future generations.

Easy of use: 10/10
Reliability: 10/10
Context: 10/10

### 5/5 — Great app

*2020-12-21, version 2.3.2*

This is a great app for fact checking. I have been using this site for around a year now and I am impressed. They only use reliable sources and I would say they don’t really have a bias I use this app a lot along with others and they are on point with there reporting.

### 5/5 — Read it - believe it

*2020-11-06, version 2.3.0.9*

Makes it clear what is being reported and provides both a good analysis and details and a easily understood summary. Get it.

### 5/5 — Best overall

*2020-09-15, version 2.2.11.3*

This can be overwhelming because you see the mass bombardment of bs into all the media platforms

Shows all the lies, guess who’s the King?

### 5/5 — How To Sift Through The News

*2020-09-13, version 2.2.11.3*

I am a huge news junkie! I ran across this app searching for news apps in the App Store. I’m happy I downloaded this app! This app fact checks most information on social media especially currently pertaining to politics. I have seeing where this app will show Democrats as well as Republicans speaking untruths. It appears to me to be very unbiased.

### 5/5 — Useful for anyone tired of being deceived

*2020-09-11, version 2.2.11.3*

This is a great app for anyone who’s tired of being lied to, having the truth distorted, and want to get their facts straight before spouting off. Five stars.

### 5/5 — Amazing App

*2020-09-09, version 2.2.11.3*

Everyone needs this in their life. Great way to get fact checks and reliable info from multiple sources.

### 5/5 — Vital and succinct

*2020-08-26, version 2.2.10.1*

Facts matter, especially now. So much misinformation and disinformation is promulgated on a daily basis, especially in an election year, and it’s impossible to keep up with it all, let alone check it all for ourselves. This is an excellent and efficient way of keeping up with what’s being claimed by politicians, groups, conspiracy theorists, and social media posts, sorting what’s true, false, misleading or incomplete. Instead of relying on a single organization or getting multiple newsletters and so on, you can get a picture in moments, across the spectrum of political discourse, from the various reputable fact checkers who monitor it, consolidated in one place. You control what notifications you receive: getting all fact check bulletins as they come in, only the most egregious lies, or read a summary by date. You can skim across the top of the ratings, get a quick summary of any given claim, or delve deeper into why it gets the rating it gets from the fact checking source, and all sources are transparent.
