## What is Fadeo?

Nothing appears when you press the shutter.

A blank sheet slides out. Around twelve seconds in, faint shapes begin to surface. By two minutes it reads like a black-and-white photograph. Color arrives much later. The picture is finished after ten minutes.

The waiting is the whole app.


■ Shape first, color last

The development follows the order real instant film does. Brightness, contrast and saturation each rise at their own pace, so there is a long stretch in the middle where the photo looks like monochrome. That stretch is the best part.


■ Six films

Classic — teal shadows, cream highlights. The default.
Crisp — smooth and clean. The least grain.
Cold — bluer shadows, stronger contrast.
Faded — colors washed out with age. Light blooms wide.
Mono — a silver print: cool shadows, warm highlights.
Night — high-speed. Rough, with glowing light.

You pick before the shot. The viewfinder shows that film as it is.


■ Eight shots per pack

When the pack runs out you load a new one. It's free. But a limit of eight makes you stop shooting carelessly.


■ Shake it if you can't wait

It speeds up a little. You can't skip it.


■ No account, no server

There is no sign-up. Photos stay on your device and are never sent anywhere. No ads, no subscription.

You get a notification when developing finishes. The clock keeps running with the app closed.


■ Saved with the paper

The white border, the bottom margin, and the date printed on it — all of it saves and shares together.

### 1.3 — 2026-09-09

Pick the film when you shoot.

Tap the film chip below the viewfinder and six swatches unfold, each one the scene you're looking at rendered through that film. Pick one and it folds away. Packs only count shots now — changing film never throws away what's left.

Load a new pack from the counter at the top right. It warns you only when there are shots left to lose.

And you can get closer.

Pinch the viewfinder to zoom, up to 5×. What you frame is what you get. Tap the magnification to go back to 1×.

- The album button shows your latest photo, mid-development if it's still developing.
- In 1:1 the viewfinder sits centered on the screen.

### 1.2 — 2026-09-03

Film now comes in packs.

You choose the film when you load a pack, and all eight shots use it — the way a real camera works. The camera screen is quieter for it.

Watch it develop from your Lock Screen.

After a shot, the sheet sits on your Lock Screen with the time it will be ready, and tells you when it is. There's a Home Screen widget too.

Two new films.

Mono — silver print with cool shadows and warm highlights.
Night — high speed. Grainy, and the light blooms.

All six films look more like real film now. Highlights bloom red (halation), silver grain settles in, and the developer softens every edge. These are the things that actually happen on instant film.

The viewfinder also wakes up faster when you open the app.
