Also enjoy syndicated essays from George Will, Rich Lowery, and Victor Davis Hanson. Local scoreboard including sports results from all high schools and junior highs would be great, as well as schedules for games. Less about teacher and admin, more about our young people.what are they learning. Many times in the past I would walk down to the mailbox and the paper hadn’t shown up yet. Very frustrating! Now it’s always online and available for reading wherever I am (in Fairbanks or not). I like being able to email or text articles to myself or others easily. Worst ever. When the e-edition finally appears, you invariably end up on a blank page & have to start over if you change the page or enlarge an article. Also great to use the archive function to look up things from the past. Navigation for the e-edition is improved, and many of the glitches that took away from reading the paper are gone. And those triangles in the corners are extremely annoying and unnecessary. Please take it back to the old version. I hate to give a whole star. ### 1/5 — New 2022 version has problems *2022-03-02, version 132.1* Been using the FDNM app for several years without any major issues. Much preferred over a paper copy. Article view was great where you tap the article you want to read from an image of the page and read a text version in the main window. You would get the entire article without having to find the page where it continues to read the rest of it. Well, that no longer works. The replica view works fine where you scroll around a page like you’re reading the real thing, but when it continues on page 6 or something, you have to go find that page to continue reading. There is a live article view but it doesn’t work. Go to a page and you might see the first article in the main text area. Or you might see all articles from that page. Or you might see none. The articles are marked with a tinted triangle in a corner, but try tapping an article and nothing happens. This extremely frustrating. It’s like they didn’t even test this thing. As of 1 March 2022 the old app no longer works so we have to use this new one. Just wish they got it working first. ### 1/5 — New app update *2022-02-18, version 132.1* Do not like the update. I deleted and reinstalled, and not it crashes when I try to enter my account information. Categories are all over the place and it's difficult, if not impossible, to read anything all the way through without it closing on its own. It's look reminds me of the way the internet used to be before it gained popularity: boxy, large, very fussy and not very user-friendly. I hope the subscription service is better quality, but I'm not going to slap down any money until I hear about and see the actual app. Then, even if I pay, I might dump it all if the paid version is as glitchy as the free application. ### 3/5 — Generally a Good App *2021-07-11, version 3.3.14* App meets most all expectations. One aspect which needs immediate reinstatement is the news page advance button. It was eliminated, during the app update, except when the screen was touched to show the button. It opens relatively quickly and navigating is easy. There is a minimum of glitchiness and random jumping around like some sites. If I do want to click on the reader version of the article, it loads quickly and is easy to revert back to the newspaper version.
