## What is FairTalk?

Everyone gets manipulated from time to time, and we only realize it too late. Wrong decisions are taken everyday, based on flawed arguments. The goal of this application is to help you spot those troublesome arguments often used by the media and especially politicians.

Whenever an argument you hear doesn't quite sound right, drill down through the list of fallacies, starting from either informal or formal ones, to find out which error is being made. If you think you can't be fooled with, try the 10-question quiz. You also have a full map of reasoning mistakes we all make everyday.

With enough interest, the application will eventually have more quiz questions added.

### 3/5 — Good app

*2010-04-20*

It is good up to a point. Please add more term definitions and more quizzes. Ability to review progress to monitor improvement of understanding of fallacies would be helpful.
Lots of potential. Thanks, I have been looking for a app to exercise critical thinking.

### 5/5 — Fascinating content in a disappointing interface

*2009-10-10*

Somehow, I was hoping to be able to answer a series of simple questions about something I'm hearing and then have it tell me what type of fallacy it is and a little more information about it. This app is really just a hierarchically organized e-book. Nevertheless, I enjoyed reading it and I'll probably keep it on my iPhone permanently. It's fun to read in little chunks. A few days ago, a coworker sent something illogical in an e-mail. With this app, I was eventually able to come up with a reasonable explanation for why it was illogical. I just wish the process of answering that question were more direct. It seemed like it should be easier.
