## What is Fairweather Simple Weather?

The weather, plainly.

Fairweather is a weather app stripped back to what matters — today's conditions on a single, calm screen, with no clutter, no ads, and no account to create.

The whole app is built around one idea. A solid colour fills the screen for the current conditions and shifts warmer or cooler with the temperature, so you can read the sky before you read a number. Clean two-colour weather marks and bold, confident type carry the rest. It's a weather app that feels quiet.

### 1.2 — 2026-08-08

Next-hour rain is far more accurate. It now tells you plainly when rain's on the way, and says "possible rain" when it's only a chance — no more false alarms on a dry day.
New Lock Screen widgets for next-hour rain: a countdown line, a circular glance, or a mini graph, right under your clock.
Rain countdowns update live now, so "Rain starting in 12 min" actually counts down instead of going stale.
A new pull-to-refresh animation.
The precipitation graph shows real intensity, so a light drizzle and a downpour finally look different.

### 1.1 — 2026-07-20

The weather now moves. The mark on the main screen is gently animated — the sun's rays turn slowly, clouds drift apart, rain falls, snow flutters, and lightning flickers. It's deliberately subtle, and it respects Reduce Motion.

Rain, to the minute. A new card tells you when rain is about to start or stop, with a minute-by-minute view of the next hour. Tap it for the full picture.

Every detail, charted. Wind, UV, humidity, pressure, feels-like and precipitation each open a full day curve you can drag a finger across to read any hour. Hours already gone are dimmed, so the day ahead stands out.

A bigger widget. A new large Home Screen widget shows current conditions, an hourly chance-of-rain graph, and the next five days at a glance.

Widgets that know where you are. Home Screen widgets can now be pinned to a saved city or to your current location — long-press and tap Edit Widget. Ones set to your current location keep up as you travel, without needing to open the app first.

Five new Lock Screen widgets. Temperature with today's range, conditions, UV index, wind, and chance of rain — all redrawn to be far easier to read at a glance.
Please note: if you had a Fairweather Lock Screen widget before this update, you'll need to remove it and add one of the new ones in its place.

Also fixed: very cold temperatures no longer wrap awkwardly in the seven-day forecast.
