Biggest complaint is that most of the time when I watch an ad (because it offers energy or resources), it crashes the game, and when I reload it, it “forgets” that I watched the ad, no resources paid out. If it was only once in a while I wouldn’t write this, but when it’s almost every other ad crashing the game….very frustrating, wasting tons of time. ### 2/5 — Can not be found *2022-09-07, version 1.4.1* Hi, I’m writing to you to let you know that after this last update I can no longer access Fairy Town. When I try to access the game a little white box appears and says game can longer be found!? So did an Uninstall and then Reinstalled the game but the same thing happens. I’m on Level 27 and I don’t want to loose everything………Thanks ### 3/5 — Fun, but not so much…. *2022-06-01, version 1.3.1* So I downloaded the game a few days ago and at first it was very fast paced and there were too many tutorials and dialogue. After about an hour it started to become fun and honestly kind of addicting. Yesterday it wouldn’t open. Well it opened but wouldn’t load. I thought maybe I was just impatient so I gave it a few minutes. Then I thought maybe I should close it and try again. When I did that the same issue happened. Then I thought maybe I don’t have enough storage (since I’m running out) and I deleted some things. Wish you a happy game~ ### 2/5 — Dear Fairy Town *2022-05-08, version 1.3.1* I’m writing this because our relationship is frustrating for me and we can’t be together any more. What we had was fun and exciting in the beginning and I enjoyed our time together so much like so many new beginnings. Then you started getting greedy and miserly. Like many others I found the items you used to give freely were needed more and without giving you lots of real money I can’t advance. The tools and mechanical parts are pretty much a joke. I used to get 5 for tasks, now I get 1 - AND it cost me 2 to even earn them. When I had to go begging for water, well… it was just sad. It is not that you don’t give water, you do. But so many recipes call for water, that I couldn’t make much. While I could go to the market, many items I wanted (i.e. magic potion) weren’t available or were expensive (wands/hammers, etc.) Finally, I had to go to customer service to deal with a missing gift receipt and they were finally helpful after days of back and forth, but really… days for a small issue?! I have watched many ads, purchased packages, energy & gems and generally was a good partner, but I am frustrated. To be fair, your graphics are great. It’s your personality that doesn’t work for me. So it is time we broke up. This takes a lot of time to make the energy needed to play more than a few minutes each time then back you go to make more energy. The gameplay other than the working of the farm is so very expensive. I’m playing the Peter Pan Easter game and it’s just way to expensive and time consuming to try to earn energy to play. Purchasing energy with money is way to much also. I am done throwing my money away. ### 3/5 — Warning, don’t go fast *2022-04-16, version 1.3.1* I absolutely loved this game… until I got to the last “level”. Now I can’t do anything until the next area of the map opens. So a word of caution, as your progressing through the locations, take your time and clear out all the resources you can! This game would be a million times better if they would let us go back to the other areas of the map. After finishing the main story, let us go back to the first area to clear resources instead of making us wait forever for the update. Now instead of playing a game I love everyday I’m thinking of deleting it, since there is nothing for me to do but wait. It’s so frustrating because it’s such an easy fix, open the first area back up while we wait! Problem solved! It costs special gold tools earned from filling special orders. However, I rarely get these orders. Sometimes one a day. To make 6 potions it would take six days. This puts the game at an absolute standstill. I don’t finish a quest for a week. I suggest reducing the products needing gold tools or increasing the amount you earn or being able to craft them. ### 3/5 — Disappointing *2022-04-02, version 1.3.1* I wanted to like this game so bad that I even spent money on it because i love the concept. However, the fact that “energy” gets depleted SO FAST -literally in one or two actions- is annoying. Sure I use the carts, station, activities to gain more energy but then you need certain items to use the cart or station. this game has potential but the developers need to give the character way more energy to complete more than a few actions. ### 2/5 — Not worth it if playing free *2022-03-28, version 1.3.1* This is similar to family farm but a fairy tale version. If you do not intend to play for free it isn’t worth it. I watch all the mind numbing ads, collect mushrooms and do everything else to get the little crumbs of energy but it isn’t enough . The prices of items in the market are exorbitant and if you buy anything with your coins you won’t have money for buildings. I can’t afford the any buildings right now or even house I’ve been playing for weeks but you can’t even play long because the energy burns out so fast. I think it’s worse now that they updated the game. They have special event on right now for 10 days which isn’t nearly enough time when my energy bar is at 69 ok I need like 5 or six mushrooms each costs 24 to pick . You pick three and boom out of energy..but you still need five flowers AND a ribbon to make that ONE item . So I’m making no progress at all in the special event . Family farm is much more enjoyable and although it at times is slow going playing money free, at least the log to go the next area costs 1 energy whereas here it costs 28. I am disappointed because this game has potential but it seems the developers care more about lining their pockets then considering options for smart adults who don’t waste their money on mobile games. **Developer response:** Dear mayor: It is suggested to save some energy during break and the Energy can exceed the cap. It’s a shame I would totally give 5 stars when and if this bug is fixed. I really like the game play and graphics but now it’s doesn’t want to load when trying to open it. Then when it does load and I try to go to a different place like mermaid island it won’t load again ### 2/5 — Has potential but also has its share of problems *2022-02-07, version 1.2.9* This is basically a fantasy version of Family Farm Adventure, a game I’ve come to like. However, as much as I wanted to like this game as well, there are several things about it that makes it less fun: 1) At least twice in the past week I’ve seen an ad in which the heroine is pregnant and finds out her boyfriend has been cheating on her with another girl. She then goes into a run-down shack (reminiscent of the one in Modern Times) and ultimately sets the house on fire and dies. As far as I know, none of this is actually in the game (except for the heroine and her friend, Victor), and ads like this (way too many of them now) are not appropriate for a kid’s game. While it’s true that there are darker, more intense fairy tales out there, those should be reserved for older audiences. 2) As many other players have been saying, the game runs out of energy very quickly, within five minutes or so. Family Farm Adventure has a similar system, but it also has more opportunities for bonus energy. It would be nice if this game had more options like that as well. 3) One of the characters is an older black woman known as “Aunt Jemima.” This is racist language that shouldn’t still be with us in 2022. Even a certain rice brand dropped part of its name so it’s now just “Ben’s rice.” It’s just my opinion, but I think you should follow their example. **Developer response:** Dear Mayor: Thanks for your suggestions and feedback. However I’ve reinstalled this game 3 separate times both before and after updating my phone and restarting it. Every time I get to the penguin loading screen where I get the error “A server with the specified host name could not be found” then I hit the retry button 20 times and get the same error. No option to contact customer support or anything. Can’t even load the game so I’m done trying. There appeared to be some dialogue box after the ‘allow to track’ box, but it disappeared before I could even see what was on it other than text and two colored boxes. Maybe it’s a winter event issue? Either way, sorry this is a ‘non-review’. I really did want to try out the game but can’t. Oh, and I did try deleting and reloading three times. Same result each time ### 4/5 — Money pit but im addicted *2022-01-30, version 1.2.9* Could be 5 stars but if you don’t have the cash to dish out, don’t even bother downloading… you wont be able to get anywhere or anything done without purchasing things. I haven’t even had this game for a month and have spent well over $200 in purchases.. but i really enjoy the game and I have the money to spend. Just beware… the game will make you believe you can advance easily at first but ultimately you MUST pay to play. ### 2/5 — Not true *2022-01-30, version 1.2.9* After seeing Calys review that’s it’s easy to renew energy I really gave this a shot. The game is fun and went great for the first two days when energy replenished to the hundreds. The last four days I get 60 energy max and could go hours without playing don’t get anymore then that. Why is that inconvenient? Because in order to do tasksyou pick weeds crush rocks and cut trees and flowers which take at least 16,35,64 energy. Meaning turn on the game and I’m out of energy in 60 seconds. So I go use my energy fillers which yes are nice gets me up to 120 energy again gone in seconds because what you have to do costs so much energy. If I don’t see a change soon I won’t be playing anymore period. Like completing a quest or anything on the checklist, you should be giving us 100+ more energy and make it so coins are easier to get. Over all, a good day but a lot of things need to be easier to access w out money being spent. ### 2/5 — Too much money outlay *2022-01-09, version 1.2.9* I made it to level 17 happily paying a few dollars every couple of days. Then it became apparent that there is no way to make ALL the products you need to make because the amount of tools are not available on the order boards. So you have to buy them and that is too expensive. Also, not enough energy is built up over time for the amount of energy you need to do all the things. One tree takes 36 energy to cut down and you can only accumulate 72 over time. So you basically have to either send all your time watching ads or buy energy. Not fun!!! Goodbye Fairy Town! ### 4/5 — Good game, expensive *2021-12-30, version 1.2.9* This would be way better if there was NO energy meter or watch ads for FULL energy or something. It costs too much to pull weeds and cut rock to get anywhere unless you like to check it for two minutes then come back in a few hours. Or you just like dumping real money into these little games. I enjoy the game but LET ME PLAY damnit ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — NO CUSTOMER SERVICE *2022-07-11, version 1.4.0* UPDATE: Customer service responded saying they had sent compensation. I tried to explain that I had received NOTHING. They insisted they sent it and “maybe” it went to inventory. I find it disturbing that they actually said “maybe” and even responded with “Maybe??? Don’t you know???” Suffice to say, the experience has been too stressful and the terrible customer service has ruined the game. After all, if something goes wrong and they decide they won’t give you any compensation, well, you are just screwed. And cheated. No thanks. MORE PROBLEMS WITH THIS GAME AND NO HELP FROM CUSTOMER SUPPORT. ITEMS HAVE DISAPPEARED THAT ARE NEEDED. THEIR SOLUTION WAS 1) FOLLOW OUR FACEBOOK PAGE AND 2) RECONSTRUCT THE ITEM. NOT SURE HOW I CAN RECONSTRUCT AN ITEM THAT IS NOT THERE. NO INSTRUCTION ON HOW I AM SUPPOSED TO MAKE AN ITEM APPEAR OUT OF THIN AIR AND THEN RECONSTRUCT IT. Wish you a happy game~~ ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2022-03-02, version 1.2.10* I fell in love with this game… but it feels like they created it so you would have to spend more money to keep playing. Even with a monthly subscription and using all the energy tools available I run out of energy constantly. DEVELOPERS: if you want people to keep playing this game (it has great potential- as I said I would pay a monthly subscription if that made the game playable) you need to make a software update to make energy run out more slowly. ### 1/5 — I get to play about 10 min a day *2022-02-15, version 1.2.10* It looks like my complaint is one that many have. You run out of energy quickly and even when you’re busy checking and fulfilling lists, the energy goes quickly. It’s a perfect example of keeping you busy doing menial tasks so you barely make progress in the game. I paid a couple times, but I can use that money to actuallly live my life. And I see that the developers respond the same to all people with this complaint, “I’m sorry for the inconvenience, but do more tasks. Blah, blah, blah.” I’ve played this game for less than a week and I’m pretty much done. ### 1/5 — I did enjoy it at first *2022-01-27, version 1.2.9* Sorry but I am stopping playing. You cannot progress without chisels which have gotten to hard to get. The board keeps wanting items from manufacturing plants I cannot make because I don’t have chisels. I cannot get the chisels because I have to finish board orders to get them. Sure you can delete an order but after the wait, you still have a good chance of an new order you cannot complete. Without being able to progress on the various different lands it is just boring. ### 1/5 — Poor Game mechanics and cash grab *2022-01-03, version 1.2.9* This game seemed more mature, but the game mechanics are really bad. You can only progress if you have money and items but you have to wait for the order board to give you an item so you can craft an item to complete a quest. It also gives you orders for items you cannot make because you don’t have the building. It takes way too long to get the money. It wants you to spend real money to progress in the game - RIP OFF. Micro transactions are used for extras not just to play the game. - You cannot play free form. - You don’t get enough energy (buy more)! - The game makes you dependent on its mechanics to move forward… and then never gives you the items. - pure cash grab, worse than most I deleted the game. Waste of time. I don’t give money to games that have mechanics done this poorly. ### 1/5 — Don’t bother *2021-12-09, version 1.2.8* Things cost too much energy to clear. Five minutes of gameplay and you’re out of energy. Buildings cost so much it’s impossible too get the amount needed unless you buy coins. Doing the order board is slow going with planting crops that in my opinion cost too much takes forever. The animals cost a bunch too and having to make feed for them every harvest makes things even harder to get money. Oh and once you do have enough money to buy a building you have to get materials to build the dang thing. ### 1/5 — Sad *2021-12-09, version 1.2.8* I had a blast playing this game, until today. Went to play and it said there was an update, ok fine. Updated app. Then it tells me I have no internet connection and it won’t load. That’s a crock because everything else works fine. Uninstalled and reinstalled and it took me back to square one with no way of finding my original account. Can’t find it anywhere. This game was frustrating because if you didn’t spend a paycheck on it, you didn’t get far. You have to fill the order board about 6 times to get any tools and you don’t get enough. I can’t fill the orders. I am tired of being stuck and about to quite the game which is too bad because I really like it. I don’t mind occasionally purchasing something, but between there not being enough of the jewels to mine, not enough tools and can’t find the mushrooms to make pizza, I am frustrated. I can’t even find a way to purchase any of these items. Ocassionally one of the items shows up in the Market, but not one of the needed items has shown up for at least 2 weeks. I recently started playing this game and decided to try the subscription service for one week because it came with 3 days free. A few days later when I decided to cancel the subscription service I was shocked to see that I had been charged for the monthly subscription service. Of course there was also no free three days with this subscription. When I contacted customer service they said I had already enjoyed the service so there was no refund on the subscription. This was within the first week and I believe within the first three days of playing. I would never have knowingly signed up for the monthly subscription as even the weekly one time thing was a splurge. All I’m getting for responses is that this is what you signed up for and enjoy the game. There is no enjoying the game when you have been cheated and no offer to even make it right. I told them I would gladly pay for the weekly fee if they think I have “enjoyed” the services. It’s half “F@rmville”-type build-your-city, and half exploration/story. There’s tons of ways to gain energy, but like every similar game, it eventually needs time to replenish. You can hit this game once an hour or a few times a day and find tons to do and discover. (1xday or continuously won’t work.) Like all games these days there’s a store, but there’s no paywall so that you can’t succeed without spending. Alternating between my town goals and story quests (and using the 3 energy replenishers) I can play for a long time for free. I’m loving the variety of story quests and the art style. Overall, cute and fun game, and once when I got stuck they answered the ticket within 20 minutes; so great customer service. There’s a new contest that is supposed to add to your score for using technology in the game. Things like creating sawdust, making stones of various types, milling raw materials into fabrics, etc. Things were just fine this morning and I was in the top 3 competitors. I have tried 4 times since this morning to gain headway with the top two places, and I can’t gain any new points. The #1 player is now at 8,000 and rising. I’m still at 4,000. What’s the darn deal here? I’ve reloaded the game each time, and nothing seems to be working. SOOO NOT HAPPY! ### 4/5 — Just missed 5 star *2023-01-05, version 1.4.1* I am in love with this game. I played Castleville Legends for years and this game has that same feel. The only issue I have is the energy system. It takes so much energy to do anything. I am not opposed to a system like this I have just never experienced one quite this off putting. I am level 10 with about 60 base energy and clearing one large rock could easily take 20 to 30 energy. There are ways to replenish energy in game but the materials needed have to be gathered from clearing things like rocks etc. I feel that if the energy system was less intense I would be inclined to play more and therefore perhaps spend money on vanity items. The story is great, the design is great but there is a lot of room for improvement. For instance: the land your given might seem big but as you progress it’s actually pretty small and they way you want to layout your farm gets very difficult and ends up all smooshed together, you also get stuff from the traveling but the problem is you can’t sell these things when you don’t need them so being able to sell stuff you can’t would be nice as well, my last suggestion would be the obstacles such as trees and rocks and provided decor like the fences you remove. I would like to be able to actually buy these in the shop because I like a lot of these and want to add them in my farm layout.
