The main issue I’m having is the transactions are not importing. I’ve tried everything I know to do with glitching apps. I also tried the “App Support” link and it’s down. There’s no real way to report a problem within the app. Not sure what the issue is but this is the 14 day trial. I’ll give it a few days to correct itself or I’ll sadly have to move on. iPhone 12 Pro iOS 17.0.3 Update: The problem I described above is from me not fully understanding how FaithFi goes and gets imports. Other apps I’ve used would go and grab all transactions from that particular month. FaithFi only downloads from the start date you specify or the default which is the date you do the first import. The first day I downloaded there were no transactions so it appeared to me that FaithFi didn’t do the import. Maybe there should be a prompt to ask the user from what date they would like the import to start. ### 3/5 — Challenging to use *2022-11-01* My wife and I used this application for a year and were not pleased with how it worked. To use a credit card is difficult in this app. The method we had to use required us to take two steps to move money from our checking account to pay the credit card. Splitting transactions is difficult too. After you enter the transaction from the store and need to split it among different categories is challenging. Should be able to split the transactions on the initial entry and not have to go back into the transaction to split the transaction after it is entered. Reconciling accounts is challenging. If you have a spit transaction, you must add up all the transactions for that store then compare it with the transaction record from the bank/credit card. For example, you go to the store to buy some groceries, an article of clothing, and some cleaning supplies. You would have three different entries in Money Wise that you would have to add their totals to make sure the store’s transaction was correct. Reconciling accounts is difficult. I balance all account twice/month to ensure that there are not any fraudulent charges on my accounts. Very rarely does the bank/credit card balance with what is in Money Wise. Even after I make a manual correction, the amount will be off again in two weeks. Sometimes, Money Wise will duplicate the transaction requiring me to dig through my history to find it because the balances are not correct. I am a fan of the envelope system and have used it for years. I really wanted this application to work and to support this company but it creates hours of extra work each month to keep the balances correct. We look forward to helping any way we can. ### 5/5 — Excellent customer service *2022-05-18* One of the best things I love about MoneyWise is that their help tech team is fantastic. They get back to you right away and know exactly how to be of assistance. I was a very long time member of a similar envelope system and they would literally take weeks or months to fix the problem. Finally, I said, “Enough!” I am so thankful for the blessing of MoneyWise and would encourage anyone to give it a try!! ### 5/5 — Best budgeting app *2022-02-09* I have been looking for an app just like this for a long time. I love that it offers different ways to set up your budget. You can use the envelope system or you can do your budget based on a monthly basis. It is intuitive to use and if you pay the five dollars a month you can download all your transactions and have them available to put into your budget very easily! I highly recommend. One thing I wish budgeting apps would incorporate is a biweekly budgeting system. So that you can allocate your expenses to one of your paychecks and then you’ll have money to allocate to the other paycheck during the month. ### 4/5 — Funding issues *2022-01-13* I’d wished the funding were liked with the accounts. It creates some confusion when moving money from different accounts. ### 3/5 — A for features, but C- for stability *2021-10-03, version 2.0.8* I tried the money wise app in hope that I could recommend it to my daughter and future son-in-law for their money management. I was impressed at the Plaid feature as it collected all my accounts from my bank. However, when I started adding envelopes I chose to delete the Hourly envelope and then the app crashed. I won’t recommend this app since it feels at first blush as a trade show demo. I’ve been using a spreadsheet to derive our budget and my bank’s app to fund numerous accounts as envelopes with more trust worthy behavior. I’d gladly try it again once the code for it is more stable. I’m thankful for the Money Wise ministry and the existing podcasts. ### 4/5 — Excited for the apps potential *2021-07-29* I trust MoneyWise and was excited to learn about this app to help manage my finances electronically. I signed up for the free trial offer to check out the benefits of the paid version. The interface is clean and easy to navigate and I had no difficulty connecting to my external institutions. Having the feed automatically upload is so helpful, as money moves fast in and out of these accounts. I am pleased to be able to easily add custom envelopes however I read that the free version has 75 options for envelopes (but with no customization), and I would love to see that benefit added to the paid subscription (18 envelopes). One more suggestion — A button for “add new envelope” when you long press into an unassigned transaction would be such a time saver. Otherwise excited to get started with a biblically sound plan for the providence God has provided. Thank you! ### 5/5 — Fantastic Time Saver *2021-07-14* This app has freed up a lot of time that has been spent entering receipts into the computer. The support staff has been amazing. They are quick to respond to questions, and they offer online tutorials to help non-tech savvy customers. ### 5/5 — Simple Envelope Budgeting *2021-03-16* My wife and I have been looking for something like this for awhile. Other apps like YNAB and Every Dollar were still a little too complicated. My only feedback was would be nice to have to better transaction entry options. Capital One unfortunately doesn’t play nice with Plaid. **Developer response:** Thanks so much for the review and feedback! We’ll be releasing a new feature for CSV uploads of transactions to help make that process easier when you have several entries to make. We’ve also been told a Capital One connection can be expected from Plaid in the coming months! ### 5/5 — Best Envelope System *2021-01-14* I had used the Crown Financial software for so many years. I was struggling to find an app that could replace it because it would no longer work with the new operating system on my computer. This app is perfect. Downloads my bank transactions and allows me to update my envelopes throughout the day so I don’t have to do it sitting down at the computer. Maintains an accurate record of my spending, budgeted amount, and spending category balances. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Rob West is great *2024-06-05, version 4.0.3* The app and the envelops are not transparent. I have $100.00 in my account. Only God knows how it ended up there. I didn't put it there. No response from your organization when I asked. Transparency is very important regarding money matters isn't it. G ### 1/5 — Recurring Charges out of Nowhere *2023-05-24, version 3.3.2* Had the app and really didn't find it useful. Didn't realize they must have changed their policies and got 5 months worth of charges out of me before I even realized it! I was optimistic but ended up being disappointed! ### 2/5 — Too many bugs *2024-09-14* Initially the app seemed to work alright, but after a year or two the bugs continue to pile up and it gets slower and slower. I’ll probably turn to another app soon, at this rate it’s hindering our ability to track our finances rather than help it ### 2/5 — Disappointed in 4.0 *2024-05-16* Loved the app until this update. Now I have to go through several clicks to find my uncategorized transactions, which is the function I use more than anything else. I also don’t think the list is updating if I go back to the list without closing the app. Lastly, it logs me out when I close the app. Please address these. Thanks! Rodney ### 2/5 — Poor working App *2023-02-10* It seems like some accounts work and others don't. Some constantly need to be reconnected, and even then the transactions don't show up. Almost ready to quit using it and go back to manual entry on a different app. Customer service is nice, but it takes forever for them to solve the problems. The app needs a lot of work. Articles have text cut off and the daily check ins have a bunch of black screens and videos that won’t load. I tried contacting support but “an error occurred”. I have the pro trial and don’t know if it’s worth paying for if these crucial things don’t work. ### 3/5 — The new UI is a step backwards *2024-05-17* It worked really well. Had issues with bank feeds not updating but they were really good at fixing it. The updated UI is a major step backwards. It looks nice but it is clunky and doesn’t respond well. However, I’ve been witness to some really interesting stories on Faithfi. A.I. doesn’t have jurisdiction over this case. Do you remember where this started? I love the recent update and the daily check-ins. So grateful for this app! ### 5/5 — Phenomenal money management app *2026-02-03* A while back my favorite money management app we had used for over 15 years was discontinued. I searched and couldn’t find anything comparable until I saw an online thread someone talking about FaithFi. I was skeptical that a faith based app would have the functionality I needed for an envelope-concept budget management system. FaithFi proved me SO wrong. It has surpassed my expectations, and any functionalities previously missing have been installed. It may not be compatible with some financial institutions, and I had one credit card with Synchrony that only updated once a month on the app, but synchrony got their act together eventually and I couldn’t be happier. There are coaching articles and short podcasts to encourage people wanting to steward their money better. It is the best money management app out there and the pricing is beyond reasonable! Faithfi is by far the best out of all of them. Things I like are: automatic transaction import from my bank; ability to carry over negative balances; "real" handling of credit cards; fantastic iOS app; split transactions; manual envelope creation; fast and friendly customer support. I find the pricing to be reasonable compared to other alternatives. It has more flexibility than other tools like YNAB. Plaid is a great tool for integration, and the support team is responsive. The UI is intuitive and easy-to-use. Overall this is just such a great app, I hope it's around for a long time. I tried at least a dozen other budgeting apps and nothing else could match this gem.
