### 5/5 — Just what i needed

*2021-12-21, version 11.7*

I think what I appreciated most was that you could pick the amount of faith you wanted incorporated into your sessions. I got paired with a counselor that seems to meet the needs that I have, it is very uplifting and encouraging. Based on the preferences selected I was paired with a therapist who prayed with me at the end of my session. He didn’t browbeat me with scripture or anything like that, but he took time to share some encouraging words and pray with me… It’s been a long time since I’ve had that opportunity and level of care. Thank you

### 5/5 — I’ve never felt so heard and seen by a therapist

*2021-10-27, version 10.0*

I really did not want to do virtual therapy. I thought it sounded like just another easy, money-making scheme for someone. I’ve had really crappy experiences with therapists in the past and my current insurance isn’t accepted by anyone. I heard about this app through the Heart of Dating podcast and rolled my eyes every time she talked about it. But eventually I found myself asking, “what was that therapy app she’s always talking about?” and went searching for the ad break in the middle of her podcasts 😂 I just had my first session with Joseph and he just got me. I always feel like I have to over explain to everyone. I feel like people don’t understand me or relate to me. He was so good at guiding me and getting the necessary information out of me that I wouldn’t have been able to express on my own. He was knowledgable and had real-world understanding of what my actual problem was and how to address it. I didn’t feel judged or stupid and the longer our session went, the more comfortable and sure I felt. I’m really happy I went out on a limb to try it.

### 5/5 — FaithfulCounseling

*2021-10-21, version 10.0*

This has been the best app with communicating with my counselor. The first time I thought I had to be on Zoom and was waiting and their app already had the virtual equipment on it. You must have the sound and camera enabled in order to work. I’m always at home and since Hurricane Ida my WiFi has been acting slow and I said well I know I’m going to lose a signal on my therapy session one day. But it hasn’t happened yet. 😂 Hey you want a great counselor I recommend my counselor to anyone Jennifer Fuller. She is helping me with anxiety, panic attacks, depression and grief.

### 5/5 — Counseling makes major differences in your life!

*2021-10-20, version 10.0*

I am so thankful for the counseling I’ve been able to receive. It’s so nice to talk to someone who generally is listening and wanting to help you figure things out and help you to feel better. You never know why you’re doing the things that you’re doing until you dive deep into past experiences and thoughts. It definitely helps me to stay grounded in the Lord and learn to love Him better.

### 5/5 — What a wonderful platform!

*2021-10-13, version 10.0*

If you have ever been to a therapist, or have even had the slightest thought, YOU NEED TO GET THIS APP AND DO IT! I absolutely fell in love with this the second I got paired with a therapist. They work with my crazy hectic schedule (I’m a full time music student, a full time music minister, and I also have a part time job as well.) and just to have that little bit of accountability for the things I struggle with, right in my back pocket, is absolutely amazing. Please, if you’re even just a little bit thinking about it, take the step and do it!

### 5/5 — Wonderful Therapist!

*2021-09-28, version 10.0*

Because “Wonderful Counselor” is a very Sacred title and only belongs to One. But I was very impressed by the quality of compassionate care with the counselor I worked with. What a friendly, sweet, godly and professional lady. Non-judgement, yet able to guide me to my blind spots so I could better recognize where I’m holding myself back in areas and in many ways helping me see where I can make self-improvements in spite of circumstances, atmosphere, and people. We should always be striving to improve. I felt flat out STUCK in some ways, but I’m coming out. With my hands up. Praise the Lord!

### 5/5 — FC app review

*2021-09-01, version 10.0*

I think this app is great. I am able to write to my coin select whenever I need and they have time to respond when they are available to. The option for video and text is super great. During a live text chat I also really like that you can see what the counselor is typing before it is sent. Hat is helpful for me to start processing even before she sends the note!

I am thankful for this counseling opportunity and am very pleased with this site

### 5/5 — Worth every penny

*2021-08-17, version 10.0*

Hands down the most affordable and quality care I’ve ever experienced. Less than 1/3 the cost for care that is easily 10x the quality I experienced in traditional therapy locally. The convenience of messaging outside of my weekly session helped me conquer my biggest hurdle with every counselor - that dreaded first session that feels really expensive and unproductive as you get to know each other. When I’m in crisis, I want to get help and learn actionable steps to get me out of my current scenario because I feel out of control. The ability to message allowed my counselor and I to connect and get all of the basics out of the way so that in our first session we brought me tremendous closure on a topic id previously spent years in other counseling services not realizing was a root issue to be addressed. Cannot recommend the services enough.

### 5/5 — God provides in so many ways

*2021-07-22, version 10.0*

I was hesitant, but making the decision to seek therapy has provided me with a lot of peace. And even more so that it is convenient through Faithful Counseling. I get to be in the comfort of my home and receive help. I look forward to seeing what I can gain through this journey. The website/app are user friendly, easy to navigate, and free from the fuss of going through insurance. It’s worth the try if anyone is considering it and doesn’t know where to start.

### 5/5 — Best decision I ever made.

*2021-06-30, version 9.9*

I had been nervous about counseling for years. I heard about faithful counseling through a podcast I listen to called Hearr of Dating. I kept it in the back of my mind every episode I heard about it but it wasn’t until seeing it as a sponsor for their first conference and then having a moment 3 months later that pushed me to sign up.

The sign up process was easy with the short survey about you and what kind of counseling you need. I was matched up with my counselor in a few short hours.

I lone that they’re multiple ways to have a session, and the message board that lets you share with your counselor outside a session. You can also give feedback about the ease of or lack of ease using the app after a session.

It’s also really affordable, with different pay options for weekly, monthly, quarterly. I can’t say enough about this app, or my counselor. She’s helped me walk through some very challenging things this past year and helped me find Jesus along the way, and tools to take with me through life, like mindfulness and boundaries.

If you’re looking for a Christian counselor or have been wanting to try it, but maybe a little nervous, give this a try. I have not regretted it but only wished I’d done it sooner. :)

### 5/5 — Real and actually helpful

*2021-06-10, version 9.9*

No one wants to go to counseling lol. I sure didn’t want to. This platform makes it super easy to change your counselor and find the right fit. It’s easy as can Be to messsage your counselor and everything is accessible including your scheduling and messages and the access to my counselor feels instant. I didn’t want to call some stranger and tell them my broad-stroked life problems, but frankly she made it OK. She helped me take some pressure off my end of the counseling and just slowly started to open things up. Anyway just a few weeks in but for this dude, I’m going to keep pushing with it.

### 5/5 — So Helpful

*2021-03-24, version 9.9*

I am so glad that I found Faithful Counseling. My counselor is great and I love that I get a Christian perspective...and that I was asked in the questionnaire just how much spirituality I would be comfortable with. My counselor is really helping me come to some realizations and set some healthy boundaries. Also, I love that I get access to all of the groupinars on the Better Help platform on various topics. I have learned so much in just a few weeks. Taking the leap and signing up is one of the best decisions I could have made.

### 5/5 — Brought back from re-lapsing into an addition

*2020-12-21, version 9.7*

I reached out to BetterHelp because I was on my last leg and needed help. I was personally drawn to it because I’m a Christian and was pleasantly surprised to find people from various backgrounds, faiths, and had the option to choose if I even wanted a spiritual aspect to be included. This was important to me because my addiction can lead to a lot of judgement, and I appreciated having options. After couple months with my therapist, I was bought back from going over a cliff to being healthy, content and functioning. I’m grateful for this app and will come back to it if I need help.

### 5/5 — Life-saving, life-altering

*2020-11-09, version 9.7*

I can’t express in enough words how much Faithful Counseling is helping me through my trauma, anxiety and fear! These counselors are experienced. They are full of love, guidance and understanding. They validate all my feelings and give me helpful Bible verses, life tips, mental, emotional and spiritual support. All topics you need help with can be addressed. There is healing. There is love. There is help for what you need help with. It has been invaluable to receive counseling from a Christian perspective for me. My faith in God is the most important thing in my life, so it has been a great comfort to have people on my side who think and feel similarly about God. Get this resource if you want to work through the intense, deep problems you face.

### 5/5 — Read this one

*2020-08-20, version 9.7*

I’ve been struggling over 19 years with my mental health..I reached a point where I had lost all hope and self control. I knew I needed professional help... Terry Turner James has been an incredible help in my journey. She is so patient and kind. This is only my 2nd month but I feel a spirit deep changes. She has been answer to my prayers and so has this app. It’s so easy to use. She is an incredible woman and extremely educated. 10/10 would recommend for any age, race, and sexual orientation. 💛🙏🏽

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Poor Service and Ripped off my brother.

*2023-04-11*

If you’re in need of help and see this please avoid the headache and go somewhere else. My brother was having a crisis and I found this app for him to get scheduled to talk with someone and he had specified needing to talk to a male therapist/counselor. They charged him $400 and then matched him with a female counselor after giving him a run around on the phone about payment. He told the counselor as soon as the call started he was done and they only partially refunded him. After stealing $200 from him he has been unable to get back it added further distress to someone already in a crisis and made things so much worse. My brother is now in a hospital undergoing evaluation against his will after becoming a danger to himself. The horrible service from this app was not the cause, but definitely did nothing to help and only made things worse by convincing an already distressed person that therapy is just a scam.

**Developer response:** Hello there, thank you for sharing this feedback. I am very sorry to hear about this experience and it does not sound usual. We would like to look into this further for you. To discuss, can you please contact us at contact@faithfulcounseling.com?

### 1/5 — Not very happy with this

*2020-01-11, version 8.1*

I was very excited when I learned there was an online counseling for Christians. I work long hours and needed to have a counselor that could work with that. First off this is really expensive and they charge you not by week but by month. For one month it was over $200. Second after filling out the tons of surveys they have you fill out my counselor was ok at first. She answered my questions but you could tell they were scripted and nothing that I had not heard before. Then it got interesting. I had a meeting scheduled with her and she canceled due to a family emergency or that’s what she told me. About two weeks later I was held late at work in a meeting and I missed the start of my session. I messaged her apologizing and she proceeded to tell me that her time was important and that this was the second time I had canceled on her and that she had other patients who would really like to have my spot. I told her that no I had not and that she had canceled on me the first time. After almost an entire day she messaged back and said I was right and would I like to reschedule. No apology or anything. I quit the service if this is the kind of service I’m going to get for paying a stupid amount of money then I don’t want it. I will not tell others to use this service or use it myself again. Very disappointed.

### 1/5 — Huge disappointment & very expensive

*2019-09-09, version 8.1*

My husband wanted a male counselor but they gave him a woman. They say unlimited texting/messaging but it is one a day, maybe! And then it is very short almost and probably automatic questions. He ended up having 3 sessions only in 2 month subscription and the cost was almost $600. The counselor did nearly all of the talking and for the most part we could only see the bottom quarter of her face during the session I sat in on at her request. The company has some real issues to fix, but while you are waiting they are charging you for that week! The counselor didn’t show up for one of our sessions while we waited for her. We did a screen shot to prove the scheduled time that she missed. The next time she was available was the following week, so we paid for a week with no session. By that time we were frustrated and canceled our subscription. When you do that, the company says it can’t refund you because they don’t have your email on active status so there “is no email associated” with an account with them. For a “Christian” company, their ethics do not match this! I absolutely do not recommend them.

### 1/5 — Horrible Scam. If you need counseling get a real in-person counselor!

*2018-07-13, version 6.2*

False advertising says “unlimited counseling” but it only allows you to sign up once every two weeks and they don’t tell you most sessions are only a half hour. You end up paying about $100 per hour for lame phone calls. If you need help get a real in-person counselor. This app/web site is a total scam to take your money. It did not help my situation at all after 3 months. They keep saying it’ll get better if you go one more month but I found out after I wasted almost a thousand dollars in that time that it doesn’t. (But they keep your money anyway). Two sessions were cancelled or moved too which was really inconvenient. They rescheduled the next week but wouldn’t give any refund for the extra week of receiving no meeting. Go to a professional counselor instead of this online/telemarketer scam.

### 3/5 — 3 stars

*2023-02-15, version 12.12*

Platform could use work on its capacity to simultaneously work from different devices. I was on video in the app with my therapist and needed to access a worksheet, but couldn’t log in while in session. The video function is pretty basic. I would appreciate a waiting room or to link to a location on the website or app while waiting for my session to start - instead of the therapists video just popping up when they start the session.
I’ve lost journaling several times in the app just because the “close” link is always visible and bright red, where as the “save” and “submit” link is at the end of the worksheet.

### 4/5 — Does not auto save

*2022-03-08, version 12.3*

The therapists on this app are true Gems. My only constructive criticism are for the App developers. Please develop the auto save feature because we live in a day and age where we have automatic phone locks when the phone is idle. We don’t want to loose the hard work we’ve put into writing out our thoughts and feelings. This is an app for psychological / therapeutic help. The last thing you want is for a patient to snap because what the questionnaire that they filling out for over 15 mins went away because they got a scam call and the app locked.

### 4/5 — Great app but doesn't work with insurance

*2021-12-31, version 11.7*

For the therapy itself, Faithful Counseling delivered everything it advertised. Easy to use, convenient, accessible. I appreciated the sessions with my therapist.

However, a word of warning for those who would like to use health insurance to cover part of the services, it is an absolute paperwork PAIN to try to get this covered. FC is pretty clear upfront that they don't work with insurance companies claims, and since they are the platform rather than provider, they can't help with certain details that one might need to get reimbursed. Just wanted to reiterate this.

It's not Faithful Counseling's fault for this, since again, they are clear about this upfront and their pricing and financial aid is a nice alternative, but this insurance bit is a separate roadblock that I want to make sure people know about as they seek mental health services.

### 4/5 — If you are skeptical, I hope this review helps

*2020-08-24, version 9.7*

I am usually the go to person among my friends but this year I really wanted to start focusing on me and the trauma I’ve experienced. At the top of the year, I started going to a therapist my friend recommended ( not in faithful counseling) and it was a pretty odd experience. I didn’t think therapy was for me but i found this site and I have to say — I feel really comfortable. The survey you do in the beginning to discuss your preference really helps and I like my therapist a lot. I respect her and her expertise and she gives sound advice. I hope this helps you on tour journey to healing.

### 4/5 — Very Helpful

*2019-09-28, version 8.1*

The convenience of having a counselor reassure you that things are going to be okay via text communication is extremely helpful. Though the sessions are short (30 minutes) a lot can be discussed. There is an option to have extra sessions during the week, but those are at an extra cost. Perhaps 45 minute sessions would be better, especially at the beginning of your therapy. Or if you could have a choice on the length of the session you would like. Waiting an entire week between sessions can sometimes feel like a very long time. But having the availability of being able to reach out to your counselor via text and even the option to mark it as urgent is very reassuring in times of need.

### 4/5 — Just starting....

*2018-08-16, version 6.3*

I don't normally like to do reviews right after I start something. However, I feel good about this one. This program allows you to have frequent contact with your counselor as much or as little as you like. My counselor and I have been in contact almost daily. I would never get that with traditional counseling. I love that she is so engaged. I still haven't figured out the counseling sessions yet as they are not face to face. They are more of a live chat style session. I don't like texting on my phone and using the keypad. Using my computer with an actual keyboard and a larger screen would be a lot easier.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — I highly recommend considering services!

*2023-04-24*

Services offered through Faithful Counseling are customized truly to suit your therapy preferences as a client. Therefore, its truly client-centered. My therapist, Cynthia, is truly timely, responsive and gives practical feedback to help me address my specific needs. Additionally, you have the opportunity to choose the way youd like to meet with your therapist (chat, video etc.). This is great for someone like me whose on the go typically and I save tons of gas if you know what I mean. I truly recommend services offered through Faithful Counseling to suit your therapy needs so you too can reap the benefits Im beginning to have since I signed up for services recently.

### 5/5 — Effective

*2023-02-26, version 12.12*

For those of you who have things to say but you don’t want to verbalize them or you are better at conveying thoughts through writing, this is the counseling for you. Have a chat session! I chose the chat for the first visit and it was way less awkward than any in person or video session I’ve had. It also has a cool preview feature so you can read as they type a response which makes the whole thing go faster and is really efficient. At first it was weird but then really helpful.

### 5/5 — Great interface for therapy

*2023-01-24, version 12.12*

The app makes managing the different aspects of my therapy—live sessions, messages, groupinars, journaling—seamless. I don’t have to wonder where to go for different activities. I log in and it’s all there. No searching the website and login information.
The app is password protected for each launch. So I don’t have to wonder about anyone having accessed to my therapy because they have my device unlocked. The app has its own password.
I’m very pleased with the interface.

### 5/5 — Needs Are Met

*2022-11-19, version 12.12*

I’m very pleased with the ease of use of the app and it’s internal features. I like the fact that there are group sessions available for extra help. I’m also delighted that I can speak with my therapist through messaging throughout the week if I need to. This is a wonderful source for people who don’t live where counseling is easily available or for people who aren’t comfortable leaving their home. I’m very pleased with Faithful Counseling and their app!

### 5/5 — More helpful than I anticipated

*2022-09-10, version 12.11*

I have only been a part of faithful counseling for a couple of weeks and am already blown away by the support of my counselor, as well as the Groupinars that have helped me understand more of who I am. I now no longer feel “crazy” in my emotions, but understand where they’re coming from, and can now work through negative thoughts towards something productive. I am grateful to Faithful a counseling for helping me grow stronger as an individual, and stronger in my faith!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2022-07-26, version 12.9*

I have nothing but good to say about Faithful Counseling. Being able to meet with my counselor from my phone or iPad when I am not at home, being able to text message her when needed, and scheduling ease are just three reason why I love it. I used BetterHelp during the pandemic, but wanted a Christian counselor. Faithful Counseling matched me perfectly and I am making good progress while also understanding what God wants for me through my trials. Five stars!

### 5/5 — Just what I’ve needed!

*2022-04-30, version 12.3*

This app is awesome! I’ve been using it for a few months now and it makes it easy to schedule appointments, quickly connect with my therapist in a pinch, and jot down notes and thoughts throughout the day that would otherwise be trapped in my head. My job and family life keep me constantly on the go (I’m working on trying to slow down to be more intentional!) so the app gives me a seamless and convenient way to integrate self-care and wellness into my day to day life. So far I’ve had zero issues!

### 5/5 — Nothing better than this.

*2022-03-22, version 12.3*

I have been with Faithful Counseling for about a month and I love every aspect of it. The app is easy to navigate, the therapist are extremely friendly and the matching program was a breeze. After answering a few questions on what I need/expect I was matched with my therapist and he has been a light at the end of my tunnel so far. He has helped me in more ways than I can explain and I will forever be grateful that Faithful Counseling has come into my life.

### 5/5 — I was skeptical but...

*2022-03-12, version 12.3*

They’ve really outdone themselves with this whole platform. Everything is smooth, caring and it provides you with a great deal of ways to get you thinking and working on yourself that feel effortless. It really is on par with the best apps in the industry and to think Christ is welcome here and my counselor understand how significant Jesus is to me and incorporates that into the sessions. What a blessing Faithful Counsel is. Thank you.

The only criticism is I had to wait a little less than 30 hours to be matched with my therapist which when you are first reaching out for help feels like an eternity. But it’s a great match and I’m sure some people worked really hard behind the scenes to make the right match because it is. Hang in there, it’s worth it.

### 5/5 — Convenient and Helpful

*2022-01-19, version 11.7*

I really enjoy my time with Christine. Her smile, her calmness and helpful advice and Godly influence are helping me walk through a place in my life that I am unsure about. The ability to journal any time and to make session appointments are so convenient. No running around to get to an appointment. Just find a quiet spot and your there talking with your therapist. The journaling is convenient as well. Being able to share it with a therapist if I want to is helpful too. I recommend this avenue of therapy to anyone in any walk of life. God is great!
