## What is Fajr O'Clock?

Sound like you? Three alarms set the night before, telling yourself you had taken the means.

So nobody needs to convince you to pray. You already want to. Fajr O'Clock lets your actions catch up with your intention.

The Sunnah describes three knots tied on the sleeper. The dhikr of waking unties the first, wudu the second, the prayer the last. Fajr O'Clock invents nothing: every technology in it serves to untie one of those knots, in that order.

BEFORE
Consistency never held, despite all the advice from brothers and sisters. Even copying them, nothing stuck.

FROM NOW ON
Fajr O'Clock is an adaptive smart alarm. From your difficulties, your goals and what you actually do, it forces the actions that break the cycle. You and your brother can live two very different experiences of the same app.

22:47 TONIGHT
Fajr is not missed at dawn. It is missed the night before, at the hour you push sleep away. On your home screen, the widget of the thirds of the night: how long you can delay Isha, when to lie down, when the last third begins. Muhasaba takes three minutes, the wudu reminder puts you to bed in a state of purity, the evening adhkar close the day. None of this is an app idea. It is the evening protocol of the Sunnah, put on your phone.

04:51 THE ALARM
An ordinary alarm rings at a fixed hour while dawn moves every day. Fajr O'Clock computes Fajr from your location and shifts the alarm every night, summer and winter. You set it once. Before Fajr for Qiyam, or after. It wakes you without music: gradual sounds, from birdsong to radar for the heaviest sleepers. The adhan will never be an alarm tone. We respect it too much for that.

04:53 THE FIRST KNOT
You have switched off an alarm with no memory of doing it. Or started your day scrolling instead of remembering Him. Fajr O'Clock waits for the invocation of waking, said out loud. Say it in Arabic or in one of ten languages. The first knot comes undone at the exact moment the authentic hadith says it does.

04:55 THE SECOND KNOT
Being awake is not being up. Three steps lead to the sink, and also to the sofa. So it does not call you up on the first movement. It waits for your body to move, and stays with you through wudu. Walk with the iPhone in your hand or your pocket, then set it down for the ablutions. The blue torch on Apple Watch lights your way without waking those who are exempt from praying. The app witnesses that you got up AND that you made wudu. Second knot undone.

05:20 THE SKY
Point the camera at the horizon: the app reads the light and confirms the entry of Fajr sadiq where you are, even when you wake at the last minute and doubt there is time left. The third knot, no application can untie for you. That is the one you needed an alarm for, one that bends technology to your need and to the Sunnah.

EVERY DAY
• Inside the sakina.day ecosystem: it talks to Basirah and Bayan.
• Prayer times from your location: MWL, UOIF 12 degrees, ISNA, Egypt, Turkey.
• Period mode: the alarm pauses, then resumes on its own when the time comes, in sha Allah.
• Siri, Control Center or the Smart Stack: your night and your consistency by week, month, year, tracked and under control.
• LED flash and vibration for deaf and hard of hearing brothers and sisters.

WHAT THE APP DOES NOT DO
No personal data collected. Your voice and everything the app senses stay on your phone, never recorded. No lectures, no guilt reminders, nobody between you and your prayer. The Sunnah described the path. The app marks it, then steps aside.

Weekly, monthly or yearly subscription, no commitment, Family Sharing. What you pay leaves you proof, morning after morning, that you truly took the means.
Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.sakina.day/terms

Tonight, you have no alarm to set. And you will sleep differently.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.2.2 — 2026-10-27

The Fajr walkie-talkie is here, free for everyone.

What is the Fajr walkie-talkie?
A walkie-talkie between loved ones, to wake each other up by voice at Fajr. Your voice reaches them even when their screen is locked, and theirs reaches you.

How do I add someone?
Through Mutual Aid: a link or a QR code. As soon as they accept, they join your circle, with their status: talking to you, asleep, or unreachable.

What if nobody answers?
There's still the Wizz: a drop you pull until it breaks free. Their device shakes, with the sound of water, even when locked. Then you can see whether it was heard, whether the app is open, and whether they're up.

Do I need a subscription?
No, neither you nor your loved ones. Only the trusted contact feature requires a subscription: if your alarm rings and you don't get up, they're notified.

Weekly, monthly, or yearly subscription, no commitment, family sharing.

Good night, and may Allah grant you a peaceful dawn.

### 2.2.1 — 2026-10-15

A fix for the evening card, and for the shahada microphone.

My evening card still said "a few more mornings"?
That's fixed. When you wake at the same time whatever time you went to bed, the card now shows you your finding, drawn from your mornings, instead of making you wait.

The microphone stayed paused on the second shahada?
That's fixed too: it opens every time, without restarting the app.

Weekly, monthly, or yearly subscription, no commitment, family sharing.

Good night, and may Allah grant you a peaceful dawn.

### 2.2.0 — 2026-10-13

A card for your nights, a second invocation on waking, and good advice that speaks to you according to your profile.

How much sleep do I have left before dawn?
After your muhasaba, the evening card shows you on a timeline of the night, from Maghrib to sunrise. It learns from your own nights the latest bedtime behind your best wake-ups. When it has enough mornings to compare, a notification tells you. In the morning, it switches to the night you just had; during the day, the moon in the bar waits for evening.

Can I recite a longer invocation when I wake up?
Yes, in French and in Arabic: the one for whoever wakes in the night, reported by Ibn Majah, followed by "Lord, forgive me". In settings, tap its text to choose it. When you wake, it scrolls at the pace of your voice. And everyone says "Allah" and "Muhammad" the way their tongue allows: the app hears it.

What does the app tell me when a morning didn't hold?
The good advice writes you a word in the morning, and a firmer reminder in the evening: don't miss two mornings in a row. Its tone follows your profile. When a morning barely holds, it notices that too. If you lose your footing, it invites you to renew your testimony of faith, out loud. You can turn it off in "My profile".

What else?
Notifications now have water sounds, no bell. The app speaks Simplified Chinese, its sixteenth language. On iPad in landscape and on iPhone Duo, the app tour and the subscription screen open as a two-page spread. The night thirds and your alarm follow the end of daylight saving time on November 1. Your resolution can be edited by tapping it in settings. And the wudu microphone closes the moment you check off your wudu.

Weekly, monthly, or yearly subscription, no commitment, family sharing.

Good night, and may Allah grant you a peaceful dawn.

### 2.1.2 — 2026-10-01

Before you subscribe, you can now see what Fajr O'Clock does. The subscription screen shows the features in action.

What exactly am I paying for?
The subscription screen now previews the features before you commit. Before, you had to take our word for it. We realized that wasn't much of an argument.

What if I'm not sure it'll work for me?
Take the week, not the year. One week is enough to see whether the alarm gets you up and whether you stick to the protocol. So much for the badge we put on the yearly plan.

Is Fajr O'Clock available in Chinese?
Yes. The app is now available in Simplified Chinese.

Weekly, monthly, or yearly subscription, no commitment, family sharing.

Good night, and may Allah grant you a peaceful dawn.

### 2.1.1 — 2026-09-18

The alarm keeps buzzing until you move, then it starts listening. Six changes to the alarm and the morning screen.

How does the alarm know I've actually gotten up?
After the dhikr, the alarm buzzes for as long as it takes you to get up, then it starts listening. It keeps shaking you until you move, stops on its own the moment you start walking, and stays with you through wudu.

Why does another notification pop up over the wake screen?
It doesn't anymore. Morning notifications take you straight to the wake screen, and nothing rings over it while you're there.

Why does the moon in the night-thirds widget jump from one third to the next?
It doesn't anymore. In the night-thirds widget, the moon now glides from one third to the next, and sits highest at the middle of the night.

Why does the muhasaba reminder go off during Isha at the mosque?
It doesn't anymore. The reminder now comes before you leave, never during the prayer.

Does the text finally have room on iPad?
Yes. On iPad, the text finally has the space it deserves.

Does my profile chart still stay empty after the questionnaire?
No. At the end of the questionnaire, your profile chart now fills in.

Do you fall back asleep after the alarm?
The rooster crow joins the alarm sounds. An authentic hadith says: "When you hear the crowing of roosters, ask for Allah's Blessings, for they have seen an angel" (Sahih al-Bukhari 3303). Real recorded roosters: one crows in the distance, a second answers if nothing happens, then the whole yard wakes up. Take it if you often fall back asleep, the bird sounds are enough if you're up within minutes, and if Radar already wakes you, keep it.

How do you choose without guessing wrong?
The rooster and the birds can now be previewed in settings before you choose.

Weekly, monthly, or yearly subscription, no commitment, family sharing.

Good night, and may Allah grant you a peaceful dawn.
