## What is Fajr O'Clock?

Sound like you? Three alarms set the night before, telling yourself you had taken the means.

So nobody needs to convince you to pray. You already want to. Fajr O'Clock lets your actions catch up with your intention.

The Sunnah describes three knots tied on the sleeper. The dhikr of waking unties the first, wudu the second, the prayer the last. Fajr O'Clock invents nothing: every technology in it serves to untie one of those knots, in that order.

BEFORE
Consistency never held, despite all the advice from brothers and sisters. Even copying them, nothing stuck.

FROM NOW ON
Fajr O'Clock is an adaptive smart alarm. From your difficulties, your goals and what you actually do, it forces the actions that break the cycle. You and your brother can live two very different experiences of the same app.

22:47 TONIGHT
Fajr is not missed at dawn. It is missed the night before, at the hour you push sleep away. On your home screen, the widget of the thirds of the night: how long you can delay Isha, when to lie down, when the last third begins. Muhasaba takes three minutes, the wudu reminder puts you to bed in a state of purity, the evening adhkar close the day. None of this is an app idea. It is the evening protocol of the Sunnah, put on your phone.

04:51 THE ALARM
An ordinary alarm rings at a fixed hour while dawn moves every day. Fajr O'Clock computes Fajr from your location and shifts the alarm every night, summer and winter. You set it once. Before Fajr for Qiyam, or after. It wakes you without music: gradual sounds, from birdsong to radar for the heaviest sleepers. The adhan will never be an alarm tone. We respect it too much for that.

04:53 THE FIRST KNOT
You have switched off an alarm with no memory of doing it. Or started your day scrolling instead of remembering Him. Fajr O'Clock waits for the invocation of waking, said out loud. Say it in Arabic or in one of ten languages. The first knot comes undone at the exact moment the authentic hadith says it does.

04:55 THE SECOND KNOT
Being awake is not being up. Three steps lead to the sink, and also to the sofa. So it does not call you up on the first movement. It waits for your body to move, and stays with you through wudu. Walk with the iPhone in your hand or your pocket, then set it down for the ablutions. The blue torch on Apple Watch lights your way without waking those who are exempt from praying. The app witnesses that you got up AND that you made wudu. Second knot undone.

05:20 THE SKY
Point the camera at the horizon: the app reads the light and confirms the entry of Fajr sadiq where you are, even when you wake at the last minute and doubt there is time left. The third knot, no application can untie for you. That is the one you needed an alarm for, one that bends technology to your need and to the Sunnah.

EVERY DAY
• Inside the sakina.day ecosystem: it talks to Basirah and Bayan.
• Prayer times from your location: MWL, UOIF 12 degrees, ISNA, Egypt, Turkey.
• Period mode: the alarm pauses, then resumes on its own when the time comes, in sha Allah.
• Siri, Control Center or the Smart Stack: your night and your consistency by week, month, year, tracked and under control.
• LED flash and vibration for deaf and hard of hearing brothers and sisters.

WHAT THE APP DOES NOT DO
No personal data collected. Your voice and everything the app senses stay on your phone, never recorded. No lectures, no guilt reminders, nobody between you and your prayer. The Sunnah described the path. The app marks it, then steps aside.

Weekly, monthly or yearly subscription, no commitment, Family Sharing. What you pay leaves you proof, morning after morning, that you truly took the means.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0 — 2026-09-02

Fajr O'Clock 2.0. Your iPhone or Apple Watch recognizes the sound of your ablutions live, and that's what dismisses the alarm.

How can the app know I actually did my ablutions?
It listens. The sound of water is recognized in real time, and you see it displayed on screen while you wash. Nothing to photograph, nothing to check off, nothing to prove afterwards.

I turn off the alarm, take three steps, and go back to bed.
That no longer works. Walking no longer dismisses the alarm: a backup alarm stays armed, and only disarms once your ablutions have begun. Version 1 dragged you out of bed. This one accompanies you all the way to wet elbows.

I prefer to leave my phone in the bedroom.
Then your Apple Watch does the listening, and that's enough. A renewal, complete ablutions, or a ghusl are recognized the same way. The duration changes, not the principle.

I perform tayammum, or I can't use water right now.
Then turn off the alarm by stating you have your ablutions via the wudu notification. The app only knows how to recognize water, and letting a backup alarm sound for someone who did what they were supposed to do would be our mistake.

New logo, reflecting the intention to serve a purpose: waking you up on time for Fajr.

### 1.0.13 — 2026-08-24

Your night, on your wrist.
The Apple Watch app took its time getting up. For an alarm app, that was awkward. Fixed.

Can I see the Fajr time without opening the app?
Yes. Four complications, straight on your watch face: the current third of the night with the moon's true phase, the Fajr time along the edge, the countdown on one line, and the three knots in the Smart Stack. Enough to fill an entire face without opening a single app.

How do I check the time at night without properly waking up?
Raise your wrist without waking the screen. Dimmed, the watch keeps only the moon and the time left before Fajr. Nobody wants a floodlight in the eye at that hour.

Is this going to send me even more notifications?
No, not one more. Not one. We counted twice. The Smart Stack brings your night up on its own, at bedtime and before Fajr: you find it there, it doesn't come after you.

Does it work without the iPhone?
Seven nights of calculations already in memory. The watch knows what time Fajr falls tomorrow, the day after, and five days further out — without asking the iPhone for anything.

Can I let the watch wake me?
No — and that's advice, not a limitation. Go into your watch settings and deny Fajr O'Clock permission to send its alerts there. The alarm stays on the iPhone.
On your wrist, a finger is enough to silence it, the buttons feel alike in the dark, and there's no voice recognition to check that you are actually up. If you are the kind who goes back to sleep, that is not a shortcut: it is the easiest way you can give yourself to sabotage your own alarm.
What you switch off at that moment isn't an alarm. It's the call.

The morning reminders
They had all the charm of a dialog box. They finally carry the app's own sky.

Double tap
A pinch turns on the light. And no, there is no pinching your way out of the steps or the wudu: we thought about it, then we thought better of it.

Can I ask Siri about my consistency?
Yes. "My consistency" and "The middle of the night" join the Shortcuts app and the Action button. A sentence to say or a button to press — take your pick, depending how awake you are.

The night's markers on your wrist are part of the subscription.

### 1.0.12 — 2026-08-04

Siri and Shortcuts now speak your language.

Until now, Fajr O'Clock's voice commands existed only in French. They are now available in all fifteen languages of the app.

Just ask:
• "Prayer time in Fajr O'Clock"
• "Last third in Fajr O'Clock"
• "Middle of the night in Fajr O'Clock"
• "Is my alarm set in Fajr O'Clock"
• "My consistency in Fajr O'Clock"

Three new commands:
• "Set the fajr alarm in Fajr O'Clock" — set the alarm without opening the app
• "Wake-up dhikr in Fajr O'Clock" — the first knot to untie
• "Evening ritual in Fajr O'Clock" — muhasaba, wudu, adhkar

sakina.day ecosystem
Fajr O'Clock passes the time of Maghrib to Basirah: if your evening muhasaba already happened there, Fajr O'Clock won't ask you a second time.

Prayer times and night markers in Siri and Shortcuts are part of the subscription.

### 1.0.11 — 2026-06-17

Minor fix

### 1.0.10 — 2026-05-28

Important fix + redesigned onboarding.

• Resolved an issue where some active subscribers were blocked from the app — thank you for your patience.
• Onboarding rebuilt on the Sunna: see what missing Fajr really costs (Bukhârî, Muslim) and why your past attempts didn't hold.
• Three knots. Three morning acts. One Fajr you won't miss again.
