Thank you for your understanding. ### 3/5 — a good example of why chatGPT should not be allowed to write and resign a game. *2023-05-31* this game is a huge disjointed mess. the devs have indicated that they used chatGPT in its design as well as in the writing of the story. what makes it twice as bad is that they used a poor translator or translation algorithm (or chatGPT itself) to translate it from their native language to english. what you end up with is something that looks pretty cool from the outside but makes absolutely no sense when you actually play it. Everyone talks about fears that AI will take over the planet and end humanity, but if this is the best it can do, i don't think we need to fear it at all. **Developer response:** Hello! So far the story looks fairly unique, I quite like how the game has small lore dumps about the characters and the history of how humanity got to where it is now in the game. 3. I am stuck on the connecting to Earth signal prompt. I have tried every button and checking every box yet it gives me the same error; “requesting user status info.” I’m not sure what to do at this point, I don’t want to delete it or give out a bad score but I think this is a big issue that needs to be addressed. I played on Android device, and now move to IOS device, do I have to start again now? **Developer response:** "Fake Future" can be logged in through Google accounts and iOS Game Center. Before logging in, please confirm the login channel and mobile system selection. ### 3/5 — good. could be better with updates *2023-05-15* i’ve been playing this for about 3 days now, and have a decent number of hours so far. overall, it’s a pretty good game. it’s got a pretty addicting gameplay loop and doesn’t seem to have anything annoying random stuff that messes with you. they also don’t shove ads down your throat unless you want bonus stuff, which is fair. i also really love pixel style graphics, so for me, this got me interested right away. the gameplay itself has a few different elements: building, resource management, and combat. all 3 are solid but there are some issues that can be frustrating. 1. sometimes you can’t exit or leave a screen. whether it’s a tutorial or just a random instance when you’re playing, you’ll get stuck on a screen as you’re navigating through the ui and have to reboot the game to resume playing. 2. items will become “stuck” during architect(build) mode. you won’t be able to highlight certain items and will have to exit the mode and then enter back in. the game will also say you can’t place an item even though there’s nothing obstructing it. these aren’t the biggest deal, but it can get annoying if you’re rearranging your city and you have a lot of stuff placed down. 3. during combat, the “button” you use to stop the pointer doesn’t work a lot of the time. you’ll tap the screen to stop it but nothing happens. you’ll then have to tap it over and over again to hopefully get it to stop. this is pretty annoying since the combat’s all about timing, so constantly having to tap to stop the pointer can cause you to miss, and even lose a battle. i’m playing on the newest ipad pro but get the same issue on my iphone. 4. micro-transactions. i’m not saying there shouldn’t be any, but they sell characters and don’t tell you how they’re levelled up/evolved at any point if/after you buy them. i’ve held off spending any money in this because i’m not sure how that works. for example; if they’re selling, “x character”, does that mean they’re added to the character pool in the gatcha system once you pay for them? it says it’s a one-time only purchase, but you can upgrade all the free characters up to 5-stars, so do the paid characters start at 5-stars? how do you get more of them if it’s a one-time purchase only character? would be nice to have some clarification on this. those are the things that make this a 3/5 for me. if they fix those issues and continue to support the game to improve the quality of life, it’d be an easy 5/5 for me, and i’d gladly support them by buying stuff. they seems to be doing things right in terms of not being greedy and letting you play without being like, “hey, you know you can speed things up and have better stuff if you spend more money, right???”. that being said, as it is now, it’s pretty rough around the edges and doesn’t exactly instil confidence for me to spend any money yet. **Developer response:** Thank you for your support and feedback. It’s only because I’m sitting here with the flu that I decided to take a punt on Apples recommendations for me - mostly through boredom. And I’m so glad I did (so far). It’s smooth, beautifully presented, has excellent music, and looks to have a lot of depth as well as humour, and an interesting story. The gameplay and content of this wasteland punk game is mainly about construction and exploration, which easily satisfies my desire to collect and gradually increases my interest. The game is designed with ChatGPT which does cause the game to seem like a big mess of different features, which is something i actually like a lot. Makes it more fun.one thing that is very poor is translation and i somewhat think the AI in the game is a bit self conscious. The story is fun and building an imaginary future like what the game promised is enticing. While yes, there are slight translation issues with the English version (at one point, the text was all in Mandarin instead of English) and the storylines/diaries/pedia can be a little wordy, overall the game is fun. However, i’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong or if this is a bug or not, but i am unable to build anything outside of the original area. I’ve successfully expanded my territory but i’m unable to place any building in this new open patch.
