When I export a MIDI file, the left-hand notes are completely missing or merged into the right hand, so only the right-hand blocks drop. In the app's playback screen, both hands are displayed correctly, but the exported MIDI file only contains the right hand. I am a premium user and use this app all the time. Please fix this MIDI export bug as soon as possible. Thank you. **Developer response:** Thank you for the detailed report, and for being a daily premium user! Good news: this isn't a bug. In a recent update we split MIDI export into two separate files, one for the left hand and one for the right. If you'd rather have them combined, there's a toggle in Settings to export a single merged file instead. Hope that clears it up and we apologize for confusing you or messing with your work flow. Merci d'avoir essayé l'app ! ### 1/5 — Stupidly built app *2026-04-21* The only good thing about this app is that the ai beats out all the other ai transcription services I’ve tried. That’s where the good ends, I can’t even add notes that the ai missed or bring back notes I removed on accident. If I want to edit the piano roll at all (which is done in the practice mode), I then have no way of getting to from the practice mode to the edit mode where I can actually change colors and effects to make it look good. Then they have the audacity to ask for subscribers and include an ai helper that just lies about features. Overall this app needs a lot of work to actually work properly because right now I’m stuck being unable to fix the ai’s mistakes and on top of that I can’t even edit the video if I try to fix the piano roll. FIX YOUR APP, these mechanics are so simple to add when you already have most of what’s needed here. **Developer response:** Hi, Thanks for the kind words about the AI transcription — glad it's beating the others you've tried. A few corrections on the rest, because there's a real misunderstanding about how Falling Note is structured: Practice Mode and the Video Editor are two separate modes by design. Practice Mode is exclusively for practicing along with a piece — it is not a video editing surface and was never meant to be. The Video Editor is where you change colors, effects, restore removed notes, and export tutorial videos. They don't flow into each other mid-session because they serve different purposes. This is covered in both the walkthrough and the App Store description. On your specific points: • Restoring accidentally removed notes already works — in the Video Editor. • Adding notes the AI missed is a genuinely complex feature, and it's in active development. When it ships, it'll be available in both modes — not exclusive to either. • The AI helper does not lie about features. It's grounded in the app's actual codebase and only knows what Falling Note can and cannot do. It has no outside training or capability to invent features. If you got an answer that didn't match the app, send the exact question through support and I'll look at it. Nothing you've described is broken. The features you want either already exist in the right mode or are being built. Instead of a whole month. **Developer response:** Hey, thanks so much for the kind words about the app. I wanted to share some context on the pricing. Falling Note is built and run entirely by me - one solo developer in my early 20s, coding this out of my bedroom and funding the whole thing out of pocket. Every transcription the app generates actually costs real money on the backend (the AI audio processing isn't cheap), so every time someone uses the service, I'm paying for that compute. On top of that, I've put an enormous amount of time into making this exist. Unfortunately, there's just no realistic way an app like this could be fully free. The two free transcriptions a month exist specifically so people can try it out and decide whether it's worth it before paying. ATM It's the most generous sample I can offer without the whole thing becoming unsustainable. ### 2/5 — Transcript is accurate but you can only use it twice before you have to pay for it. *2026-06-25* The transcribing is very accurate and I have no complaints for it, but you can only use it twice for free and then you have to pay. WHY *2026-06-17* I tried this app first a week or so ago and it worked amazing. It’s a really cool concept and works well, but when I tried to put the second video in, it freezes right at the “transcribe” button when processing a new video. Why is this happening?? I’ve deleted and reinstalled it and restarted my phone and tried multiple videos but after the first one it just freezes every time at the same spot.
