I never noticed this YEARS ago when I first played Fallout 4. I went to download it and this app is really cool and it’s super clean and smooth and looks just like and functions just like the Pip Boy menu in the game. However, I quickly found out it’s not compatible with the PS5 version of the game. It’s only compatible with the PS4. Sure, my first time trying to use it didn’t end well, but my second time was great. It has all of the benefits of pressing tab, and more, all without pressing tab. What I mean is, it’s the pip-boy menu, but better, because you can essentially have your inventory open while fighting, So you can have a touchscreen to change to that one weapon you carry around for specific tasks, but haven’t favorited really quick. Or, spam nuka-colas while using the minigun. It really is just a benefit either way. Best part, the case, sure, expensive things meant for a free app USUALLY isn’t a great thing, but the pip-boy case only exists for immersion, it’s optional. Not to mention offline mode, not playing, but want to look at a possibly outdated save? Go for it. Outdated in the form of my app version doesn’t have Righteous Authority, which I’ve had for a while now. Essentially, cool concept, executed well. I PERSONALLY wouldn’t recommend it, but that is personal preference, it’s good. It’s really just, done well. You know it’s good when a guy who prefers to not use it says it’s done perfectly. Not to mention the holo-tape accessibility. Waiting for a sniping target to get into view? Play Atomic Command or something. Also, switching radios quickly. I know most people listen to radios. (Me among them, occasionally, during a long trip.) So, this works well. Now, I know I have said a lot, but this is a good app, novel, sure, necessary, absolutely not, But it’s good. I’ve tried it, the feeling of changing weapons without even touching the keyboard feels nice. Alright, this has gone on long enough.
