Family Magnet is a shared board for the whole family. Most family matters aren't worth a phone call, but left unsaid they slip through the cracks - who's cooking tonight, are we out of soy sauce, what time are we visiting Grandpa on Saturday, did the utilities get paid? These messages scatter across group chats and vanish after a couple of scrolls. Family Magnet gives them a fixed place. BOARD Write a note and the whole family sees it. Who's seen it, who liked it, who said thanks - all at a glance. One note can go to several boards at once: one board for you and your partner, another for you and your parents. Neither side sees the other's content. CALENDAR See who has plans on which day at a glance. Ask "Are you coming?" and family replies with a single tap. Important dates come with reminders, so nothing slips your mind. HOME A shared grocery list anyone can add to. Check it before heading out, tick things off when you're back. Expenses are tracked by category, so you can see where the month went. Snap a receipt to log it - no typing needed. CHATS One-on-one private messages. Some things are just between the two of you. MADE FOR THE LEAST TECH-SAVVY IN THE FAMILY Big icons, big text, few layers - parents and grandparents can use it too. Joining needs no sign-up: a family member reads you a six-digit code, you type it in, and you're in. Express your mood with emoji, weather, and flowers - no typing needed to let family know you're okay. PRIVACY No ads, no profiling, no selling data. Boards are strictly isolated from each other - enforced at the database level, not merely hidden by the interface. You can delete your account inside the app at any time. ## Is Family Magnet safe? On iPhones not set to Chinese, the home-screen name now reads Family Magnet. Expense totals are now calculated separately for each currency, instead of adding ¥ and $ amounts together. Fixed an issue where syncing could fail for families with many notes and events. ### 2.1.2 — 2026-09-18 Board messages no longer get lost: new shopping lists, added items, and new events now show system notices that everyone in the family can see. Mood check-ins now sync too, so family members can see each other's mood in the floating panel. Pinning is now open to everyone in the family, not just the person who posted. When an event is deleted, its board notice disappears too; repeated edits to an event no longer spam multiple notices. Shopping lists can now be renamed and moved to a different board. Added a "Gathering" event category and removed the RSVP (going/maybe/not going) feature. Added more interface translations. Fixed an issue where inviting a newly added family member could occasionally show an error. On first launch you can go straight to "I have an invite code" — no need to set up your own profile and board first. ### 2.1 — 2026-09-17 Board messages no longer get lost: new shopping lists, added items, and new events now show system notices that everyone in the family can see.
