## What is Family Wellness CheckIn?

Family Check-In keeps a family quietly connected — and gets help moving fast when
something goes wrong.

Each family member has a check-in timer. Tap once to check in, and everyone sees
you're okay. Miss it, and the family is notified — no one has to remember to ask,
and no one has to wonder.

CHECK-INS THAT FIT REAL LIFE
• A simple timer per person, set to the interval that suits them
• One tap to check in, with your location attached if you want it shared
• Travel mode for shorter intervals when someone is away
• A shared family view showing who's due, who's overdue, and who just checked in
• Home Screen widgets and a Live Activity so your timer is visible without opening
  the app

EMERGENCY SOS
• Hold to send an SOS with your location to the whole family
• Delivered as a critical alert, so it breaks through Silent mode and Focus
• Family members see the alert until it's resolved, then it clears itself
• Checking in cancels the alert for everyone

FALL DETECTION ON APPLE WATCH
• Opt in, and your Watch can detect a hard fall and alert your family if you don't
  respond
• Off until you turn it on, and switchable off at any time
• Your Watch reports the fall itself when it can, and your iPhone relays it when the
  Watch can't reach the network

ON YOUR WRIST
• A full Apple Watch app: check in, see the family, and send an SOS from your wrist
• Complications to keep your timer on your watch face

BUILT FOR ONE FAMILY
Family Check-In is not a social network. There are no strangers, no feeds, and no
discovery. A family administrator creates accounts and sends an invite; there is no
public sign-up. Everyone in the family sees the same information, because that is
the point — nobody is being monitored without knowing it.

PRIVACY
Your location is shared only with your own family, only when you check in or raise
an alert. There are no ads, no trackers, and your data is never sold.

IMPORTANT
Family Check-In alerts your family members. It does not contact emergency services
and is not a medical device or a monitored emergency-response service. In an
emergency, call your local emergency number. Fall detection may not detect every
fall.

Requires an invite from a family administrator to sign in.

This update refreshes the app's underlying components, including the libraries that handle sign-in and secure communication with your family's server.

There are no changes to features or how the app works. Everything you use day to day stays exactly where it is.

This update fixes the check-in countdown on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island:

• The progress bar now moves smoothly and always matches the time remaining.
• Fixed the bar showing as full right when a timer starts, and occasionally refilling after a timer had already ended.
• The overdue message is now accurate about whether your family has been notified.

Also includes reliability improvements to check-in reminders and missed-check-in alerts.

Fixed a few bugs and made check-in reminders more reliable, including on widgets and Apple Watch.

Fall Detection for Apple Watch: opt in, and if your Watch detects a hard fall and you don't respond, your family gets a critical alert with your location — even when your phone is silenced.
