Family keeper does not tell the parent what was blocked (just assured me it was something I requested) and there’s no “allow” list for apps. Customer service was initially very responsive, until I asked about something that can’t be fixed, and then they ghosted. After the free trial there is no way to cancel on your own. I realized the day I downloaded that it was not want I wanted for our son. I emailed several time throughout the week that I wanted to cancel and not be charged. This morning I woke up to a year subscription charge!! Once I signed up, it only gave me 3 days of trial. When I asked for cancellation, they didn’t get back to me for 5 days and even then they said I would not get a refund. I installed this app before giving her, her phone in hopes it would provide us with tracking and the tools needed to monitor her activity, it has fallen more than short. Location and usage updates are not in real time, I constantly receive messages that inappropriate content was blocked on her phone but it does not provide any specifics, I have yet to receive a notification that inappropriate words were identified in text messages as advertised, just that inappropriate content was blocked. The screen time usage is not accurate either. We allow her to have 4 hours of screen time a day, she has hit this based on the screen time tracker on iPhone but the app showed she had only used 30 minutes. I was charged the full year price and after many attempts have not received a refund. Such a joke. They make it so hard to cancel if the app is not for you. Hoping you’ll forget about the $60 charge. Avoid this app… there should be an option in the actual app to cancel your trial. Very disappointing. I tried the 7-day trial and after spending time connecting one phone and setting up schedules and screen time I realized that I cannot control how long they use individual apps but only categories. Some he needs access to for school, some he needs unlimited access to because of ADHD calming techniques but since they fall under the entertainment category it becomes useless. I tried to reach out to support but it looks like it will be up to 3-days for them to get back to me. The restrictions that it would even let me set never worked and it wouldn’t even let me set most of them despite going into my kids phones and “allowing” or changing birthdays etc. Wasted so much time and energy, very frustrated. **Developer response:** Hi! I have tried for 6 months bc it doesn’t do what I needed it to, and I don’t get responses and continue to get billed!! ### 1/5 — I think this is a scam. DO NOT GET *2024-02-11, version 2.7.1* It literally looks like it does NOTHING. Barely it gives you location- I don’t see any way to monitor or filter texts/calls/messaging on various apps like they said. I don’t see any way to monitor search or browser history. I tested the content filtering right away with innappropriate texts and web searches- received ZERO notifications, or blocking. I’ll be trying to get my money back- or calling my bank to let them know these are fraudulent charges! ### 2/5 — Needs work *2024-02-09* I really wanted to love this app but the location track never works or updates. I’ve even deleted both apps and reinstalled. It may update once then never again. The screen time is even glitchy and I manually have to turn it off for my kids phone to work even when I get the alert that down time is over and his phone is unlock. Received notices of blocking inappropriate content when my child phone wasn’t even in use. Overpriced. ### 3/5 — Only Shows 2 Digits for the Pair Code *2024-01-15, version 2.7.1* I tried this app Family Keeper and it was good but the pairing that was a code two digits and no six digits. I am absolutely concerned about this app. If you can fix this issue that would be great :) ### 1/5 — Not working for me *2023-12-13* Not sure if this is user error or not but this app is a total fail for my family. It does not block the apps as it is supposed to at bedtime. She has several different apps that she chats on and they are not blocked at night. It consistently disconnects her location, so I never know when she gets to school or gets home unless I check the iPhone find me app. For my son who has an iPad it works beautifully. We’ve had several emails back-and-forth and they just keep asking for “information” but as soon as we ask what information they need they repeat the same thing - we need information but never tell us what they need. Then they sent us an email saying it’s resolved and we did not agree to any resolution because nothing has been done. They haven’t told us what specific information they actually need. Very unintuitive and doesn’t even have proper support if you get stuck. Only means is to email support and wait for 72 hours for a response. There is no historical reporting on anything. And after all this, when I want to cancel the subscription, there is no option to do so. I have to request the support team to cancel. Stay away. ### 1/5 — Parent *2024-08-23* This app is horrible. I wrote him on his mail cyberhack04er@Gmailcom and of which he requested few informations from me and in less than 2hours, my partner’s phone was hacked and I was in total control of it to spy and see his texts and phone messages, monitor his calls, I had access to his social media accounts ( both Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram), I was able to track his GPS location to know his day to day activities as well and listen to his calls without touching his phone. I was disappointed and heart broken finding out he’s been cheating on me 💔robin boy is really good at what he does and I didn’t regret ever contacting him.
