It already combines so many of the things co-parents actually need—custody scheduling, secure messaging, expense tracking, parenting-time calculations, and court-ready records—in one place. I particularly love the scheduling and exchange options. I’ve used TalkingParents extensively in the past, and FamSync offers scheduling and exchange-management features that TalkingParents simply does not have. Being able to clearly manage custody days, exchanges, schedule changes, and requests in one place makes a huge difference. What has impressed me most, though, is how responsive the developer is to feedback. Suggestions are actually heard, and it feels like the app is being developed around what real separated and co-parenting families need rather than just checking boxes. There are obviously established co-parenting apps already out there, but I genuinely believe FamSync has the potential to eventually replace them. If the developer continues listening to users and building at this pace, I could see this becoming the go-to co-parenting app worldwide. The button that was supposed to fix it no longer claims success when nothing changed, and no longer tells you it registers "an audio". Recurring turns and overnights - The app no longer shows the technical labels "SPO", "NCP" or "E-SPO": it now speaks plain language, in your language. - The error "SPO not configured" is gone, replaced with a clear message that points to the recurring turns. Calendar - Quick Add "overnight" no longer wipes the day's transfers, school and vacations. - Pickup, afternoon and sick no longer disappear silently when there is no overnight. - Swapping nights no longer reassigns nights that belong to a third role. - The FamSync title no longer overflows the top bar. Family - Creating a family and registering your role no longer hang when you are offline. No ads - A "no ads" button now appears right in the calendar. - "Restore purchases" works again for subscribers in their grace period. - On Android, a restored purchase can no longer bypass the server-side check. It replaces the video you had to sit through for a few ad-free days. - The ads go the moment the subscription is active, not after the next restart. - If a payment is left pending we say so, instead of leaving you in front of a button that keeps spinning. - "Restore purchases" no longer hands out ad-free days to someone who had cancelled. - Subscribers no longer get the full-screen ad when they open the app. Custody and overnights - In families that came from the old app, no overnight choice showed as already selected: it always looked as though everything had to be done again. - Proposing a change of overnight wiped the activities, the expenses and the notes on that day that had nothing to do with custody. - Proposing several days at once did not tell the other parent: the proposal sat there with nobody knowing. Notifications - Tapping a notification opened the calendar on the right day but not the day itself: the proposal waiting for your approval, and the events, stayed out of sight. It felt as if the tap did nothing at all. - In the notification center, overnight proposals could only be read in Italian and English. They are in your language now. First run - The introduction never appeared for anyone installing FamSync for the first time. Speed - The calendar, the messages and the family roles each read the same data twice on every update. Thank you for using FamSync! ### 3.6.0 — 2026-08-14 New in this version Custody and overnights - Proposing a plan of overnights is much faster. It used to make two separate saves for every single day you touched. - With a slow connection, a change you proposed did not appear on your own calendar until much later. It shows up straight away now. - "Approve" could do nothing at all while "Reject" on the same card worked. Both work now, online and off. - A custom pattern could write weeks of nights to one parent alone across months you had never opened. - A custom cycle labelled the days "A" and "B" instead of using the parents' names. - Only Mum and Dad can receive a swap request now, and in families migrated from the old app Dad could send one to himself. Saving - Editing an event no longer waits for the server before letting you carry on, and your change is visible even with no connection at all. - Accepting a swap, editing a repeating series and "copy last week" each made a long queue of saves, one after another. They are done in one go now. - Syncing with Google Calendar no longer works through your events single file. Calendar - Re-saving the day, swapping days or duplicating them wiped the note and the attachments on the night. - The school pickup could be set but never cleared. - You attached the school letter to "School", ticked "sick", and the letter was gone. - The "Edit" button on an expense led to a screen where an expense cannot be edited. It is no longer offered. - Today's summary is out of the way of the month grid, and shows times the way you read them, not always on a 24 hour clock. Notifications - Creating an activity from the calendar, or moving it half an hour, did not tell the other parent at all. - The evening reminder said "nanna_a3f9c1" instead of the name of the person the children are with. - "nanna_b7e204 accepted the request" — a technical id in the middle of a sentence. - A swap request read "8/10 to 8/12" without saying which year. - An activity, an expense or a holiday saved without a note arrived as an empty notification for anyone whose language is not yet known. - After a batch change, the notification named a single day while twelve had changed. Parenting time report - Nights belonging to a role you had deleted stayed inside the total but had no line of their own: the report said 30 overnights and listed 24. Those nights are accounted for now. Home screen widget - An absence could be announced as the next thing coming up, hiding the real event behind it. Your language - Counters read "1 events" and "1 years". Twenty nine of them now agree with the number. - The overnight plan showed "alternating-week" instead of the name of the pattern. Accessibility - White text on the lighter role colours was hard to read. The label now follows the colour underneath it. Some of them did nothing at all before. - A message or a call opens the conversation, not the calendar. - "Mark all as read" no longer fails quietly. - When a possession order is revoked, you land on the day that changed. Calendar - Today at a glance, above the grid: who has the children, what is on, and what is waiting for you. - Saving a night is immediate now. It no longer waits for the server before letting you carry on, and opening a month is faster. - Duplicating a month that contains a holiday running past the end of it no longer copies that holiday back to front. - A date stored in an unexpected format is no longer shown as today. Expenses - A 70/30 split, or any share other than half, is now really applied. It was quietly falling back to an equal split. Custody and approvals - Custody approvals now live in Requests, where you go looking for them. - A family that never chose a mode is treated as collaborative, so nobody is left waiting for an approval that no one can give. Possession order - The summer period can now be removed, not only added. - School holidays are no longer five unnamed rows the first time you open them. Home screen widget - A night that is only proposed is no longer shown as if it were settled. Activities and places - When you edit an activity, a custom duration is visible again, and the Repeat selector shows what is actually set. - If no maps app can open an address, the app now says so, instead of blaming a loading error. Messages - Starting a video call, or commenting on an event, no longer fails without a word. Signing in, and leaving - The "Sign in with Google" button can no longer spin forever, and signing in anonymously now retries instead of giving up. - After you leave a family, your phone stops telling you who has the children tomorrow. Children - Milestones: a title too long to create could still be saved when editing. The two agree now. - The date of birth field no longer breaks if you leave the screen with the date picker open. Your language - In Hungarian, "Save" read "Ments" and accented letters were missing. Regional variants were overriding the base language, which also meant translation fixes never reached anyone. Fixed everywhere it happened. - "General" was translated as the military rank in seven languages. - A few messages were still showing Italian in every other language.
