Not everyone uses their iPad in the traditional orientation, and having an app that won’t rotate to conform is disappointing. When you name your fans the text block shows nothing so you have to guess. This app is laughable at best, when it works. You tried though i guess right? ### 1/5 — The app can no longer find the fan *2020-05-30, version 3.6* The remote can’t find the fan, either, so it’s probably because the fan isn’t working, not because of the app. Yet these come from the same company, so I’m posting here for anyone thinking about their fans. Ours has only been installed for 18 months. This happened once before, and turning the circuit breaker off and on got it working again, but that’s not making it work this time. ### 1/5 — Statue fan w/BTR9U *2020-03-27, version 3.6* Fanimation.. this is so close. I don’t know what’s wrong with the app but the fan is a brick. It no longer talks with my phone. I’ve used the Android version as well and haven’t had any better luck. It doesn’t even want to try on either. Soon as I pull from the top to refresh is just says no fans in range. Instantly snaps back. When I see the receiver in the Bluetooth menu it asks for a code. No code is given anywhere. Just “connect to your phone via app” bipitybopitybo It. Doesn’t. Work. Just tried resetting my phone. It seems fanimation learned since their WiFi product rather higher than the abysmal two stars here! China, please design an app that works for these fans. ### 1/5 — no fan direction? *2021-12-29, version 3.6* I use this app for bluetooth connection. it paired and worked instantly. The only issue so far is this app doesn’t have winter/summer button to change fan direction. and whenever I turn on the fan via this app, it is in summer mode (air down direction). Please add the direction button and remember the last direction setting. update: it’s worse than I thought. all I need is to launch the app the fan changes direction. and the app doesn’t even attempt to read the latest speed state either. it launched at full speed. will be deleting this app. ### 1/5 — Total failure *2021-12-09, version 3.6* This app will only load first page which is useless without other pages. I have 2 fans/lights in the same room. ### 5/5 — FanSync working great! *2018-12-03, version 3.4* I’ve got 6 Fanimation fans and have them all connected via fanSync. I can adjust the on/off and speed of both the lights and fans. Works well. Doesn’t always find the fan until I move close enough but that’s a factor of Bluetooth. I love how I was able to control each fan independently from my phone. The other control options I tried would cause the lights not to be in sync. I would recommend this to anyone who has a ceiling fan. Please note: You must purchase the compatible receiver in order to use the app. ### 4/5 — Ugly basic app that works *2022-06-13, version 3.6* I had low expectations for this aspect of my new fan, didn’t even realize it had app control. As far as smart home tech goes, it’s super basic and BT only isn’t awesome - but it works if you are too lazy to get up and find the remote. It seems to get out of sync if you use multiple input devices at the same time. It’s not been updated for various screen sizes. The app has worked flawlessly every time. The interface is a bit clunky but it’s easy to use and understand. I turned off and back on the power source (wall switch) and synced up right away.
