However the last few months it keeps de-syncing with Alexa every couple of weeks and you need to sync again. I have reported this to customer service but they said it’s working ok. But so many people posting here that it’s happening to them. Hope they would fix it. ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2025-11-10, version 3.1.21* Fan is great, app is terrible. Really, there is so much you can do with smart devices nowadays they have no excuse why this app doesn’t even do the simplest tasks. I’ve tried and tried to hook up my Fanimation fans to this app. And all I get is error messages with no explanation as to how to fix the problem. How can you subject people to this? I just installed an app from another fan company. It took 5 mins and everything works perfectly. They’re great fans, but the remotes for them hardly work. I relied on the app for a while since it gave me less problems. Now I can’t get into the app. It just sits there after I’ve entered my credentials and literally does nothing. I’ve reset my password. Still absolutely nothing. I would not recommend Fanimation fans as a result of being virtually unable to actually control them. The app regularly doesn’t work well which I will address but one problem I have is that I purchased and installed 3 Kute fans and one Hugh fan. The FanSync app works with the Kute fans but not with the Hugh fan. I’m not sure why Fanimation would sell fans that don’t work with the FanSync app. Anyway, I gave the app 2 stars mainly because when it is working it’s great. But it doesn’t work often. When it doesn’t work, the controls for the fan won’t work. For instance you move a slider and it will go back to the original position. You click a button to turn on the fan and it won’t turn on. One work around I found works is that I restart my device then everything works. I use an iPad and an iPhone. Also doesn’t work with Apple HomeKit. Fanimation needs to fix this. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work at all *2025-04-03, version 3.1.2* I can’t even to log in. I created an account with one email couple years ago. Never was able to connect to the fan. Recently I got a new modem and decided to try it again. I updated the password but the app gives me a message that I use a wrong password or login. The installation process is antiquated and prone to errors. I’ve tried every possible setting on my WiFi. But even the app itself crashes mid setup. Needs an update or a fix. Very sad to see it’s been a year since the last app update. Would make me think twice before buying this brand again in the future. ### 1/5 — Uggh *2026-07-29, version 3.1.21* Totally non-functional connectivity. The atrocious iconography on the physical remote should have clued me in. Completely broken network functionality. Look elsewhere if you want something that works. ### 1/5 — Poor connectivity and function *2026-07-13, version 3.1.21* Almost every time I open the app it tells me it is taking a long time to connect and I should check my network, when I know the Wi-Fi in my house is working just fine, and other apps on my phone are working just fine. The slider used to control the fan speed will almost always bounce back to its original position while I am trying to adjust it, and it will take several tries to keep it at the percentage I want it to be set at. It doesn’t need to be great, but it should work. The never ending loop to get a fan added. It’ll make you question everything on your network. The. Out of the blue it connects. But will it work. No. No it will not. The fans are nice. The app is trash. The controllers are trash. And the tech support is trash. RUN!!! ### 1/5 — Cannot connect more than 1 fan *2026-06-08, version 3.1.21* The app gives you the option of remembering the network to which you add the first fan. If you do this, you can’t add any more fans because it does not allow you to forget the network, and it also will not allow you to select the correct network for adding any subsequent fans. This still happens even with deleting and reinstalling the app and deleting and making a new account. ### 1/5 — Unable to connect to fans *2026-04-30, version 3.1.21* Using the app I can get my fans connected to my home wifi, but the so refuses to find them. ### 1/5 — Pretty Bad *2026-04-18, version 3.1.21* It’s a pretty bad app. If you’re having issues, try signing in and out of the app. I was connecting from a new phone it wasn’t in the app and I couldn’t re-pair or share from my old phone to get it to show up. While troubleshooting this app I figured out the SmartThings app also connects and seems to be more reliable. ### 1/5 — I’ve had enough *2026-03-09, version 3.1.21* This fan is 6 years old. I have had many, many events where the sync to WiFi went offline requiring closing the app then reopening or reconnecting or signing out then logging in. Unable to dim (dimmable LED’s) bulbs ever. I am finally going to get rid of it. ### 1/5 — Beautiful Fan bad app *2025-12-26, version 3.1.21* I have installed three of the WiFi hubs (which were sent for free) to try and get hooked up to Alexa or be able to access from my phone. My third attempt and it failed again. I will just have to settle for a beautiful fan that will not connect via phone or Alexa. I’ve had 2 Fanimation fans for a few years and have gotten by on their buggy app. But slowly but surely it’s gotten more solid and finally pretty much just works. ### 5/5 — This App update provided new way to connect to fan/light via Smart Things *2026-02-25, version 3.1.21* This is truly good news. This app no longer needed to sync and operate my fan/lights requiring username and password. The Smart Things App connects to Fanimations and allow user to connect directly to WiFi with one click. ### 5/5 — Works With TriAire Custom 48 *2025-10-02, version 3.1.21* This worked fine for me with a TriAire Custom 48 inch fan both lights and fan on my local WiFi. I cannot speak to remote use or voice activation and I think folks should give this a try if they want to control their fan and light over their local network. ### 5/5 — No issues! The app has worked flawlessly and is extremely simple to use.
