## What is Fanti?

Fanti is a drill for Taiwanese Mandarin vocabulary in traditional characters. It shows one word at a time. You say whether you remembered it, and spaced repetition decides when you see it again.

WHAT IS INSIDE

- All 7,517 words of the Mandarin Chinese 8000 Word List published by SC-TOP, in its seven levels: Novice 1 (160), Novice 2 (234), Level 1 (347), Level 2 (485), Level 3 (1,173), Level 4 (2,342) and Level 5 (2,776)
- Hanyu Pinyin and Zhuyin (Bopomofo) for every word, and the part of speech the list gives
- An English meaning for 7,504 of the words
- Stroke order for each character: tap a character on the back of the card and it is drawn one stroke at a time
- A Listen button that reads the word aloud with the Taiwanese Mandarin voice on your device
- Spaced repetition with six boxes; words you miss come back in the same session
- Progress by level, and a day count you are free to ignore

DATA

The word list, the level, the Pinyin and the part of speech come from the Mandarin Chinese 8000 Word List (華語八千詞表), published by the Steering Committee for the Test Of Proficiency-Huayu (SC-TOP). English meanings come from CC-CEDICT, used under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License. Stroke order comes from Make Me a Hanzi, used under the Arphic Public License. Zhuyin was generated from the Pinyin of that word list. This app is not affiliated with or endorsed by SC-TOP or the organisers of the TOCFL.
