### 4/5 — Gorgeous

*2023-11-05*

What a beautiful story. I very much loved this game, very relaxing and calming. The one thing I wish it had was opposing dialogues though, a lot of what the character dialogue choices meant the same thing. Which is probably staying true to the character but doesn’t give much creative liberty to the person putting themselves in the characters shoes. For instance I would have continued to stargazing scene for longer. Or with the badger, it was a good lesson, I just wish the character would have fully been able to change her mind about the badger. Great game though, beautiful art and a nice pace. It was nice how we could pause the game.

### 2/5 — Not sure

*2023-01-22*

Neat concept but the story drags way too long, the dialog is poorly written and philosophical concepts are underwhelming.

Not bad if the app was free, but not worth paying for.

### 3/5 — Not bad.

*2021-10-10*

It’s poetic and lovely, but I couldn’t help thinking there should be a bit more to it.

### 2/5 — Too slow, even for a narrative game

*2019-11-23*

I usually love narrative games, but this was like listening to a long monologue about existence from someone who loves the sound of their own voice with no opportunity to contribute to the narrative. The protagonist dialog choices were all throw-away lines, so the point really does seem to be to read someone else's stream of consciousness writing. And after half an hour of playing it, I don't feel like anything developed or moved forward. It gets two stars for being really pretty, and for being a neat idea that was just poorly executed in my opinion.

### 3/5 — For cutesy people

*2019-10-02*

It’s a beautiful design but the story is trying to be deep and just ends up sounding so annoying, like it was written by a kawaii girl, that lived a protected life and now is trying to be relatable. If this weren’t so aggravating, I would be playing another round to see if your choices actually matter in the in a story-based game, but man. The dialogue and the wording is terrible. But the looks are great, gotta give it to them.

### 5/5 — Amazing immersion

*2019-09-05*

Amazing game, amazing soundtrack. The dialogue is thoughtful, real, emotional and made me feel immersed in the game at all times. Could not recommend enough and I’m going to play again for sure.

### 5/5 — Worth it

*2019-09-04*

I also have clinical depression and anxiety, so my answers tended to reflect that, but I enjoyed the outcome. I felt it was beautiful and fitting. That’s just me, but I wanted to add that for anyone that was worried about downloading this. It’s definitely not the happiest experience, but I cried and felt less alone afterwards.

### 5/5 — Far From Noise is Elegantly Beautiful

*2019-08-03*

Let’s start by saying that this game is mesmerizing. A positively excellent story game with stunning visuals provided most games with impressive visuals tend to lag, this game is designed on simplicity, but using it to their full advantage. The story was longer that I thought; thinking this was going to be a two minute experience, I was a blown away by the length. The concept of you and a deer exchanging dialog about life and death and the meaning and value of things is brilliantly executed. Far From Noise displays a captivating story with thoughtful writing and really gets the player to stop and think, it’s calming music adds so much to the world and I would not play this game without headphones. This game is perfect for what it is and if you’re looking for a truly mesmerizing story, trust me, it’s well worth the money.

### 5/5 — A powerful story

*2019-08-02*

This is definitely not a “game”. It’s a story, and an incredible one at that. When I finally reach the end I was deeply moved. Not all stories are in books or movies. Some stories are far from lawyers.

### 5/5 — Its ok

*2019-07-20, version 1.1*

Theres a deer so thats good

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2019-06-30, version 1.1*

Forget what the others say ;) This work of art is truly amazing, while defiantly not a game; it is totally worth the price!

### 5/5 — Amazing.

*2019-06-11*

First off, this really isn’t a “game.” It’s even less interactive than so-called “walking sims.” You have dialogue choices and that’s it.

But that’s really not what this experience is about. If you want gameplay you’re in the wrong place, and it irks me so many people have slammed this game for being “boring.” IT IS NOT A GAME. How did anyone spend money on this without realizing what they were getting into?! To those folks, it’s your own fault for not being more discerning.

This is a story. A slow and thoughtful one that requires patience. At times it is even quite funny. But it can also be emotionally crushing. If you are willing to immerse yourself in the experience and take the story at its own pace, you will discover something moving, wonderful, intense, sad, and thought-provoking. I’ve rarely in my life has such a strong emotional reaction to a piece of media as I did to this.

Absolutely 100% recommended for anyone interested in a bittersweet story about one’s own meaning and place in the world.

### 3/5 — Too Hot

*2019-04-11, version 1.1*

I love the game, but it literally makes my phone overheat after only playing for 10 minutes.

### 3/5 — Need help

*2019-01-15, version 1.1*

I am unable to adjust any of the settings. I have no sound, very sluggish reading, and nothing that really holds my interest. How do I add the music etc?

### 2/5 — Meh

*2019-01-04*

Kind of hard to be a philosophical masterpiece when the game forces you into the perspective of a stereotypical white girl who pretty much repeats the same three phrases, “OH MY GOD”, “You could get me a latte”, and “I’m doomed, it’s over for me” just written differently. About halfway through I couldn’t force myself to play because the protagonists lines were too uninteresting and though there are many choices the deer will nod them off by saying perhaps and then saying whatever he was going on about anyway. Not worth three bucks, really missed the shot at being deep and meaningful

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not much to it

*2021-01-04, version 1.1*

Not much of a story. If you like a lot of pseudo-philosophical interactions, think Star Wars Jedi type stuff, then this is the app for you.

Many adventure story apps use visual and written media to tell a story and allow the user to interact. This doesn’t. Single scene. Rudimentary graphics. Dialog balloons. No real advancement of a story. Same ocean background sound the whole time too. Really not much here. Too bad because the description makes it seem like it will be thought provoking and interesting. It is neither.

It also is a major battery drain for some reason. It pulls current like no other app I have seen. And it isn’t even a fast action game with physics.

Severely overpriced for what it is.

### 1/5 — Most boring game ever played

*2020-09-26*

This was really the most boring game I ever played... no, wait: endured. Pseudo-philosophical rubbish issued by a stag, no action or story at all. The graphics are nice and very static, and staring at basically the same picture for over an hour is demanding.
Stay away....

### 1/5 — Terrible and not worth it.

*2019-07-29, version 1.1*

It felt very boring and depressing. A waste of money.

### 1/5 — Overheated

*2019-01-20, version 1.1*

This app heated my iPhone 8 Plus like it was a skillet on Sunday morning! Too afraid to play with it any more. What a waste!

### 1/5 — So boring

*2019-01-17, version 1.1*

All I can say is this was a total waste of time and money. Worst game ever. Like pulling teeth. So slow my anxiety level was rising instead of falling. Deleted it off my device before I could even finish the “game”. Ugh

### 1/5 — Really bad.

*2018-03-18*

Waste of £3 and 2 hours. Shallow platitudes offered up by a deer to a woman in a car overhanging a cliff. It makes no sense. You do nothing, learn nothing, achieve nothing. There is no point to this except to remove you from your money. Artistically it’s nothing special. I can’t believe Apple even let them publish it as a game or anything other than a very slow story with no beginning, middle or end. Garbage really.

### 1/5 — Yawwnnn...

*2017-12-04, version 1.0*

Could be good if it didn’t go so freaking slow...yawn, I want something to be happening here along with the positivity

### 1/5 — Crashing >:(

*2017-12-04*

I enter it and ut almost loads then keeps crashing and i spent from my apple voucher £2.99. I want a full refund as the game isnt working and i am very disappointed with the company for not making a quality game for people to buy. So if u read this font buy the game

### 1/5 — Boring

*2017-12-01*

Not worth it

### 1/5 — Underwhelming & Ultimately Unsatisfying

*2017-11-30*

I bought this ( £2.99 ) as it was featured on the App Store recommendations.
Aside from relieving you of £2.99 It fails to achieve anything.
It is pretentious with hackneyed platitudes and meaningless mumbo jumbo. The graphics are dull and extremely limited, the ‘gameplay’ ( I used that word reservedly ) is tedious in the extreme fails at every level & takes a very short time to complete.
If you do have £2.99 burning a hole in your pocket then give it to a charity or to someone in need. Do not waste your money on this app.

### 5/5 — always worth a replay

*2026-01-27, version 1.1*

i play this game once a year minimum. it’s one of my touchstones in this life, along with bird alone. i wish the creator would make more games. thank you for these ones.

### 5/5 — Special

*2024-05-03*

A beautiful, empathetic, meditative game. If you struggle with depression be warned there are different endings depending on your actions, some of which will really help your depression and others which may trigger it to feel worse. It’s a sensitive, philosophical and emotional experience, so if you feel there’s any chance it could trigger you I recommend playing it with a friend or watching a playthrough and reading about it before going ahead.

### 5/5 — Underrated

*2023-10-28*

I’ve had this game installed on my phone for many years. It’s an old comfort of mine to play through the story every now and again. The art style is beautiful, and the game truly stands out from what you’d usually find on the App Store. It deserves more attention than what it got and I hope the developers have gone in to make more lovely games

### 5/5 — Beutiful

*2023-07-03*

It was very sad

### 5/5 — Beautiful and Healing

*2023-05-30, version 1.1*

Enjoyed the story line and lessons within.

### 5/5 — Quite a lovely game

*2023-01-14*

You can tell alot of love and hardwork went into this game and the message feels so genuine and freeing ~

### 5/5 — Thought provoking and peaceful

*2021-03-14*

I enjoyed this and felt completely immersed whilst playing. I say ‘playing’ for want of another word, as this is not so much a game but an experience. It’s a beautifully made, gentle and thoughtful story that is cleverly affected by the choices made throughout. I loved the style of graphics which I thought were perfect; not too much going on to detract from the experience, and beautifully artistic and dreamy. If you’re looking for something different to help unwind, shut out the noise of life and lose yourself for a short time then give it a try.

### 5/5 — Great game!

*2021-03-06*

Love this game! Been playing it on and off throughout the pandemic, okay mostly not playing it, though I have a game on my phone and another on my iPad for the subtle differences. It’s a great distraction and I feel a little bit better after 15 minutes or so.

### 5/5 — This game gave me an existential crisis

*2020-09-22, version 1.1*

Got free therapy from a deer who cured my depression. Thanks

### 5/5 — A game I’ll always remember

*2019-09-17, version 1.1*

What a wonderful experience, very deep and thoughtful, I only wish it would last longer, but that is a non issue. Buy this game and reward yourself... memorable for sure ...
