Please add a syncing feature so I can see what highlights I’ve made on my iPhone and iPad. The search could be improved as well. For example, searching “major repair” comes up with no results even though that phrase is in the FAR many times. I really do like that I can search for words though. This is so much more efficient than using an actual book. Love the app, love that its up to date and being able to highlight and bookmark. I only wish it can sync across my devices (iphone/ipad) I use my ipad for literally everything aviation and when im just sitting killing time, i wish what i had highlighted and bookmarked on my ipad would transfer to my iPhone. Please make it able to sync across devices ### 2/5 — Could use a lot of work *2025-01-21* Overall it’s not awful, just a digital copy of the FAR/AIM, but there are several things that are incredibly inconvenient. 1. Search feature: the search feature is far too inclusive. Any time i search for a specific reg number, at least 40 results pop up and i have to comb through every result to find the reg i typed out. At this point it is easier just to navigate it like normal. 2. Multitasking: I frequently go back and forth between the FAR/AIM and my notes/foreflight/etc. and every time i go back to the FAR/AIM app it gets rid of the reg i was looking at and i have to go back and select it again. Doing this doesn't take more than a few seconds but having to deal with it’s tediosity over and over again gets infuriating 3. Updates: as of January 21st basic med has still not been updated, and while i’m familiar with the new basic med, i cant be certain of what else is out of date. Still beats buying new paper copies and tabbing them out ### 2/5 — Brightness *2025-01-08, version 1.68* App seems to work ok but forget trying to refer to this at night. This app used to be fast and now it’s like the app is pulling from the internet instead of my hard drive. It is so slow it’s practically unusable. If this can’t be fixed, I’ll go back to paper. ### 1/5 — No sync, bugs, worst user experience *2025-09-07* Sync between devices doesn’t work at all, and the study by certificate feature is basically useless. If you switch to another app and come back, you have to start over and find your place again. The most frustrating part and the reason I’m writing this review is that highlights made in study by certificate don’t even show up on the main screen. I honestly don’t understand how something this basic could be overlooked in development. Total waste of money. ### 1/5 — Bookmark soup, highlight bugs *2025-05-13, version 1.70* Offers limited bookmarking and highlighting. Highlights can only be yellow, they move randomly over time, mark-ups not possible, premade categories of FARs by rating are incorrect, and bookmarks go into a flat list that cannot be organized or grouped. ### 1/5 — For Pilots studying *2025-05-11, version 1.70* Do not wast your money on these apps, I have purchased 3 and all their search functions are useless, the rudimentary search features will only provide exact matches at best and 9/10 times will not give you a revenant result. I have found it cheaper and better to download the AIM in PDF form from faa.gov and download the FAR in PDF form from govinfo.gov (you have to download all 5 volumes of Title 14 separately). Then upload them to a PDF viewer app such as goodnotes or Adobe (I like gooodnotes). The PDF viewer provides a much better search function and even ai assisted searches. I also keep my checklists and POH in goodnotes, you can use the apple pencil to check off items as you go. Hope this helps others pass their check rides. ### 1/5 — Used to be a great app *2025-05-09, version 1.70* I used to love this app and recommended it everyone that was debating between this and the book. Harder to read, and the formatting is awkward. ### 5/5 — Bookmarks have titles now! *2024-09-10, version 1.66* This was maybe a 3-star product before the recent update that added section titles to the bookmarks. Now, I am happy to give it 5 stars. Before, if you had 10 bookmarks, you wouldn’t know to look at 91.205 for required equipment unless you already knew what was in 91.205, which made bookmarks pretty much worthless. Now, section titles are listed next to the section numbers, so you can browse for the concept you are trying to find instead of whatever bookmarks did before—collect dust, I guess. This is on the iPhone. Will check my iPad later. Formats excellent on iPhone X/Xs/XsM and iPad Mini / Pro (just updated). The “Study by Certificate” feature is also incredibly beneficial, you can highlight, as well as bookmark too. This isn’t a study guide app, this is the Far/Aim. I recommend this to all of my fellow aviators.
