### 4/5 — Bookmarks

*2026-06-11, version 9.700*

Needs to be larger for better viewing

### 2/5 — Changed their model

*2026-05-15*

I have used this app for years. Like another review said, the price was reasonable, and then it’s been increasing unreasonably fast. When it was reasonably priced, I would renew it, then it went up, I renew every other year.

Now it’s gone up even more, but I can even use the old data that I paid for. It’s like buying a book, you put it on the shelf and if you don’t pay a fee, they take the book away from you. Give me my book back, lower the rates and you get some happier campers.

2 stars because the app is really good. They even incorporated one of my suggestions years ago about tabbing the sections and sub-sections. For now, I guess I use eCFR for free, but I do miss the app.

**Developer response:** Hi, thank you for the kind words about the app and for taking the time to leave a review.

I’m sorry to hear that pricing was the deciding factor. If you’re willing, please email me at neil@lawstack.com. We’d hate to see you go when you’ve otherwise enjoyed the app :/

### 4/5 — Baseline functionality

*2026-04-20, version 9.700*

This app provides the complete FAR/AIM if that is what you are looking for. What is missing is a good contextual search and something to show what has changed with each update.

### 2/5 — It would be ok but

*2026-04-15, version 9.700*

They keep sending me billing for yearly subscription and they got it already… twice.

### 4/5 — Highlighter

*2026-03-18, version 9.700*

Hey fools, give us the ability to delete a Highlight. Do it on the next update or bye-bye

### 2/5 — Updates

*2026-02-24, version 9.700*

I just downloaded this apps in hopes to use it for my upcoming check ride, and it says on the app that the version of the FAR is January 8th 2025, and today is February 24, 2026. I doesn’t update thus I can’t use it for my check ride. Very disappointed

### 2/5 — Poor Customer Service & Billing Practices

*2025-07-02*

I didn’t renew my subscription after continuous price increases. The company ended up charging my credit card TWICE within days after not renewing. Worse yet, the email link to contact customer service comes back as undeliverable. I ended up having to file a claim on my credit card to get the charges removed.

**Developer response:** Hi JCP, so sorry that this happened. Did you contact us?
Please contact me at neil@lawstack.com and will refund the charge immediately.

### 2/5 — Expensive Yearly subscription

*2025-03-26, version 9.671.20210425*

This app is ALRIGHT, I rate it 6/10, but what ridiculous is the yearly $25 subscription.

### 4/5 — Be nice to have markers like tabs

*2024-05-01*

Overall the search works well and its not terrible to locate information partially because I have always had a tabbed out hard copy version handy.
Distractor is unable to read content even without subscription glad I have my hard copy does not require batteries or need a subscription.

Sadly its always good to have an updated copy just in case.

Probably not renewing after this subscription.
Not my job to explain business models or UI/UX and such. Just make it affordable.

### 3/5 — APP crashes when highlighting text

*2024-01-22*

I’ve use this app for several years. Recently, when I highlight text, the app crashes. When I reopen the app the text is not highlighted however if I select the text and past the text that I highlighted is blocked out. Also, the bookmarking and organizing of selections is clumsy to say the least.

**Developer response:** Hi Vaflyer, thanks for brining this to my attention. I tried checking our highlighting feature but I don't experience this issue. Would you mind sending me an email to support@lawstack.com ? Would really appreciate if we can discuss this in details .

### 3/5 — Ok

*2023-11-13, version 9.680.20210615*

Good overall but annoying that it doesn’t recognize subscription paid limiting access between platforms (iPad phone etc)

### 3/5 — Good but aim doesnt have pictures

*2023-08-24, version 9.680.20210615*

Why wouldn't you put pictures for the aim?

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — The subscription is not worth it

*2025-08-27, version 9.680.20210615*

1. More expensive than buying a new book every year. 2. These are free documents off FAA website. Wrapping them up with an annual subscription is an interesting business model.

### 1/5 — For Pilots studying

*2025-05-11, version 9.671.20210425*

Do not wast your money on these apps, I have purchased 3 and all their search functions are useless, the rudimentary search features will only provide exact matches at best and 9/10 times will not give you a revenant result. I have found it cheaper and better to download the AIM in PDF form from faa.gov and download the FAR in PDF form from govinfo.gov (you have to download all 5 volumes of Title 14 separately). Then upload them to a PDF viewer app such as goodnotes or Adobe (I like gooodnotes). The PDF viewer provides a much better search function and even ai assisted searches. I also keep my checklists and POH in goodnotes, you can use the apple pencil to check off items as you go. Hope this helps others pass their check rides.

### 1/5 — Poorly supported

*2024-11-27*

It’s an ok app, but poorly supported. Their currency with changes in the CFRs seems to be good, but the programming of the app left something to be desired. The app’s management of bookmarks was inconsistent and refused to allow me to arrange them. The app had recently started to crash when accessing certain regulations. I tried to contact the developer regarding the issue, and only got one response and no changes were implemented. Not worth the subscription fee.

**Developer response:** Hi Ken, thanks for your review and sorry for the bad experiecnce -- particularly with the bookmarks. Certainly not the experience we want to provide.

Would you mind sending me an email to support@lawstack.com? If you’re open to it, I’d also be happy to discuss this over the phone ( just 5 minutes call) at a time that’s convenient for you. Your input is valuable and will help us improve the app for you and others.

### 1/5 — 9.99 24.99 in 7 days will allow to use this app.

*2024-08-12, version 9.671.20210425*

I paied 9.99 to get the app on July 30th. 11 days later they are asking me to subscribe for another $24.99.

### 1/5 — And uninstall

*2023-07-01, version 9.680.20210615*

Bye

### 1/5 — Monthly fee

*2023-06-05, version 9.680.20210615*

They charge a monthly fee for content that is available for free on the FAA website

### 1/5 — It’s really a paid app

*2023-04-23, version 9.680.20210615*

I looks like you can use it for free and pay for some premium features. In reality, you cannot read any of the FAR without a paid subscription. I can go to the website for that.

### 1/5 — Waste of $$$$

*2023-03-28, version 9.680.20210615*

Get the ASA version of the FAR/AIM, $10 one time and NO annual subscription.

### 1/5 — Outdated

*2023-02-14, version 9.680.20210615*

It’s outdated, glad I checked before Checkride

### 1/5 — Locked out after a few days

*2022-11-22, version 9.680.20210615*

I just bought this and then a few days later it locks out and pops up asking for a subscription. Can’t use it at all. Waste of money and time.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Quick Reference

*2025-04-17, version 9.671.20210425*

This is amazing. Quick reference. Just a few clicks and I have the FAA wording right at my fingertips.

### 5/5 — Quick Help

*2024-09-26*

When the app downloaded it only had the 2020 version on it. Being dense, and not digging into the app enough to see there was updates pending for the current 2024 version, I emailed support. They VERY QUICKLY got back to me and explained how to update and that they keep the app current. Excellent customer service, even for dumba***s like me.

### 5/5 — First-class Support

*2024-09-20*

2-year subscriber and can’t say enough about the customer service. The response time to questions is within minutes of hitting send and it is a personalized respond not a generic “we received your message and will get back to you as soon as possible”. Awesome app…highlights and tabs never have to be updated like the hard copy versions.

### 5/5 — Re: This app is invaluable

*2023-12-05, version 9.680.20210615*

The app is amazing and it’s a much needed tool to progress through all the aviation certifications and the customer is positive and timely too.

### 5/5 — Wonderful App

*2023-12-04*

As an aviation professional, I’ve been using this app to perform my daily due diligence while working in an airline OCC.

This app is updated frequently by the developers. I, highly recommend this app to aviation professionals.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2023-10-03, version 9.680.20210615*

I have been using this APP since the very begining.
Very very helpful to me personally and I recommend it to my student pilots also

### 5/5 — Great app

*2023-07-14*

This is a great app with great customer service, you have several ways to reach out to support, phone, email, live chat. The book will be updated every year. Easy to find regulations and information in the search bar with several results to select from. It also has a glossary with lots of terminology and acronyms with their meaning for a better understanding. It is very convenient, I have it on my phone and in my tablet.

### 5/5 — Designee

*2023-05-27, version 9.671.20210425*

I'm an FAA Designee and this app is one of my useful resources, especially becuase I. always hace acess to it off line. Bravo!!

### 5/5 — Very Useful

*2023-04-14, version 9.671.20210425*

I use this app daily in my job at a major airline. It's very useful and I especially like the speed it's updated with new information.

### 5/5 — A must for aviators particularly instructors.

*2023-03-06*

As a professional, airline pilot and PCA, I find this tool invaluable. It is so easy to search to find resources that you know are there, but not quite sure where. The extra tools such as copying and highlighting are really nice.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the kind review! We have already implemented some improvements and have submitted another version to Apple for review.
