I live in a country where cash payments are still a thing and the pride I felt seeing my country of origin so ahead with this is unequaled. All I have to say is, if you are in Rwanda, you have to use Faranga 🤩 ### 5/5 — Review *2025-01-02* Very interesting 🥳 ### 5/5 — Revolutionary!! *2024-12-24, version 1.0.4* When I came back to Rwanda, one thing struck me: nobody used cash. Whether it was a moto driver or a local vendor, everyone kept talking about "Momo." I felt both proud and lost because I couldn’t understand how it was possible to have money linked to your phone number and transfer it to others or merchants. Despite my attempts to memorize the various USSD codes, I quickly realized it was too complicated for me. I felt like a true auntie overwhelmed by technology, constantly asking those around me for help. My new life consisted of asking someone to dictate the codes I needed to dial, hoping the transaction would work on the first try to avoid repeating the process multiple times. Sometimes it worked, but other times the taxi driver had to come back knocking on my door because he hadn’t received payment for the ride😩. Then PressPay came along. This app genuinely changed my life, and I’m not exaggerating! I went from being a clueless visitor relying on others to a Kigali local who could actually help others. Whether it’s paying for my daily expenses, sending money to my family, or paying at restaurants, I do it all in just a few seconds, and no one understands how I do it. I don’t even need to copy-paste numbers because they’re already suggested from my contact list. Even better, restaurant codes are automatically provided thanks to geolocation. Now I have been using Faranga for the past few months, and I am so happy to explore features I didn’t even know I needed. I can now track my spending and be more mindful of how I use my money. Honestly, this is the future of mobile money, and I’m so glad I get to experience such a fantastic app! ### 5/5 — Momo-transactions *2024-12-23, version 1.0.4* I believe the app should only record completed transactions. My iPhone buddies know this 😂 ### 5/5 — Stops working properly when 2 SIMs are in the phone *2025-03-14* I downloaded that app when I used to only use MTN, and it was working well, but when I put a 2nd SIM card, an error message would show “null”. I’m thinking about deleting it **Developer response:** Thank you for letting us know about this issue! The “null” error can sometimes appear if your device’s default voice line changes (for example when adding a 2nd SIM). Please open your phone settings and select MTN as the default voice in Settings > Cellular > Default Voice Line. This usually resolves the error right away.
