Website doesnt allow you to pause all future orders. Instead. you'd have to remember/ set alerts to manually pause any orders that you dont want. Quite different from being able to turn on orders you do want. Very misleading and unless you definitely want this every week or so and are always in town then dont bother signing up for this ### 2/5 — Great company but app doesn’t work properly *2024-12-20* I’ve called the company 3 different times in two different weeks. App would not let me customize my box. Kept giving an error. I deleted app and reinstalled twice. Didn’t fix the problem. Was able to customize my box through website. But now website and app show completely different charges for my customized box. Called customer service and they show price as shown on website not app. ### 3/5 — Produce is wonderful, app is not *2022-12-07* I highly recommend Farm Fresh. We receive quality produce on a regularly consistent basis. Every once in a while we get something that is bad but it’s far between and not a big deal. My issue is that I cannot use the app to customize my orders. I continually receive an error message. I forgot how delicious fresh vegetables and eggs can taste! My son was a little skeptical at first but after our first meal using the Farm Fresh To You ingredients he immediately noticed the difference, he’s now a big fan! We all are! Everything is organic, packaged well, eco-friendly, delicious AND affordable. So now I’ll be getting a bunch of stuff I do not want :) ### 1/5 — Abysmal failure *2025-01-22, version 1.2.0* My time with them was short. I didn’t get half my shipments. Neighbor found one of shipments on the side of the road down the street. The deliveries I actually received were uninspiring. Difficult to get ahold of customer service. Once I get the list and customize, it says there is an error and won’t save my changes. That’s as far as I can get. ### 1/5 — Frustrating *2022-04-23, version 1.1.12* Pros: - the food is decent Cons: - YOU HAVE TO BUILD YOUR BOX FROM SCRATCH EVERY TIME, NO RECURRING ITEMS EXCEPT FOR MILK! Every week I have to spend a good 30 minutes removing each default item and then adding each individual item of my choice to the box because the app doesn’t allow you to just reorder the same items every week. The boxes they offer don’t have anything I want, so I have to manually delete every item (which is a hassle due to broken UI) and add every item that I want. - The app doesn’t keep you logged in, you have to manually log in every time. - The horrid $27.50 minimum requirement for *produce* makes me order far more food of that category than I can actually eat, leading to food waste. I can’t buy and eat $27.50 worth of fruit, but I don’t want anything else, so I end up throwing about a third of the fruit away. The app doesn’t care that I actually spent a whopping $84.78 on the box due to numerous *grocery* add-ons, noooo, they want you to order excessive amounts of food and waste it. - The UI is inconvenient at best and completely broken at worst. I bet it was never actually tested before release. The “hit boxes” for buttons are misaligned, the app doesn’t register when I tap on buttons half the time, and I end up tapping the wrong things *more frequently* than the ones I actually need to. I do not encounter this issue in any other app, to the point where at first I thought something’s wrong with my phone. But no, my phone works great, it’s just whoever designed and built this app did a very lazy job. - The box always contains some sort of recipe page and a page-long receipt, which is just 100% waste of paper. I ordered a FRUIT BOX people, I am not interested in your garlic soup recipes, take a hint. And I know what I ordered, no need to print it all out for me. If I order boxes every week, then I’m one year I end up throwing away 54 pages - a whole book-worth - of paper, doesn’t that bother anyone? hello? You know this all could be an email, right? - Oh and, what do you suggest I do with all those freezer bags? They aren’t recyclable. HelloFresh figured it out with some thick cellulose paper wrapped around cold items, maybe you can look into that? Anyways, this service is a mess. Good food, again, but the app is horrible and deserves one star at best. I’ll update the rating if they get their stuff together. I will be cancelling my subscription soon if they don’t. ### 2/5 — Extremely unimpressed *2026-06-11* I’m sorry but getting 12-16 oz of mushrooms or literally less than a dozen pieces of basic fruit should never cost over $40. The app is designed manipulatively insomuch as you can see the price to add on produce to your box but suddenly prices disappear under that. There are a whole bunch of design elements that make it more difficult to simply cancel. First it tries to move your delivery by 1-2 days, then asks you to donate it, before finally letting you skip it. And if you forget to skip within the 5 day window then you’re out of luck. The boxes do not contain things that can realistically be combined like a basic meal kit. It’s just odds and ends of different things. 1 avocado, 2 lemons, etc. it’s not nonsense but it’s nonsensical for someone like me who expects the service to save time, be transparent, and actually be useful. If I still have to shop for produce to make real meal pairings on top of the overpriced produce this is giving me, it’s incoherent as a service. The private market place is very pricey and only accessible after completing a box. Being unable to browse until the box is done is another manipulative dark pattern in the design of this app that is almost as unpalatable as the prices in that digital store. At the end of the day it’s obvious there is a ton of passed on cost into this and maybe it would be smarter to break out delivery and packaging fees as a flat rate based on the internal distribution supply chain rather than baking it into the produce. That is probably the biggest limitation in this, because it’s not necessarily that the food is overpriced, it’s that the food is used as the medium to add tons of marginal servicing costs that (in the age of inflation) will turn heads from users in the wrong way. That is my diagnosis of the bad reviews for an otherwise reasonably marketable service. I understand the farmers being supported, organic, etc but if it doesn’t save me time or money then it adds no value to me because I’m still going to the store each week anyway. I wanted to like this but I don’t. Sorry. Best wishes. ### 2/5 — Frustrating app *2026-05-21* It’s so difficult to figure out how much you’re spending for each item. My base box was $37 and every item was an individual, ie one avocado, one peach, one apple. It does not list the price of each item so I literally don’t know how much I’m spending on each item, so when I add more items (bc why would I buy just one avocado or one apple?) the box price shoots up. I’ve tried this service twice but the app is just not economical to use. Just received my first box tonight. It arrived exactly in the time frame they said it would, and it even gave me a phone notification upon arrival. My produce is all extremely fresh like it was just picked! The strawberries were a gorgeous color and very sweet. It’s about equal price than what you’d get non-organic at a grocery store but it is obviously far more fresh than the produce that sits on a store shelf for who knows how long. Free shipping and the full box customization are a plus too!!! I will definitely continue to use this service. The gentleman also said they have a policy if you are unsatisfied with an item they will refund or credit you happily. ### 5/5 — W *2025-12-25, version 1.5.2* W ### 5/5 — Easy to Customize *2025-11-12* I’m excited to get my first box tonight. They send reminders so that’s cool. Customer service team is amazing and helpful with any credits etc. We love that the produce is sourced as local as possible. There are some very good varieties in the box season to season. You can order some amazing meats too. They show full details about where things are grown and share tips and recipes.
