### 4/5 — Personal experience

*2026-08-14, version 2.91.1*

The story is great the characters are fun and the events are enjoyable, but god above is the gatcha system painful and expensive, it’s also slightly annoying to grind for material with no way of skipping the fights.

### 4/5 — FGO is a grand experience.

*2026-08-13, version 2.91.1*

Fate/Grand Order, or FGO is a very nice game for both old Type Moon fans, newer fans who want something to read on the go, and people who just want to play a fun game during their free time. Although it has many minor issues that stack up, and some more major problems such as its very punishing Gacha mechanics and a story that starts out very dull and generic, it slowly comes into its own as the story progresses, becoming something great.

### 4/5 — Almost a decade old

*2026-07-31, version 2.90.2*

One of the better gacha games. Still gambling, still full of fan service. The main story of the visual novel is pretty good though the pacing can be poor. The event stories are hit and miss.

### 3/5 — Decent for a gacha - flashing light hell though

*2026-07-25, version 2.90.2*

For a gacha it’s fun though gacha themselves are a very problematic game styles. As for its connection to the Fate universe, it works as well as it can within the existing framework, but if you’re looking to replicate a holy grail war, this is not that. Still, it’s got some clever portions and charismatic characters.

Two problems persist however (aside from the basic concept of a “freemium gacha,” but that won’t change) - the first and lesser is the time consuming degree of material and currency farming. They offer exactly what you need to farm it at any point of time, but, even once you have won the match, you always have to replay it. Which is pointless and time consuming, you are guaranteed to win as you have already completed it, but they still make you go through the motions which can be tedious and slow. There’s no excuse for this. Let us complete a challenge and then just exchange pp for currency/materials so as not to waste an entire day gathering 12 million currency (I am just totally blanking on the in-game currency - not to be confused with quartz which is the currency of actual value used to summon servants via the gacha element. The currency required to upgrade your servants). It’s just a pointless waste of time. End results are guaranteed but you are forced to go through the motions.

Concern number 2 is the insane level of flashing lights this game throws at you. I don’t even get seizures and it gives me terrible, terrible headaches and other forms of general discomfort. I cannot stress the amount of flashing screen you will experience. If you think you’ve seen some stuff, this will blow you out of the water. It’s also not necessary either, the noble phantasm animations are good enough without the aggressive white flashing screens. It’s almost like the creator had a vendetta against people with seizures and adds a level of physical pain on top of the emotional FOMO gachas inherently pressure you with. Seriously, at least give us the choice to turn the flashing lights off. You’d totally pick up people who have seizures, it’s money left on the table.

To sum up, if you have no problem with the addictive nature of gacha, then give it a try. It’s got some clever elements and can itch that fate scratch for a while. But it does have some issues.

Additionally, the current summer event set in Dubai is extremely dubious. It is a clear, cynical piece of propaganda and tourist advertisement disguised as a game (which is ironic since no other portion of the game has put me to sleep half as quickly). There is no real overarching plot throughout, a couple vague hints at one, but the majority of it focusing on a subplot that is never properly explored beyond “well, let’s just set that issue aside while we continue on the sketchy tour laid out before us.” It makes 0 case for itself beyond naked pandering to a city as much a testament to corruption as it is solipsism.

The summer event is typically one to look forward to, as much for the swimsuit clad servants (male and female, though female do take center stage), as it is for the fun, silly or on at least one occasion, well crafted homage (such as the summer camp one parodying slasher film tropes). There is none of that in this one (save for the sexy servants dangled in front of you to bilk “whales” out of their money - won’t lie, I enjoy them, but the obvious emphasis on “sex sells” is impossible to ignore). This event blindly praises a corrupt, dangerous city for its excesses and rationalizes many of its flaws while sweeping the worst under a rug. The game offers more criticism of its country of origin’s own history than it does this city.

Of the many flagrant pieces of propaganda, included are - a trip to the Dubai frame, awing at its gaudy, gold plated majesty without once acknowledging how the city blatantly stole the idea and plans from the winner of an architectural contest with clearly stated rules and restrictions imposed upon itself.

It also barely acknowledges in the briefest of throwaway lines (which never directly speaks to the issue) how outright dangerous it would be for women to go around the city dressed as they are, pointing out its law without delving into the origin, practice or repercussions of said laws, sweeping it under the rug by giving them special permission as outsiders (depicting just how hypocritical the city is in the face of tourism dollars).

It denotes the obscene wealth and cost of living in the city with one, brief, barely informed line of dialogue only to spend the vast majority of the time showing how much obvious fun living anywhere would be with limitless funds by giving you a card that does just that at the beginning of the story (something practically a necessity for actually living there in real life). It praises it as a testament to peace and advancement without discussing the oppressive dictatorship empowered by religious fanaticism which imposes this “peace” (let alone discussing how the sultan assassinates foreign journalists outside its borders who are critical of the country it belongs to). It fails to acknowledge how much of the “progress” is built upon the backs of the less fortunate, who never get so much of a taste of this grossly indulgent shrine to unrestrained consumerism and strict social hierarchy.

The event defends any dubious actions (without openly admitting any of them) by way of the country’s oppressive rule by a foreign power in ages gone by. It also only, in the most throwaway line, acknowledges how much of the country’s wealth is due to the discovery of oil and its subsequent control of it - in fact, it appears to praise that as a good thing without ever speaking to any of the surrounding criticisms. Every single piece of dialogue or narration is just a naked, hypocritical attempt to whitewash the city’s flaws, pitching it for tourist dollars for all it’s worth, cynically treating us players as naive rubes oblivious to the manipulations at play here.

### 3/5 — Maintenance issues with the latest update

*2026-07-05, version 2.90.2*

I downloaded the latest update for this game and when I tried to get my hands on the rewards I accidentally clicked download all non-card items by mistake and with the sheer amount of them it crashed my game trying to download them now it’s stuck in maintenance mode and won’t be coming out of it until someone looks at the problem can someone please look at it and fix it.

### 4/5 — i used to play

*2026-07-05, version 2.90.2*

con: but now its alot of requirements for you to play events. ( summer ect) it use to be the basic. as much as i love this game its not easy to get higher in the game anymore.

pro: however as much as i have cons. i do enjoy the game over all and i do recommend the game for new players if they love this franchise.

### 4/5 — RNG demons

*2026-06-18, version 2.90.0*

Don’t let them see that you are weak. Don’t let them see that you are wanting of more. They will take everything and give nothing. Other than that, pretty good. Babylon was hype.

### 2/5 — Not Portrait Mode

*2026-06-06, version 2.89.1*

Despite the provided images on the App Store, this game is NOT playable in portrait orientation.

Additionally, you’re locked into the tutorial steps of only being able to tap exactly where the game lights up for 30-45 minutes depending on how fast you can read.

The actual battle system seems mostly fine from the tutorial fights, but won’t be sticking with this to find out passed that.

### 3/5 — F2P players be aware

*2026-06-05, version 2.89.1*

There is a very low chance of getting a five star character u want I did 72 pulls and no five star characters it seems that the chances u will get for a five star is the essence cards I got 7 of em out of that 72 with the rest being mostly 3 stars and some 4 stars. Watch what u pull because u will either be lucky or waste your time.

### 4/5 — Gosh I love it. BUT

*2026-05-25, version 2.89.0*

For the last couple of months, it’s consistently crashing. I want to play it a whole lot more, but it’ll go 5-10 minutes before it’ll crash randomly

### 2/5 — Good game but time-consuming

*2026-05-24, version 2.89.0*

I’ve played this game for a while because of my brother. I’ve been a fan of the series for quite a while too, but this game has taken up more of my time than a couple of daily tasks have. If I could, I wouldn’t have started the game in the first place. there’s no way to auto battle so there’s that that could fix it. Everyone else uses third-party apps to farm you can’t do that on this platform. I would give it a four star review if it had an auto battle feature or better exchange rates for farming. The summoning pool for characters is horrendous. I can see why there’s a lot of people who drop it And never come back. I really wish better for this game. I’m just gonna say I’m tired, Cheif.2026, no pc port at all & I hardly play, not enough time anymore and I use my phone for other tasks, no auto farm at all. If you have time it’s ok but otherwise i don’t recommend getting into it. It’s like other gachas where they make it seem like it’s the only one that exists so it’s so time consuming. I still wish the best for it.

### 2/5 — Good game ! BAD gacha :(

*2026-05-12, version 2.89.0*

The game is very fun and has a LOT of content however the gacha is really bad I haven’t gotten a new character in 342 pulls so yea it’s that bad.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Optimize your game

*2026-08-09, version 2.90.2*

Game used to run fine but now it crashes all the time in the middle of battles making progression very frustrating. My device is only a few years old and i even tried only running the game but it still has issues and crashes in battles too often. I am a big fan of the story and been playing for 9+ years but the game is almost unplayable as it is. I shouldn’t have to run a mobile game on a laptop or desktop to enjoy it.

### 1/5 — Outdated and Overrated

*2026-07-07, version 2.90.2*

If you want solid card based gameplay? Look anywhere else. If you want consistent writing? Good luck. If you want a fair way to plan banners? Absolutely not. This isn't even a game. It's a C tier web novel past its prime and the only people who defend it are nostalgists with rose tinted glasses. Fate is an awesome series. Experience it anywhere but here and leave this godforsaken relic of the past in the graveyard where it should be. This lich would be on life support if Nasu wasn't puppeting its carcass past even the point of expiration. 9 years is crazy. Especially when it never should have lived beyond the first.

### 1/5 — Greatest mobile game ever

*2026-07-05, version 2.90.2*

They never plan anything, and prolong their maintenances every single time.

### 1/5 — Sad

*2026-07-05, version 2.90.2*

I almost lose my streak

### 1/5 — Login

*2026-06-24, version 2.90.0*

Multi billion franchise yet decide to keep login feature outdated!!! Easy 5 star if login wasn't so damn worrying, I can lose my entire progress upon a stroke of bad luck, like choking on a food once and never ate food since.

### 1/5 — Nasu should stop digging in his ahh

*2026-06-06, version 2.89.1*

And continue with tsukihime and mahoyo

### 1/5 — Outdated

*2026-06-03, version 2.89.1*

How is this even still around???

### 1/5 — I hate this game

*2026-05-30, version 2.89.0*

I suck at this game, so I hate it.

### 1/5 — Game constantly crashing?

*2026-05-11, version 2.89.0*

Huge fan of the game. The gameplay & the story. Fun events & great art. Idk if it’s my tablet specifically but recently the game will only run for 10 minutes at a time then crash. It’s really making me wanna drop it. Does anyone else have this issue? My iPad doesn’t have an issue running any other games. Other than that it’s my most played game on here.

### 1/5 — Mid!!!

*2026-05-01, version 2.89.0*

Power creep

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — For Fate/ stay night fan

*2026-08-05, version 2.90.2*

This is the right game for you,
For everybody else.
This game is heavily story oriented, there is no PVP, the game rewarded for you complete challenges, most of these challenges requires you to read and understand what they are requesting for you to do. The game very generous with its rewards if you invest time on it.

### 5/5 — Still can’t believe how long the game has been active

*2026-08-02, version 2.90.2*

I need to play it again

### 5/5 — Gilgamesh Is A Fraud

*2026-07-21, version 2.90.2*

Gilgamesh is my goat i would def smash if i was gay

### 5/5 — Live long and rock hard and play hard with players

*2026-06-12, version 2.89.1*

### 5/5 — Nice…

*2026-06-06, version 2.89.1*

Good game, decent combat, fun characters, so what if it is a grind fest, and it doesn’t matter if when you download the game it doesn’t go “Oh, here is Astolfo”(I Don’t like Astolfo), you just have to work to get the best characters, and appreciate them when you do.

### 5/5 — CHALDEA FOREVER

*2026-05-27*

### 5/5 — This game sustain around 10 Years!

*2026-05-17, version 2.89.0*

Keep update for the good Experience.

### 5/5 — F2P BTW

*2026-05-17, version 2.89.0*

game gave me draco first pull 🥹🥹🥹🥹

### 5/5 — Langue

*2026-05-16*

C’est mieux de proposer plusieurs langues surtout le français

### 5/5 — Love the game but

*2026-04-27, version 2.89.0*

Honestly it’s the only game I play. Love the characters, story and game play. Only downside for me is if your a new player without an established account the game can feel a bit tedious (unless you get super lucky and get one of the 3 main super supports). Would be nice if there was access to these supports for newer players so the begging game isn’t such a drag for them.
