## What is Feather Trove?

Your bird life list may already be hiding in your camera roll.

Feather Trove privately searches the photo library you already have, finds likely bird photos, and suggests species on your iPhone. No choosing photos one at a time. No uploading them to an identification server.

With Feather Trove, you can:
• Scan your photo library for likely bird photos
• Review on-device species suggestions and make the final call
• Build a personal life list from years of forgotten sightings
• Explore where your bird photos were taken on a private map
• Group sightings into bird walks
• Confirm, correct, or remove uncertain matches
• Create and share polished bird cards
• Export your life list as a CSV file

Bird detection and species suggestions run on device. Photo dates and locations can refine suggestions locally when available. Original images remain under Apple Photos permissions, and Feather Trove does not upload your photos.

Species suggestions may be incorrect and should be reviewed.

Subscription note: Most Feather Trove functionality requires an active subscription. Without a subscription, you can view only four summary counts: detected species, photos, mapped photos, and photos needing human review when the classifier cannot decide between two likely bird species.

This is a great app! I have over 170,000 photos on my iPhone and I have recently gotten back into birding again.  I was curious about what birds I may have photographed in the past, but I was intimidated by the thought of going through so many photos and separating out the ones with birds. This app has grabbed over 3,300 of those bird photos and identified the birds in them for me with a high degree of accuracy. 
It’s also been great to relive some of my worldwide travels and find the birds I saw during those trips so that I can now add them to my life list. Seeing all the birds on the map is an extra bonus. What a fun and useful app!
