### 3/5 — Great with a few flaws

*2026-08-21, version 5.3.0*

The main flaws are with the app. It looks like a game, and you have to collect seed every day to get a little widget off the screen. I had to create an entirely new account because all my videos were frozen “in progress”. Customer service never fixed it for me, though they did send me a new camera (not the seed hopper). The app keeps prompting me to subscribe even though I already do. I can’t access my videos, or my bird book without getting the pop-ups asking me to subscribe. I have to quit the app and reopen it sometimes more than once to get that pop-up to go away. Until the next time. Customer service said to delete my camera and re-add it. That’s an inconvenience. This app should work and you shouldn’t need to keep messing with it to get what you pay for.
The solar battery holds a good charge and the solar panel works well. Large hopper. Wide angle camera. Good quality photos and videos.

### 4/5 — Junk

*2026-07-08, version 5.2.0*

I cannot get this thing to work. It goes round in circles. I have no control over it. They make you pay for it. The free app doesn’t let you do a single thing. I cannot even delete the pictures that come in. They just keep building up. Every time I want to do something it asks me to choose a plan. I use continue without a plan and the same message comes back for me to choose a plan. It’s not excepting the free plan. So. The free plan is useless. This was given as a gift because of my health and they knew I love watching birds. If I had a receipt, I would return it because it’s useless to me. What a sad sad

### 2/5 — Extremely Slow

*2026-06-14, version 5.2.0*

The app is extremely glitchy and slow. Alerts will show up, but it takes 10 minutes or as much as 30 minutes for the photos to show up in the app. It takes 20 seconds for the live feed to load.

I would not recommend this feeder until they clean up the app and speed of loading photos and video stream.

It’s really bad execution.

### 2/5 — Hello, customer support?!

*2026-04-25, version 5.1.0*

The camera itself is great. But the app is not working for videos. I can get a picture but the videos will not render and I can’t delete them. Supposedly, my case was sent to tech support and I’ve never heard back. In speaking with others with the app, they have the same complaint. It seems to be a common problem. What I am wondering is, what are you guys doing to fix it?!

### 3/5 — James

*2026-04-02, version 5.1.0*

This app needs to fix some issues. I don’t like the fact that if you add a picture to your snap book, you can’t go back and request a video. Once you add the photo snap then the picture disappears into oblivion. Also, maybe every 10 videos I do request, I’ll maybe receive 50% of them. Just yesterday I requested 6 videos and didn’t receive any of them. It still says “Video Request In Progress”. It sucks too because I’m requesting the videos of the species like the House Finch that don’t visit my feeder as often as others like Blue Jay’s and etc. Wish I could give this app 5 stars but I just can’t.

### 4/5 — Love looking at birds on my feeder

*2026-02-27, version 5.0.0*

Would love it if you would update app so I could delete squirrel images quicker. Maybe swipe left to delete?

### 3/5 — Fix the video issues!

*2026-01-19, version 5.0.0*

I love my feeder and also love the idea of this app. My biggest issue is that I have requested videos daily that are just never available. Days later, it still shows, “video request in progress”. My other complaint is that the Birdle game doesn’t give you the correct word if all your guesses are incorrect. Please let us know the correct word!

### 5/5 — Great app and company

*2026-01-14, version 5.0.0*

Really positive experience with this one. Had trouble getting my bird feeder’s camera set up and connected so I called in. Customer service is US based and they helped walk me through the app to get my account all set up. Quality is great on the pictures and there’s even a social network where I can see people from around the county posting pics of their birds that I don’t get where I live. Pretty impressed by what I thought was a simple bird feeder app.

### 5/5 — Love my App

*2026-01-13, version 5.0.0*

The app is honestly one best I have seen . I love the clean feature packed interface. If a hummingbird stops by I get notified. I especially like the way Snaps and Videos are separated. Snaps gives you a quick look at activity, and the videos lets you see all the action of these beautiful birds in motion. The bird book is a nice touch. Everything stays organized instead of getting lost in my photo album.

### 5/5 — Love the app

*2026-01-13, version 5.0.0*

I’m really impressed with the FeatherSnap smart bird feeder. The picture quality is sharp, the motion alerts are quick, and the app makes everything simple to use. I started seeing clear photos and videos of different birds from the very first day. The feeder itself feels sturdy, and the battery life has been better than I expected.

What I like most is how reliable it is. The detection is accurate, the night vision works well, and the whole setup took only a few minutes. It has made bird-watching fun for the whole family. If you’re looking for a smart, easy-to-use feeder that captures great moments without any hassle, this one is worth it.

### 2/5 — Clean interface and super easy pairing!

*2026-01-03, version 5.0.0*

The FeatherSnap app is super polished. The pairing process via QR code was seamless, and I haven't experienced any crashes or lag while navigating the menus. I love the "Bird Book" feature and how easy it is to scroll through the live feed. Notifications are snappy and don’t feel intrusive. It’s great to have an app that actually feels like it was designed for iOS. Everything is intuitive and the video playback is very smooth. Highly recommend for any backyard bird fan!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Nothing without paid subscription

*2026-07-27, version 5.3.0*

So frustrated with this camera. I purchased it to give to a friend who is older and would like to see hummingbirds. SO GLAD I also purchased one for myself. I would never give a gift that had a cost associated with it. I am unable to even delete a snapshot without a subscription. I can’t view a video without downloading it which requires a subscription. Complete waste. Get yourself a bird buddy! No subscription required! These are junk! My nectar leaks from the bottom also. Poor design.

### 1/5 — A money grab

*2026-07-23, version 5.3.0*

Disappointed in how limited this app is without buying a premium plan. Most cheap wifi cameras on the market will support local SD storage and access of video and photos- this app limits photo storage for 72 hours and won’t let you view recorded videos unless you have a subscription. The hardware is mostly very well engineered (except I had to use tape to keep the camera from falling out of the feeder with the slightest bump) but requiring a subscription to use basic features makes this a one star. Received this as a gift- would not recommend buying for yourself. Buy a standard bird feeder and a cheap eufy or even blink camera to get free local storage of bird videos

### 1/5 — Greedy company

*2026-07-01, version 5.2.0*

I don’t know what my wife paid for this Father’s Day gift, but the app is terrible. Non-stop hounding to get you to sign up for a subscription for something that should come included with the feeder. Navigation through the app is choppy, it doesn’t do things it’s supposed to (like delete snaps), all the while, at every turn there’s a reminder to upgrade to a paid subscription. I will not recommend this feeder nor app to anyone!

### 1/5 — Can’t talk to human being

*2026-06-14, version 5.2.0*

Worked great loved it best thing in the world
And then I change phones you’re talking to an AI. It can’t relate with you unbelievably aggravated. You could build something without customer. Service perception is real.

### 1/5 — Trash

*2026-05-27, version 5.2.0*

App is glitchy, slow, and complicated. Snaps do not load, camera does not identify birds and add them to your bird book, can delete snaps unless you pay for the most expensive subscription. Terrible. Just get the competitor brand and save yourself from aggravation.

### 1/5 — FIRMWARE UPDATE FOR VIDEOS!

*2026-05-06, version 5.1.0*

So, you want me to contact my internet provider to make your product work fully?!? Ridiculous. Yes, everyone, the firmware update requires 2.4ghz to update the video function….even though this is not what most people use. They tell you this after they make you purchase a subscription to get videos and then contact them to find out why this doesn’t work. Currently half of my videos do not load. They are just sitting in “requesting.” Seriously scammy company.

### 1/5 — Very Glitchy

*2026-02-03, version 5.0.0*

This app has a number of issues, such as not saving photos to the bird book, clicking one thing and getting sent to another page, videos and photos not loading, asking for videos that never materialize, downloading a photo only for it to disappear on the app, etc. It’s an extremely poor app. I’m also paying $6.99/month and it doesn’t appear to change anything. Cancelling soon.

### 1/5 — Camera is great the app sucks.

*2026-01-29, version 5.0.0*

The app is not user friendly, crashes a lot, has ridiculously unnecessary (and honestly stupid) games and ugly little characters to unlock (“hatch”) and I wish it was just a good camera app without all the bull.
Also it’d be awesome if I could actually download EVERY D— VIDEO.

### 1/5 — Not impressed

*2026-01-01*

So far I find this frustrating and tedious. I had to pay 100 bucks Canadian for the year. The app takes about 5 minutes to upload a video which you have to request from your snapshots. It’s so annoying. I hope the app gets updated soon. I don’t care about badges and networking with other people on the app. Just let me see my birds.

### 1/5 — Junk app

*2025-10-12, version 4.0.0*

Numerous attempts to connect / reconnect to WiFi… the app indicates it connected. Shows still images & BRIEFLY will say it’s connected on the wifi router but the app NEVER shows it’s connected.
This means you can’t use live feed.
Without subscription, you only get 4 still images a day which means during setup all the images are taken and you’re done!
Doesn’t offer a trial for the premium plan (which is $9/mo or $50/yr!!!) that’s a lot of money for what you get.

### 5/5 — Love this feeder

*2026-05-12, version 5.1.0*

I have only had this feeder for one day and my inbox is full of beautiful pictures of birds and a squirrel and a lizard

### 5/5 — Corpus Christi botanical gardens customer

*2026-04-26, version 5.1.0*

I spoke with a wonderful man what’s the feather snap vendor at the Corpus Christi botanical Gardens. He talked to me about his bird camera and birds and living in Ohio.etc. I had a delightful conversation with him. As it turns out, he is the owner of the company. He gave me one of the hummingbird feeders. Just the nicest fellow.
AND THE FEEDER IS AMAZING. THE CAMERA IS SECOND TO NONE!!! I will be purchasing more.

### 5/5 — I have both the feeder and hummingbird feeder

*2026-04-18, version 5.1.0*

So enjoyable! A must have for a bird enthusiast! Just put up my hummingbird feeder. Can’t wait to start getting pictures!

### 5/5 — Awesome functionality and quality!!

*2026-04-11, version 5.1.0*

This set up is the best and the app is really well designed and easy to use. The picture quality is excellent. Can't say enough good things about it.

### 5/5 — First time

*2026-03-29, version 5.1.0*

Love it!!!!

### 5/5 — Feather snap cam .

*2026-03-10, version 5.0.0*

Absolutely love my feeder ! Pictures are wonderful and clear ! Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — This app turned me into a full-time hummingbird paparazzi

*2026-02-25, version 5.0.0*

I downloaded the app thinking it would just show basic camera footage, but it’s surprisingly amazing. The notifications feel like VIP alerts, the video quality is crystal clear, and the AI bird ID makes me feel like I suddenly became a bird expert overnight.

The app is easy to use, fast, and actually fun. I’ve saved and shared so many hummingbird videos it’s borderline embarrassing.

Never thought an app would make me this emotionally invested in tiny flying visitors, but here we are. Highly recommended.
