I've been using it for about 4 months now! I love purchasing farm direct, small businesses, local brands, and getting to try new stuff all the time! FEED has a huge variety of interesting groceries to try and a ton of interesting mystery boxes. All the produce I've received from them has been top notch! I've recommended FEED to all my friends too! I think their overall ethos and idea is fantastic. But biggest issue is that the app is seriously buggy. Crashes often, slow to upload photos, etc. There's SO many features I think the app has a hard time catching up. Every time I've placed an order so far I have never been able to load the tracking page. It's a mystery to me when or where a delivery is coming in from. I've placed about 8 orders and I need to message customer support every time to get my tracking number. I feel like when the main focus is shipping product, accessing tracking should be a minimum requirement. Also good to keep in mind a lot of the local shippers they use (I'm in Denver) don't have the best track record. Sometimes I'll get a damaged/crushed item or it will take an extra day to get here (which is worrisome for frozen or perishable items.) But, these are things I think can be improved and doesn't deter from my overall shopping experience. In general I like the app, ethos, and products that FEED offers. ### 4/5 — I love FEED.... but app bugs. *2024-01-19* Let me just say I've been using FEED for almost 4 months now and I LOVE it. I love the grocery options, variety, the ethos of the company, and the overall look and feel of the brand design. The quality of nearly everything I've gotten has been SO good. I love the mystery boxes, especially. All the produce we've purchased has been fresh, and everything arrives tightly packed. I'm glad the offer it in my region! However, you absolutely cannot track orders once they ship because the app is pretty buggy. Outside of occasionally crashing or not loading things, whenever I place an order it is impossible to find out what the tracking number is, where it is, who is the delivery service, etc. It seems like it should be one of the main things the app should have since it is for purchasing goods. But, I always end up contacting customer service and eventually things work themselves out. It's not enough of an inconvenience to stop me from enjoying the rest of what FEED offers. ### 5/5 — Great grocery delivery app *2023-10-08* Being new parents we miss going out. I've been enjoying this company that supports local and bioregional and global quality foods and kitchen products. It's fun to see what is new, to try some new things from the Bay Area to support smaller interdependent stores and farmers, and to diversify my pantry and culinary sense of wonder. Plus, the staff is super friendly and responsive whenever I have needed to check in about my delivery. I feel like the phone app has gotten better and better and is more user-friendly, and it's welcoming and inviting to use Feed on my phone. It’s like a specialty grocery store at your fingertips where you can get great produce, kitchen staples, and even wellness products from small producers as well as household names in cooking. My favorite part though is sharing purchases and getting to shop other people’s posts. You get paid to review products and the money comes back to you instantly so you can keep shopping. Delivery is free over a certain amount and boxes are picked up to be reused again. When I went to the latter’s site, they mentioned that their products were available via Feed. As fate would have it, I believe I have found the quintessential food delivery service for me. Offering the finest and freshest of everything, this is as good as it gets. Pricing is fair and reasonable; selections are diverse and appealing; packaging is smart and conscientious; and, the buying process is fun. Another bonus feature is their top-notch and highly responsive customer service. While the app is easy to use/standard, I am SO happy I found Feed when I was trying to see how I could get my Farmer Joy eggs delivered (I couldn’t make it to the farmers market a few weeks in a row). Feed has a large selection of locally, organically grown produce - incl. veggies, fruits, meats, eggs, and snacks! The prices are good and I was thrilled to see how clean/green the company’s footprint is in terms of delivery. First, there is minimal plastic and, second, they offer to pick up the boxes and ice packs to be recycled/reused. I’ll be sharing Feed with my friends and plan to shop from Feed regularly! ### 5/5 — The best food delivery service EVER *2023-09-08* If you live in LA and shop at all the boujee grocery stores, save yourself some time and energy and just download this app. It's interactive, fun, and has so many yummy items! I love that I can make content to post on the timeline and others can shop my items. It's like going to my favorite grocery store from the comfort of my couch. Great design and branding, bold, fun, eye catching. I believed in the mission and product so much from April to July 2022 that I told my partner I’d consider giving up my resolve to stay out of the corporate world for good, to join their team. I posted Instagram stories & reels emphasizing the joy I felt at seeing the van roll up to my door. The social media manager highlighted this on their account in addition to the content all of their creator partners contributed. All of that fun stuff is deleted from their profile now! I have a diverse and extensive marketing background & understand how a pivot can make or break a company. Well, this ain’t it sis 😒 People loved you for your low to no fees, quick delivery, fun snacks, and local bakeries. That’s all gone. I even noticed how many Instagram followers y’all lost after you announced the backwards update & started posting yawn-worthy content. Looks like even your social media manager must’ve quit when you decided to forget your roots and contribute to the gentrification of the Bay Area. I’m sure app uninstalls will be on the rise too if they aren’t already. Expensive farmers market on wheels is not what the people want or need. Go back to your roots otherwise you’re choosing to become obsolete. People who want farmers markets price & produce are going to go to the actual market, not your app. Don’t say I didn’t warn you (: ### 1/5 — Popcorn went downhill *2022-09-01, version 3.1.1* This app was fantastic when I first started using it. Although it had a limited selection, the delivery time was short and the fees were under $2. The app itself was super easy to use and now they’ve changed the entire layout with one update. Now it’s some weird co-op situation where you have to “join the group” for products (which are still super limited). Absolutely ruined in my opinion. Y’all should have a quick tutorial for the update because the new UI is confusing. ### 1/5 — Spam text messages *2022-01-06, version 1.1.8* I tried this app out a few weeks ago. I put in my personal information only to find out they don't deliver to my area (even though I'm in San Francisco). So that was that, I decided I will not use it for now and try it again in 6 months. First off, there is no way to delete account (other than e-mailing them I suppose?). So there goes my personal info. Second, and more importantly, they are SPAM TEXTING me coupons and discounts. This is a tactic I have never seen from a startup that is leaving such a bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended) I'm probably not going to give them another shot. I never opted in to texts and there's no info in the text on how to opt out. Replying STOP *seems* to have done the trick but who knows. Anyways, rough start, I went from potentially early adopter to lost customer (unless they are wildly successful). ### 1/5 — Product out of stock and refused refund *2021-12-09, version 1.1.4* Shortly after I placed my order, I got a text informing me that the product was out of stock and that I would be refunded for my purchase. However, I never received a refund and to this day, the app still says that the order is “on track” for delivery. I contacted customer support regarding my refund but they only responded offering a $20 coupon off my next order. When I replied asking for my order to simply be refunded, customer support never replied. Keep in mind that I NEVER received the product I ordered and the driver told me that I would be fully refunded. In the end, I had to go through my bank to cancel the charge. ### 2/5 — Barely worth it *2023-06-24* I have used a few different box delivery apps and this one is just hiding by aesthetic designs. The app is constantly crashing. The Apple Pay failed twice when trying to process. I should have seen the signs. There isn’t enough functionality in the app either. You cant sort the brands, the filter system is very lacking. Their logistics is all hosted by someone else so you’re playing a game of telephone with the service provider. I won’t be using this app anymore. We hope to serve you again soon! ❤️ ### 2/5 — Poor Experience *2022-03-21, version 2.0.1* *I wrote an email to Popcorn about my experience before writing a review to give them a chance to make it right, but I haven’t heard back yet. The other night I ordered a couple items to be delivered on the bases that the delivery time was advertised as 20 mins. After placing my order, the ETA given spiked up to 59 mins. This was a shock as it is more than double the time advertised and I wouldn’t have made the order had that been the case. Nearly an hour and a half later, I received my order, only for the driver to have to come back and replace an item that was ordered incorrectly due to an in app glitch. I wasn’t given as much as an apology for the trouble. And I was very excited to use this service. Sadly, I doubt that I will use it again unless I’m prepared to wait 1.5 hrs. ### 2/5 — Started off great, and then tanked *2022-01-27, version 1.1.10* Started off great and delivery within 10 min, and then it was 1-1.5 hours with missing items. I used coupon codes Popcorn gave publicly on their marketing emails and suddenly without warning, I could not place any new orders nor use any new promo codes. Popcorn won’t respond to my emails or texts when they were previously responsive. I referred dozens of people but I never received any of their advertised $20 for referrals because the app says I maxed out on promos. Again, Popcorn did not respond to my emails or texts. ### 3/5 — Just realized that they have a cap now on free delivery *2023-03-10, version 5.2.1* Changing my rating because free delivery irrespective of the quantity and amount was such a great feature of this product and this was the only one to offer it. I think $35 rather than $50 should be the cap if at all they need to introduce one. ### 4/5 — Love this app! *2024-03-03* Ever since I discovered this app, I’ve been hooked. The social aspect encourages me to cook often and share my food photos. The product curation is great and has helped me discover a lot of smaller brands, and the mystery boxes are always a fun way to pretend I’m on “Chopped” and think creatively with ingredients I may not typically use. Room for improvement with the orchard game - often crashes. Would also love the option to edit posts (in the case I forgot to tag an item). Deliveries have been smooth but don’t always get tracking info or notification of delivery until much later. ### 4/5 — Solid experience- impressive. But… *2024-02-05* Items were on point. Delivery was on time and friendly. If it weren’t for the shiny reflective insulated packaging that seems very unsustainable I would be ordering on the regular. That’s my hang up. Otherwise, this app saves me from going to certain fancy markets I really don’t love having to goto (rhymes with sharewon). It won’t take place of farmers market for me as that’s a joy. And wish the delivery was on more convenient to my cooking schedule days. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Amazing dare I say life changing? *2024-03-07* I stumbled upon this app from a few food influencers I follow and I have never been happier since getting it. Wasn’t expecting much but I impulse bought some things and each became a hit at my house. I live with quite a few people of varying ages and while I was the only person waiting for my first box, now the whole family’s waiting for the next box (I’ve ordered 4 times in just a little over a month). There are some bugs I wish could be fixed (the orchard turns into a creepypasta if I open it too fast), but it’s introduced us to quite a range of items from popcorn, sodas, mushroom coffee, to so much more. When something was wrong with my box, customer service responded in less than a minute and resolved the issue (shoutout to Kemal!). I cannot recommend this app enough if they service your area! I do wish they also collected packaging in my area but I really have nothing but glee when it comes to this app. I’m quite addicted to social media but the first week I got this app it shot up to number one in screen time because I was having such a fun time looking at all their options, not even accessing the social media part of this app 🤣. Really! Get this app!! ### 5/5 — Makes shopping healthy, local, and fresh easy *2024-02-02* I’ve placed a few orders now and every time is a wonderful experience. Anytime I’ve had an issue (such as wrong delivery date chosen) they’ve been quick to help correct it. The app can be a little glitchy sometimes, but resolves quickly and hasn’t messed up my orders. There have been a few mix ups which is expected in any situation but, the response from feed has been over the top as far as taking responsibility, being friendly, and accommodating. There are so many interesting items offered that I have to spend a lot of time deciding, and there’s always something new. Many things that we’ve tried have been phenomenal, I understand that not everyone will like everything, the produce is fresh and beautiful, I anticipate the sales (and high are also good), and shipping is fast. ### 5/5 — Really Fun Food delivery app *2024-01-10* The customer service for this app is 5 stars alone. Super responsive and helpful when my first order had an expired item and some produce that went bad (not their fault, the shipping agent delayed the box and my squash blossoms went soggy). I love the selection of items and they have stuff I can’t find anywhere else (or for as good a price). I highly recommend the mystery boxes if you are wanting to try new things; they are a great value! I’m a little bit boujee about my groceries and I’ve recently became even more about how I eat. I think the app is superior to others for finding smaller businesses who are agreeably sustainable. Unfortunately, I figured out that I have to separately purchase on their individual small business websites (when/if they have one) through the internet. This is because Feed doesn’t ship to my address. No complaints other than to please grow your audience! They are hard to find in the stores, and when I do find them, they are expensive. Food Service Direct sells them at a great price, and they arrive quickly and cool, as they should be.
