## What is FeedTube?

FeedTube is a handy YouTube channel feed (RSS) viewer.

It’s very simple to use:
Go to the Search tab, look for the channels you usually follow, and tap the Follow button. That’s it!

It includes cool features like:
• Change video quality.
• Change audio track (if available).
• Full screen.
• Picture-in-Picture (PiP).
• AirPlay.
• Play in the background.
• No ads while playing videos.
• HQ thumbnails.
• Recover all videos from channel [experimental].
• Customize share.
• Bookmarks.
• Import/Export.

…and more!

It stays in sync with any changes, such as updates to thumbnails, channel avatars, view counters, etc.

NO ACCOUNT REQUIRED!!!
(We live in an era where almost every app requires an account. Keeping track of usernames and passwords can be a hassle, and sometimes it’s just annoying to sign up just to use an app.)

All data is saved using the power of SwiftData and remains completely private on your device. No servers in the middle.
Everything stays on your device.

All your feeds are visible in the Home tab.

You can filter content by:
• All
• Only Videos
• Only Shorts
• Only Live

Plus, with a simple toggle switch in the top-right corner (“Unwatched”), you can hide what you’ve already watched, keeping only the content you still need to see.
If you tap on a video’s title, you can view its details and enjoy a more comfortable video player.

All the channels you follow are listed in the Follow tab, where you can also see all the videos retrieved from the feed, along with some basic channel info and if you touch channel avatar you can read a description of channel.

### 5/5 — Early Access but Excellent

*2026-01-02*

I’m very excited to use this app and see how it grows. Be warned that it’s a bit rough at the moment, but I already think it’s well worth the money.

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for your enthusiasm and support. I really appreciate the honest feedback: I’m working to smooth out the rough edges and improve the experience. If you have specific suggestions or issues, please send them my way (via by email there is in app in settings) so I can address them. Thanks again for you trust. Stay with me as the app grows!

### 4/5 — Great so far!

*2025-06-02*

This is a pretty good app so far! I really love the aesthetic you took with this, it's not something I've seen in any app I've downloaded ever, and it's still really functional. Overall, I thank you for making this app, because it's really good so far.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for your kind words and for downloading the app to support it!
A new version is currently being released, which includes an “About” section at the bottom of the settings. From there, you’ll be able to contact me directly via the “CONTACT” option, so I can assist you more easily.

### 4/5 — Great so far but a few improvements

*2025-05-28*

This is a pretty good app so far! I really love the aesthetic you took with this, it's not something I've seen in any app I've downloaded ever, and it's still really functional. I do have a few requests that could help with the general usability of the app. I'd make the search bar in the Search tab a bit bigger for better accessibility. Also when you click on a channel in the Search, in the list of videos at the bottom, the live videos should have a different color than the normal videos, which are both purple, if that can be done. Also a way to mark all videos as watched. Maybe when you add the channel, you can add a setting that automatically marks them as unwatched. Also in Settings, having the gear in the top right seems useless if you also have the Settings tab, so I'd remove it or put a contact button there or something like that. Speaking of contact, an easier way to suggest features, report problems, or ask about the app would be better than just reviews. Also when you search for a channel through their handle, it should just show the channel with that specific handle. Also when you click on a channel from the Search tab, Follower and Video should have an "s" at the end, since Views has an "s" at the end. Also when you go on the Follow tab, the channel ID should be fully shown instead of shortened and there shouldn't be the full youtube link to the channel with the handle if you already have the handle on the left side. Also when you click on the Follow icon, you can see a small circle behind the leaf, which overall doesn't have the same animation style as the other tabs, even the Home tab that doesn't have a circular border around the item in the icon itself. Also an iPad verson of the app would be really nice. I also encounter fairly frequent crashes if I scroll too fast or refresh on the Home tab. Also the notifications don't seem to work at all. Also being able to disable all of the animations may help with the lagginess I get sometimes in the app. Also when you follow the channel and it shows the Unfollow button, it should be different than that Follow buttons, which in the Search button, the Follow and Unfollow buttons all turn grey for some reason, but there are borders around the Unfollow and Follow buttons, but I'd make this border bigger to make it more apparent. But sometimes the buttons change color, so maybe just do one of those behaviors. Also there is some lag when I follow channels one by one. Also the Unfollow button should not have a capital "F" in it. Overall, I thank you for making this app, because it's really good so far.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for your kind words and for downloading the app to support it!

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.47 — 2026-06-09

A small, perhaps, improvement during the refresh/retrieval phase of new feeds when they haven’t been downloaded for a long time. This should prevent issues from occurring and the retrieval from getting “stuck.” I will need to work on it further.

This might be the last update, unless urgent issues arise, before moving on to working on iOS27.

### 1.46 — 2026-04-24

- A quick fix for a change in how video dates are displayed in channel details. With iOS 26.4, it seems the formatter no longer uses the XX-XX-XXXX format, so it has been adjusted to restore that format.

### 1.45 — 2026-04-20

- Fixed an issue where live videos (green in home) didn’t update correctly after ending when refreshing.
- Added a toggle in Settings to prevent the screen from going idle.

### 1.44 — 2026-03-31

What’s New:

- Automatic thumbnail updates: You can now enable automatic updating of video thumbnails in Settings when fetching new videos from your feeds (via the usual refresh button on the Home page).
- Thumbnail download check: A minor check has been added to prevent occasional incorrect downloads of thumbnails. This issue should no longer occur.
- Resolution change fix: Fixed the issue with video resolution changes that started yesterday (March 29) after YT made another changes.

### 1.43 — 2026-03-09

- Added the ability to remove a bookmark by simply clicking again on the red bookmark icon. This will remove it without needing to set it elsewhere.
- In the Recover Video, a new button has been added on the right that allows viewing downloaded videos in a slightly more “detailed” way (with cover image and some info).
- The Glass Background option is no longer experimental.
- Some minor under-the-hood improvements.
- Testing and integration have begun for displaying unplayable videos with the message “playback on other websites has been disabled by the video owner.” It currently seems to work, but it’s uncertain whether it will be released in the future.
