### 4/5 — I love this app

*2018-01-11, version 1.4.8*

It’s stylish and smart. I was excited about it being optimized for iPhone X, but disappointed when I saw that the notch covered parts of the photo frame. I know we’re supposed to “embrace the notch” and this is just personal preference, but I’d prefer data like images and photos to not be partially invisible with the notch. Otherwise, I believe this is a well executed app.

### 2/5 — Camera Roll Spam

*2017-07-23, version 1.4.7*

Needs a setting to TURN OFF automatic saving to Camera Roll and just make it a standalone app with pictures saved to itself.

### 2/5 — Disappointed

*2017-04-14, version 1.4.6*

This looks like a cool ap. I'm not a photographer, but I like how the few pictures I've taken turn out. However, I can't figure out how to save them to my phone, and the functions are not very self explanatory. I can usually figure out the basic fu croons of an app fairly easily. Not with this one.

### 2/5 — Misleading advertising

*2016-11-22, version 1.4.3*

Still no b&w live-view functionality, even though it's clearly advertised in the app Description, these app developers are starting to make me question why I bought this... I'll update my review when the app developers update the app to reflect the advertising.

Update: still no proper filter live feed. Lowered rating to 2 stars

### 3/5 — Disappointing

*2016-11-08*

As an extremely simple black and white camera this app is fine. The inability to export "rolls of film", i.e. photos, as anything other than a zip file is frankly stupid and infuriating. I understand the concept, but it has no semblance of verisimilitude.

### 4/5 — Nice simple design

*2016-11-06*

I kind of like it. Has some charm and nice haptics but I don't see myself using it often. Might be an interesting experiment to constrain yourself to using it.

### 4/5 — I like it

*2016-11-06*

It's has a nice filter and a great concept. UI could possibly do with a little work but that's my only gripe. I can see this being my main camera app for when I travel.

### 4/5 — Simple. Beautiful.

*2016-11-05, version 1.3.6*

I love this camera the most out of all "vintage style" cameras I have because you don't have to sit and mess around with editing features. You just shoot, and the quality is beautiful. Done. Having the different roll options make it feel like a real film camera as well. I love the updates with new little features while still maintaining the simple aspect of it. Great camera, I have all 3 on my home screen for easy access.

### 4/5 — I purchased all the Feelca apps!

*2016-11-05, version 1.3.6*

Thank you for developing this app! It's a breath of fresh air, going against the typical photo app. It is very easy to use and the interface is so simple that I instantly fell in love with it. I just hope there's a more noticeable difference between the filters. I purchased all of the Feelca app series. But I think it'll be better if there's only one app, and just toggling between B&W, Daylight and Tungsten instead of three separate apps. But overall, the Feelca apps are some of my best purchases in the App Store!

### 2/5 — Misleading pictures

*2016-11-05, version 1.3.6*

I couldn't spent the dollar on a filter pack for another app or something or an app like Blackie instead of this..

### 4/5 — Fun Little App!!!

*2016-11-04, version 1.3.5*

Chances are you'll either love or hate this app. I’m using Feelca B&W on an iPhone 7 Plus with good results thus far. The feel of the interface and the nod to an SLR experience really appeals to me (categorizing collections by “rolls” of film, haptics, sound effects, manual focus, etc.). The filters are good if you want a washed out “vintage” look and yield a softer feel than just converting a photo from the standard iPhone camera app into B&W. Some users might find this app to be a one trick pony, but it does its job really well. The UI is a little confusing at first (no labels or traditional icons), but much of this confusion can be resolved by simply reading the tutorial.

My only issue with this app is its inability to change exposure, or preview in B&W. The addition of ISO and shutter speed would also improve this app considerably. All this aside, Feelca B&W is a fun little app. Recommended.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2019-06-08, version 1.5.0*

I’m not one to write reviews, so the fact that I’m writing this at all speaks volumes. Bad interface, bad layout...but the worst thing of all is that it has left my Camera Roll with HUNDREDS of empty folders labeled FEELCA B that have to be deleted. If you are considering this app RUN away. The whole thing is nothing but a bad prank.

### 1/5 — What a mess

*2017-06-01, version 1.4.7*

Filters are great... If you can figure out how to export them! The user interface is a mess and its hard to find your way around this app. I bought all three from this developer in one go based on a recommendation from a website and frankly I wish I hadn't. Really bad user experience and its unclear how to get around the app. I've literally tapped and swiped my way around this thing to no avail. Messy and really needs to be better thought out. If you want to take photos quickly with nice filters and be on with your day, this is NOT the app to do it.

### 1/5 — Bad UI

*2016-11-21, version 1.4.3*

I agree with another reviewer. The UI is bad. Very uninformative. After viewing images you can't get back to camera picture-taking mode.

### 1/5 — Needs work

*2016-11-14, version 1.3.2*

I've written developer twice to ask why the "viewfinder" is in color (despite its depiction in BW in promo and tutorial). No response. I get the feeling this app was let out too early. Feels unrefined. The "Blackie" camera interface is much better.
Interesting, I was just looking at the reviews. The early ones are all five stars. While the later ones are clearly pointing out the problems. Friends of the developer early on?

### 1/5 — bricked phone.

*2016-11-12, version 1.4.2*

i'm pretty sure this app & the other two feelca photo apps messed my phone up twice. iphone 6s bricked after downloading & just had the same problem with my new iphone 7 after an update.

### 1/5 — Nope

*2016-11-05*

Terrible

### 1/5 — No B&W live view

*2016-11-04, version 1.3.5*

Where is the B&W live view?

### 1/5 — I should have read the reviews

*2016-11-04, version 1.3.5*

Screenshots of app clearly show B&W live-view, but app only has color live-view.

### 1/5 — Can't edit!

*2016-11-03, version 1.3.5*

Can't edit the photo!? I can take the photo on my iPhone and convert it into B&W. Nothing special a good waste of 99 cent.

### 1/5 — 😵 WHAT?

*2016-11-03, version 1.3.5*

Is there a more ambiguous app?
This app is absolutely the worst I have EVER tried to use!
I cannot figure it out. I cannot use it. A waste of time and money!
Do not even think about it!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — One of the best B&W apps

*2021-10-25, version 1.6.0*

I buy a lot of camera apps and this is one of my favorites. Genuinely surprised at the low rating.

### 5/5 — Undefeated... Yet underrated

*2020-07-21*

This app is an amazing camera app. Captures with a certain feel to it. Extremely underrated and I don't know why it's not getting love it deserves.
One suggestion I can make to the developer:
The UX for the current app to people who have downloaded is amazing. Keep this version, and make a more user friendly version like a lite or duo to this current app.
Amazing work. Keep it coming 🙌🏼

### 5/5 — Good

*2018-03-02*

### 5/5 — Makes photos incredible

*2017-09-30*

My go to app for black and white photography

### 5/5 — Best B&W | Worst UX

*2017-04-20, version 1.4.6*

Best black and white tonal range out there— period.

Exporting all your photos is akin to pulling teeth.

### 5/5 — Great little camera

*2017-04-01*

Lovely little camera app with a real retro film feel to it. Love the effect and look my photos are getting with it.

### 5/5 — Great apps! (B,C,D and T)

*2017-01-08*

I love simplicity off your apps and I find them really useful!

Only missing aspect of your apps is vertical mode, I wish there to be some kind of option to switch from horizontal mode into vertical and vice versa.

But my final words about your app is that I love it !

Thank you !

### 5/5 — I love this app.

*2016-11-09, version 1.3.7*

Even though the UI is very not explained in the best way and could use tweaking to be honest, I like the output and quality. It's not some crappy black and white filter. It feels different yet nuanced. Not sure what the vision about the exporting situation is but I'm not that far yet. Also the detail like the haptic feedback and sounds is great. Thanks for not riddling this with stupid in app purchases. Please don't make the mistake of adding good features for money. Just keep it at 99 and add good features, this app will do great. Also check out my band, THE AUDIOTS.

### 5/5 — Classic and raw.

*2016-11-09*

This app gives you smooth and classic experience of filmic camera photos. I recommend you get this one. Actually low-priced for its quality.

### 5/5 — Beautiful and professional

*2016-11-03, version 1.3.2*

The most capable camera I've used so far. Im a photography student and this camera is the closet thing to film on a smartphone is amazing.

The only dislike would be the layout. Improving the access to the settings and a more visually appealing UI would make this app perfect.
