### 2/5 — Way too slow

*2026-04-16, version 1.57.4*

This app would really be much more helpful if it actually worked right. It’s really annoying when you’re working through some emotional issues and. It just keeps thinking and thinking.

### 4/5 — One Suggestion

*2026-02-26, version 1.57.4*

I really have seen an incredible benefit from using this app. My only suggestion is this: can you make it possible for the conversations to be exported. I really want to share them with my therapist. Because I do still get stuck and need elaboration on some things and I’d love for her to be able to help me and get my belief to zero if I can’t do it in the app by myself.

### 5/5 — Excellent App for Self Help!

*2026-01-11, version 1.57.4*

I was using other online AI’s for self help for my anxiety and depression, until I stumbled on this app. I own some of Dr. Burns’ books, but this app literally has an interactive version of his lessons with quizzes for free! I’m impressed with how much I’ve been able to challenge my negative thoughts and how much it has lowered my anxious worrying (it was getting bad). Pair that with the AI chat bot that lets you input your negative thoughts and feelings and then challenge them 24/7, and it’s a winner IMO. I’m kind of amazed they haven’t put this behind a pay wall yet. If you’re struggling with anxiety and depression, give this a shot and put in the work. You’re worth it!

### 5/5 — Hard to believe

*2026-01-03, version 1.57.4*

It is hard to believe all my feelings are created by my thoughts and is it even harder to believes by shining a light on my thoughts I can get in control of my feelings. I am a physician and I sat at David Burns classes for 20 years and learned that it’s not the outside events but my perception of those events, in other words my thoughts about those events, create my emotions. It’s even harder to believe a robot can help me to shine a powerful light on my own thoughts and help to get my emotions under my control.
Give it a try, what do you have to lose?

### 5/5 — This app replaced therapy

*2026-01-02, version 1.57.4*

This app is more accurate and skill building than any therapy I’ve ever had.

### 5/5 — Fantastic for helping change your thoughts

*2025-12-18, version 1.57.4*

This is a great tool to support therapy that can be with you 24/7.

Think about those pesky negative thoughts we all have… this helps you change them and reduce their impact on your life.

### 5/5 — Skeptical at first

*2025-12-17, version 1.57.4*

I have used the Feeling Great Handbook for many years on and off and found that I didn’t follow each thought through as I needed to. I was super skeptical that a chat bot could officer support, but it works very well; leading each thought through the processes used to do but perhaps got stuck on.
It’s an excellent tool!

### 5/5 — Extremely valuable

*2025-12-10, version 1.57.4*

I only use the AI feature. And it’s very helpful because it helps you apply the techniques created by Dr. Burns in real time. Listening to the Feeling Good podcast series is a good supplementary aspect to this.

### 5/5 — Best app ever

*2025-12-05, version 1.57.4*

David burns is a genius, app completely changes your views and destroys negative thoughts, this is the only review I have ever written and that says alot.

### 4/5 — Amazing use of ai

*2025-12-02, version 1.57.4*

I have to say that initially I was super skeptical. And the portion I was most skeptical about has turned out to be the most helpful which has been the AI. It’s uncanny bang on it is in helping you with feelings and thoughts and how accurate. I look forward to continue to using the app.

### 5/5 — Feeling great is works

*2025-10-17, version 1.57.4*

I don’t usually write reviews, but Feeling Great absolutely deserves a solid 5.0, not a 4.5. Seeing anything less honestly made me sad… because this app is the product of a mind powerful enough to bring peace back to the human psyche. A mind that uses its brilliance for good, with humility, and shares decades of therapeutic wisdom with the world.

If you want to get the most out of this app, it really helps to have some background in CBT. If you don’t, seeing your true reflection in the emotional mirror might feel uncomfortable… even frustrating. But that discomfort is exactly where growth begins. Don’t judge the app… see it as your teacher.

I’ve read all of Dr. Burns’s books and worked with a CBT-based therapist for seven years. I’ve finally reached that emotional maturity and inner peace I never thought possible. My therapy is coming to an end, yet this app keeps me grounded… it helps me process emotions daily, with clarity and self-compassion.

Would I love to have a single session with Dr. Burns himself? Absolutely. But I deeply respect that he’s dedicating his life to sharing his legacy with us instead. And here’s the magical part: in the app’s training modules, you actually get to hear his voice. It’s an incredible experience… almost like having a real session with him.

This isn’t just an app… it’s a life-changing companion for anyone who’s ready to grow.

### 3/5 — An ok start

*2025-10-08, version 1.57.4*

Why not just make this app the companion to the great book Feeling Good? I need the worksheets and the negative thoughts counter, etc. I don’t need AI very slowly asking me what I think, and then prompting me what I should think, I need to train myself to quickly know what to think, instinctually. AI just isn’t anywhere close to being what we need it to be for this purpose. This app just feels like a fun novelty, nothing serious or helpful.

### 5/5 — Extremely valuable

*2025-09-24, version 1.57.4*

I just love how it summarizes what you might be thinking and feeling, it articulates it and reads it back out to you so you can actually see what you are thinking. The techniques on rating beliefs, and being able to select and critically analyze one negative thought at a time—it truly has saved me. It does not replace an actual therapist but it’s one of the best supplementary tools out there.

### 3/5 — Delete

*2025-09-13, version 1.57.4*

I couldn’t delete my conversation when I hit the delete button. Why?

### 5/5 — Actually works

*2025-09-04, version 1.57.4*

Really turns around your terrible moods and thoughts. Kind of still in semi-beta, but still amazing tool

### 5/5 — Can truly feel great

*2025-09-02, version 1.57.3*

The AI chat bot is awesome. Feel like it really understands the human condition and more importantly me. It helped me crush 23 negative thoughts and more in 10 days. It doesn’t just superficially help you feel great. It takes the time to listen, understand and posit your likely distortions in your most challenging problem and crush them. Absolutely superb

### 5/5 — The best app of its kind

*2025-08-27, version 1.57.3*

I already realize my title “The best app of its kind” is inaccurate, because there is NOTHING else like this! It’s like having your very own 1:1 session with David Burns!!!

### 5/5 — Helps with challenging relationships!

*2025-08-16*

Sometimes I feel annoyed with people I care about, but I don’t want to complain or say anything that could damage our relationship. This App helps me identify my negative thoughts, receive empathy, identify my distortions, and do a relationship journal to better understand all the emotions involved. I feel more empathy for myself and I feel less annoyed with the other person after using this App. “Complaining” to an App is much better than complaining or gossiping to friends or family! I can work through upsetting emotions without spreading negativity to others! I love this App and I have been recommending it to everyone!

**Developer response:** You are absolutely right to protect your relationships and it makes sense that you prefer a private place to work through upsetting feelings. Hearing that the app helped you feel less annoyed and more compassionate toward yourself is truly uplifting. we are grateful that you trusted our app enough to recommend it to others and we feel motivated to keep improving the experience for our community.

Could you tell us which part of the relationship journal helped the most or any small change that would make it even more useful? Your thoughtful feedback shows real care and insight and it helps us make the app better for everyone. If you ever want to share more or need support, please reach out to us at support@feelinggreat.com

Thank you for being part of the Feeling Great community and for spreading the word. -Micheal

### 5/5 — Game Changer

*2025-07-31, version 1.57.3*

This app takes everything you need from a session with a counselor and lets you do it on your time and in your PJs!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — The “A.i” is an illusion

*2025-11-21, version 1.57.4*

It doesn’t actually listen to what you say, there is no back and forth. It sticks to a script and just ignores anything that isn’t a part of that script. Worse its answers are all the same, literally. Only those who think “A.i” is better than it is will find any use here. Just buy the book.

### 1/5 — Useless and frustrating

*2025-06-06, version 1.55.0*

Waste of time. Was provided this by my health insurance company. I wonder if anyone has checked to see if works.

### 1/5 — Pretty worthless

*2024-11-07, version 1.3.8*

Wow. I was expecting more. It’s just repeating back what I input.

### 1/5 — Bloated overpriced and mediocre app

*2024-11-02, version 1.3.7*

You can tell who ever was calling the shots on this app was more focused on their own ideas vs what users actually wanted which is evidenced through the critical reviews of others here. Nobody wants to pay 100 dollars for what could be achieved from reading the book this stuff is based on or using chatgpt with some basic prompting.

### 1/5 — Bad app, bad content

*2024-09-16, version 1.3.2*

A few criticisms:

1) the app asks the user a ton of leading questions in a multiple choice fashion. I don’t feel like I can answer these questions authentically.
2) the app has conflicting messages on negative thoughts. It advises us to find the positive in our negative thoughts and also to rewrite them and stop thinking them. This is very confusing for me.
3) The app is generally clunky and poorly made.

It feels as if Dr. Burns has not put in the same effort to the user experience of this app as he put into his many books.

### 1/5 — Did not go well

*2024-09-10*

Suggest some more time in beta. Good potential but not there yet. It accurately summarized what I wrote, but the responses it gave for the cbt work were not related in any way to what I wrote. It went from deeply insightful human-seeming interlocutor, to very basic and inaccurate chat bot. It was jarring and given the context, weird and upsetting. Please test this more, it was a surprisingly unpleasant experience.

Response to developer:
Thanks for your response. I would be happy to try this again and share screenshots (which I did not take while I thought I was engaging in a functional cbt app) but this app is no longer fully free. I think you need to provide the app for 100% free until the bot can accurately work with users past the point of reflecting what they would like to work on. Right now, it failed for me and apparently a few others to do the difficult part: help challenge potentially inaccurate thoughts. Some will (and have) found the experience of sharing difficult thoughts and feelings, only to be met with the chat bot equivalent of “and how did that make you feel?” to be disturbing and possibly harmful. I know this is not what you intend. Therefore, please do not to call this version a public beta in response to feedback. Betas are labeled as such up front, and they warn users glitches are still being worked out. And there should be no cost past a certain usage point to testers. I believe this would be the ethical move on your part. With this change, I would consider spending my time to help you finish training your AI.
Thank you.

**Developer response:** Thank you for sharing your honest feedback and we appreciate every bit of detail we can get from our community during our public beta. We would love to see details and screenshots to understand where in the flow that the chat bot responded so we can improve our CBT work on the bot. If you can provide additional details to our support@feelinggreat.com, this would help us greatly to improve these experiences! -Micheal
Edit Update: We'd love your constant feedback and I'd love to invite you to our program to help beta test features and new tools with us! For doing this, we can offer you access to the app by messaging our support email. As for anyone else, we do offer hardship and accessibility program if you reach out to our support@feelinggreat.com to fill out an application as we do not want to limit the access to our app for those in need as well! We continue to find the right balance of offering this amazing support while keeping it running through our pricing!

### 1/5 — Happy to hear there was an app, but the price!

*2024-08-13*

I have bought several of Dr Burns books and was excited to learn there was an app. I got to the 4th section of the first course only to be stopped with a pay $99 (normal price is $150) There was option to pay monthly. This makes it out of reach for most people. As someone on a fixed income this was so disheartening. I think the pricing is also outrageous. Being that I only got 4 short (abbreviated) sections of what’s in the book I can only give this one 1 star. I don’t know if you get the app versions of the forms you receive in the book. I know you can get them on the internet but an app version would have been awesome. At this price point I will never find out if they somehow accomplished this. Dr Burns makes a lot of money with conferences, speaking engagements, books, etc. to bring the cost of this way down. Maybe you don’t want to help EVERYONE? Maybe only a certain section of society, the upper echelon (the only people I know who could afford $150 regular price point. Disappointment doesn’t even begin to explain how I feel about this.

**Developer response:** Hi there Bebeblues, we appreciate the honesty and glad you have experience with Dr. Burns books. While we are working on our pricing and offering a public beta pricing discount, we are working greatly increasing our options for subscribing or getting access to the app. It may take some time as this is still early in testing and ensuring the app experience and pricing meets our community needs. If our members have financial needs, please reach out to Support@feelinggreat.com and we may be able to assist with your scenario -Micheal

### 1/5 — Disappointing waste of time

*2024-07-05*

Is the creator of this app a professional gaslighter? It seems like it. The story about the old man on the railroad tracks was sufficient evidence, and that was only on the first part of the lesson. It equated a lack of situational awareness due to dementia with some sort of peace of mind in a truly dangerous situation. I can’t even wrap my head around how someone could come to believe such a thing, let alone promote it in the context of supposed mental health support. Are you seriously stating the people that are in dangerous situations just need to be happy about it and everything will then be OK? Yikes.

**Developer response:** Hi! Thanks for the feedback about our lessons and the content! The content is in constant discussions and working with our community to help identify which techniques and stories are the most impactful. We work closely with our members and love to hear your thoughts and ideas to help improve this story or any other lessons. I invite you to share with us as it would help us greatly if you can share additional details at Support@feelinggreat.com. -Micheal

### 1/5 — i knew it was too good to be true

*2024-06-27*

i genuinely was thinking “this is the app for me these courses are so helpful” and now its asking me to pay 99$. SMH ofc🙄🤦‍♂️

**Developer response:** Hi! Thanks for the feedback about our subscription model! The app team is in constant discussions on our subscription models and working on finding the right balance to sustain the app and keeping it available for our community. We work closely with our members and love to hear your thoughts and ideas. I invite you to share with us as it would help us greatly if you can share additional details at Support@feelinggreat.com. -Micheal

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Seems far fetched but worth trying

*2026-06-07, version 1.57.5*

I continue to go through this cycle: Feel bad-> try the Feeling Great App -> find that it works quite well-> feel a lot better for long enough to forget the app exists -> notice that I feel bad -> Feel bad (start over)

I don’t know if you feel bad sometimes, or if the other things you do when you feel bad cause their own problems, or if it would help you, but it helps me, and I hope it works for you too

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-05-31, version 1.57.4*

Really incredible app cannot recommend enough

Can you please release a dark mode so I can do this late at night when I am feeling anxious and can’t sleep without disrupting my sleep as much? Thank you!

### 5/5 — Incredibly accurate

*2026-05-19, version 1.57.4*

I have completed several sessions with the app. I am impressed with how accurately it can summarize what I tell it I am currently dealing with—thoughts, situations and feelings. Of course the more honest and concise you can be with what is bothering you, the better the app will address your issues. I am a big believer in CBT therapy and in Dr. Burns’ methodology. The app is clever and has helped me, it will be helpful for you if you can be honest with sharing.

### 5/5 — Great app, please add Simplified Chinese

*2026-03-28, version 1.57.4*

I really like this app. Hope you can consider adding Simplified Chinese in future updates.

### 5/5 — Effective if you work with it

*2026-03-13, version 1.57.4*

It’s available anytime, anywhere, for free, and has been doing a good job for me so far. Sort of like free-therapist-on-your-phone. Educational too. I’m surprised there are so few reviews and ratings. I’ve used it at 1 am at a hotel out of town, when there’s no way to get a therapist appointment, and got the help I needed to sleep (it took about 90 minutes). You have to think about what it says and work with it, to make progress. And I’ve had to be patient when some methods don’t work, because other methods it suggested later worked well. It might not help everyone, but it’s helpful for me. Glad I tried it. Thanks to Dr Burns and his team.

### 5/5 — Powerful Always Available Support

*2026-03-01, version 1.57.4*

A very practical way to apply concepts that can feel abstract and real time make real progress and feel better and address the negative thoughts and internal critic that’s getting in the way

### 5/5 — Best App

*2026-02-25, version 1.57.4*

The best app for depression, anxiety, etc. I wish more therapists would learn TEAM-CBT.

### 5/5 — Love this app.

*2026-02-19, version 1.57.4*

Wow I love this app I finally have some weapons in the armoury for when that negative voice takes over. Keep up the great work.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2026-02-14, version 1.57.4*

This app is incredible, highly effective. I’ve read Dr Burns’ books, and they’ve transformed my life for the better. This carries that forward. Thank you Dr Burns!

### 5/5 — Absolutely Amazing

*2026-02-01, version 1.57.4*

I’ve used this app for long and short sessions as well as lessons. I’ve started skeptic, then crying, then feeling a sense of relief and insight. I didn’t want to believe that AI could work in this setting but it really has for me. Such a wonderful way to put these tactics into practice!
