I would also like it if the app had a way to create a profile of all my settings so if I install on another iPad (ai have bought two copies from two different stores to support the developer) I don’t have to hunt down all the little preferences I had set up on the previous iPad. ### 2/5 — Disappointed *2025-09-25, version 3.2* I got this app thinking I could make voice sound all funky and make my ukulele sound better but then I realized that I have to get a pass to do all this cool stuff but all I can do is change my volume! My dad looked up apps good for what I want to do and the reviews say good things but it’s so disagreeable that I left this review. I will keep this app for a little bit longer and if I still can’t figure out my problem I’m leaving a 1 star review. It is modern and clean. As a recording app, it excels. Where it falls short is post-recording features. The built-in features work well, but as someone who records audiobooks and needs standardized RMS, limits, de-clicking, de-essing, and such, I still have to export to a laptop to finish my recordings in Audacity. These are pretty standard audio editing features, and it would be nice to see them baked in to Ferrite. These app also doesn’t support iCloud syncing of files, so working across multiple iPads requires exporting and importing, which is tedious. I still recommend the app wholeheartedly. I tried going to your website and ask quietly… but you have one of those support pages where you arrogantly believe you thought of every question. You did not. When recording voice, how has it not occurred to you that users may need to pause the recording? This is a simple fix. Very tinny/tunnel sounding. I used the same mic, conditions, script, etc to record in other apps and it sounds fine. It’s only this app that records poorly. ### 1/5 — HORRIBLE INTERFACE *2026-05-06, version 3.2.5* I need to do some simple VO editing and tried this app. There are next to no tools and the ones there do not seem to work. The editing controls are very limited and clumsy to find and use. Currently can’t recommend this app. Disappointed ### 1/5 — Sometimes *does not record* *2025-02-16, version 3.1.12* When this app records, it’s awesome! However, when using an external mic/interface, it’s 50/50 whether it actually records any audio or not. And because there’s no real-time visible waveform on the screen, I have no way of knowing whether it actually picked up any signal until I stop recording and see that there’s no sound during playback. This is nerve-wracking when the recording is vital, and the definition of unreliable and makes the app essentially unusable in my experience. I don’t have this issue using the same external equipment with other iPhone DAWs, and I tend to check and double check to minimize user error. This issue occurs nevertheless—again, unpredictably—on both iPhone and iPad. ### 1/5 — Nicht kaufen! *2024-12-09* Die Bedienoberfläche, der Funktionsumfang und die Datenhaltung sind ohne erkennbare Logik und Struktur. Thanks! ### 1/5 — Needs a lot of work. *2024-05-05, version 3.1.7* One of the most basic things for an audio editor is to simply cut a small piece from the clip. In case for example an slip of the tongue. You cannot easily do this simple edit. Thanks! ### 1/5 — Often does not work for me at all since the last couple of updates *2023-05-15, version 3.0.6* I used to really enjoy using this app but now I have a love-hate relationship with it. Most of the time I cannot use it I often cannot open it. I often can see everything there and I try to record and everything just disappears off the screen. I have such a hard time with this now once I’ve moved my projects to something else I’ll probably just delete it all together. Excellent worth getting. ### 5/5 — Lightweight and Convenient and Totally Useful *2026-06-12* It's lightweight and very convenient for creating multi-track mixes on the go without needing to take out my laptop every time. The Shortcuts Bar is a really nice touch. Love it. My Suggestions: [Needed for smooth workflow] I instinctively look for the Play/Pause Button at the top like in Hokusai, and keep missing it. It would also help if the button could be made larger, similar to Hokusai. [Optional but still desired] It would be nice if the multi-track editor used the same accent colour as the library interface. Using it in Dark Mode, the standard sky blue looks better than the tinted yellow. [Combined suggestion] On that note, adding a UI setting for buttons placement (top or bottom) and accent/background colour adjustment would also be a welcome addition. For now the free version meets my requirement. I will definitely purchase the upgrades in the near future for the automation and advanced features as one-time payment is always my preference over subscription models. Ferrite is the biggest reason I still have an iPad. It is indispensable for my podcast editing. It does things no other app can do. It’s like Adobe Audition on a phone but much, much better. The level of support is second to none and the constant updates and developments put it far beyond the reaches of other apps.
