### 2/5 — Fire your UX and start over

*2025-09-25, version 1.10.33*

The interface is atrocious. So many clicks. Everything is hidden behind obscure icons and selections. No loading notice - just circle of death and a grey screen.

### 5/5 — 5 stars!!

*2023-05-16*

My kids attend an after school program that uses this app and they’re always ready to pick up when I arrive, even at odd times. It’s saved me a lot of time and works really well

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2023-05-14, version 1.10.3*

Super easy to use and I like getting notified when my mom or husband pick up our kid.

### 5/5 — Great app for my kids’ school!

*2023-05-13*

I do see the car line getting better at school since we started using it.

### 5/5 — Great service

*2021-04-17, version 1.3.179*

I love using this app while picking my kids up from school!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2021-04-11, version 1.3.179*

My school started using FetchKids and now I don’t have to wait to pick up my daughter

### 2/5 — No way to save password or set default login screen

*2021-03-31*

There should be a way to save login information in the Apple keychain so I don’t have to type it in every time. Contacted support once and was told to set auto logout to never and that didn’t change anything. I would also like to be able to set it to open directly to the dashboard so I don’t have to see the announcement page which our school never uses. These would save a lot of time since we use the app every day.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback. We will address the ability to save your password in the Apple keychain for you. Regarding the school announcements page, the school controls whether this page is displayed. We'd be glad to contact the school on your behalf and ask them to turn it off. Please reach out to us at: support@fetchkids.com and provide the school name.

### 5/5 — Great App- Practical, Efficient, and Easy to Use

*2021-03-30*

Makes pickups of my kids so easy, especially with Covid. My kids’ daycare uses this app to coordinate pickups since parents can’t enter the building. My kids are always ready when I arrive. A real time saver!

### 5/5 — Time saver!!!

*2021-03-22*

I love FetchKids! When I arrive at school, my son is ready to be picked up. No more waiting or having to call the school. And, when my husband picks up, I’m notified. I like that too.

**Developer response:** So glad FetchKids is working well for you. If you have any questions or need help from our end, please reach out. We're always glad to assist you!

### 5/5 — Parent

*2021-03-16, version 1.3.173*

I use this every school day and I love it. My child is ready and waiting when I get to school.

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for your 5 star review. Great to know the app is working well for your school.

### 5/5 — Works great and cut down wait times

*2021-03-05*

Easy to use app that makes picking up my children much faster. They are all ready and waiting for me as I pull up!

Clean design, intuitive and seems to help our pick congestion.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2021-02-20, version 1.3.169*

Works as advertised and very happy with it!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Privacy invasive location tracking

*2026-08-19*

There is no reason whatsoever to need location services. This should be a simple process to check in and check out a child without needing to know where I am at any time. This is privacy invasive with no benefit to the user.

UPDATE:
Developer responded below. Their privacy policy says the app works without location services enabled. This is not true. You cannot check out a child unless you enable location tracking. This is 100% unnecessary.

To address the developer response, there is no way to notify staff of my arrival WITHOUT tracking my location.

I will not use this app. I have been vocal with other parents to not use it either as well as pushing to have it replaced with another service.

I recommend talking to your schools, daycares, or other child care services and choose another product. 0/5

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. We understand your concern about privacy. FetchKids uses your device's location only to calculate your estimated arrival time and distance from the school so staff can prepare your child before you arrive, helping make pickup faster and more efficient. Your actual location is never displayed to school staff, is never accessible to them, and is not used to track your movements. The app simply transmits your estimated arrival information—not where you are. We take parent privacy very seriously and designed this feature to provide the benefits of advance arrival notifications without revealing your location.

### 1/5 — Beware

*2025-08-28*

This simple little app was responsible for the worst dismissal in our schools history. There are numerous glitches within the app and we should have taken note of the low review score. If your school's administrators want to use this service/app for mass dismissal be sure they have a backup plan. The app will not work and you will have lots of angry parents. Our small school suffered significant harm to our image and credibility due to this little app.

Take note that all the positive reviews are about the same length and written in similar verse... Sound familiar? They are using bots to dilute the poor reviews. Read further down and see the problems with this service.

**Developer response:** We take reliability and school partnerships very seriously.

We are not aware of any incident matching the claims described in this review, and the statements made here do not reflect our product, onboarding process, or how schools evaluate and use our service.

We work directly with school administrators through extended trial periods and guided launches to ensure successful dismissals and ongoing support. If a school ever experiences an issue, our team works closely with them to resolve it promptly.

We encourage schools with questions to contact us directly so we can provide accurate information and support.

### 1/5 — ‘Another’ app that tracks!!

*2024-08-18*

Unreal. Another app to track me and know my whereabouts, just what the world needs. No thanx. If you value your privacy, do NOT download.

### 1/5 — Tracking your every move.

*2021-11-22, version 1.6.0*

This app will continue to use your GPS, even when not in use.

### 1/5 — Trash and then some

*2021-02-07*

This app is complete trash. Who wants someone monitoring where you are at all times? Not me. Privacy is a huge issue right now and this app
Claims it only alerts the school when you are close and that it doesn’t save your location info. Sound familiar? Same song and dance that other apps have claimed and then been fined for. Hate the app, hate the fact that my son’s school wants to use this. Note: if you do not turn on location services, app doesn’t work. I can’t have location services on because of my job position, so more reasons why this app is trash. Would give negative stars if possible.

FetchKids responded to my review, however it wholly failed to address the privacy issue. It does track your location (GPS is a tracking tool to know your exact location in order to inform the school how far out you are), and it failed to respond to the issue of location services being turned off. After the response, I would rate this app as a negative 5 (-5).

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. Just to clarify, FetchKids does not know where you are at all times. FetchKids sends only your arrival time to the school while a pickup is in progress and that is calculated using GPS, as there is no other way to calculate your arrival time accurately. Arrival time info is transmitted in real time and after the pickup is finished no location information is collected or saved. The goal is to provide the school with advance notice so your child is ready when you arrive, increasing efficiency and safety, and reducing your wait time at the school. The privacy and security of all families using FetchKids is of utmost importance to us. If you have any other questions or concerns, or if you need more information, please contact us at: support@fetchkids.com.

### 1/5 — Disaster for Multiple Kids

*2021-02-06*

When someone else does drop off, both kids are never dropped off successfully. Then when I go to pick up, I’m not able to alert both teachers because it says someone else is still dropping off one of the kids. Also- why isn’t there a drop off va pick up button. It alarming when it says my kids are picked up when I’m expecting them to be dropped off. Last, it often logs in and out 3 or 4 times during my 20 minute commute. It will say one of my kids has been picked up and I always panic that the wrong person picked up my kids!

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for your feedback. Just to clarify, FetchKids is designed for picking up children from school, not for dropping them off. This is the reason why you are seeing pickup and not drop off messages. Drop offs that are not completed are also the result of the school not using FetchKids as it was designed. Schools have requested a drop off feature and it's in the works, but it has not been released yet. We understand that this can cause confusion and distress for you. It would be helpful if you could let us know which school your children attend as as we'd like to provide more training for them on how to use FetchKids. Please contact us at: support@fetchkids.com so we can discuss these issues in more detail.

### 1/5 — Password Policy

*2021-02-01, version 1.3.162*

Application does not provide instructions on password policy on registration page. I kept getting incorrect password when I didn’t register in the past.

### 1/5 — Star Pick Up Button Doesn’t Work!

*2020-10-20, version 1.3.126*

New update from 2 days ago added new start pick up button and it doesn’t work. Click on it and nothing happens. Fix!!

### 1/5 — Can I give 0 stars?

*2020-09-30*

This app is complete trash. There needs to be a way of simply scheduling a pickup at a certain time, for a certain parent, for a certain car, on-demand, an hour before pickup. I don't need an app to track my location in real time to let the school know when I will be arriving. I'm uninstalling and simply calling the school until the UI and options improve.

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for your feedback. Just to clarify, this app only sends the school your arrival time. It does not provide location data to the school. The real time arrival time is sent when you start driving so your child can be ready and easily handed off to you as soon as you pull into the school. When a pickup is scheduled only, if you are running late or get caught in traffic, then it doesn't help the school to have your child ready in real time, when you arrive.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Super timesaver

*2025-02-23*

Love using FetchKids. My children are ready when I get to their school for pickup and waiting times have been reduced a lot. I also like getting notified when others on my pickup team pickup my children. This is an important security feature and gives me greater peace of mind, since I always know where my kids are. 5 stars!!!

### 5/5 — Very helpful

*2025-02-02*

FetchKids has saved me so much time for pickup. I love that my son is always ready when I arrive- he has special needs so the advance notice really helps staff prepare him for my arrival on a daily basis.

### 5/5 — Good Experience

*2023-07-11*

Been using this app at my son’s preschool and it’s been great. Really saves time, especially in bad weather and snow - which we get a lot of in MN! My son’s always ready when I arrive to pick him up.

### 5/5 — Helpful

*2023-07-05*

App saves time and it’s easy to use when my son has schedule changes. And, the biggest plus - he’s ready to go when I arrive.

### 5/5 — Timesaver

*2023-06-26*

My daughter is in an after school program and I usually pick her up on foot after work (in NYC). The fact the school knows when I’m almost there makes getting my kid so much faster.

### 5/5 — Good so far

*2023-06-20*

I’m a grandparent and it’s even simple for me to figure out. That’s saying a lot.

### 5/5 — Convenient and nice interface

*2023-06-12*

Changing from bus to car pickup is a click instead of a bunch of calls. Love that. My daughter’s after school program has been using this app for a while.. I can see when she has schedule changes or make changes for both the school and after school teams.

### 5/5 — Very useful

*2023-06-05*

App was updated recently and now it’s even better because with the student schedule. No more calls to the schools. I can let the school know when my child is going to be out or late. It’s really helpful to see the full calendar and to know the school can see it too Love this new feature!

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2023-05-30*

Super easy to use and I like getting notified when my mom or husband pick up our kid.

### 5/5 — 5 stars!!
