## What is FFR Sleep?

FFR Sleep — Fall Asleep Faster with Your Apple Watch

FFR Sleep is a simple, distraction-free sleep app that helps you fall asleep faster using gentle, rhythmic tapping from your Apple Watch.

No sounds. No bright screens. Just calm, steady feedback designed to quiet your mind and ease you into sleep.

How FFR Sleep Works
	1.	Open FFR Sleep on your iPhone and Apple Watch
	2.	Lie down and tap Next on your phone
	3.	When the Sleep button appears on your watch, tap it
	4.	Focus on the tapping and allow your body to relax

Many people find that concentrating on rhythmic touch helps reduce racing thoughts and makes it easier to fall asleep naturally.

Adaptive Sleep Mode

FFR Sleep uses Adaptive Mode by default.

In Adaptive Mode, your Apple Watch monitors how close you are to falling asleep and adjusts the tapping pattern in real time. The session ends automatically once sleep is detected, or after 20 minutes, whichever comes first.

Prefer a predictable rhythm?
Turn off Adaptive Mode and choose a fixed-duration session with a smooth, slowing tap pattern using the duration slider.

### 1/5 — Paid for ad-free but only given free version

*2026-03-28*

I paid almost $20 for ad-free version but the app still gives me ads. It’s also hard to get it going as the app keeps sending me back to my phone then back to the app, etc., to try to get it to start to begin with, which after toggling back and forth is literally ruining my effort to get into a relaxed state. Finally, the app said it would go for 20 minutes and it only went for 5 minutes. So basically I feel I’ve wasted apprx $20 so if you want to try the free version sure why not, but I just can’t recommend you pay for the ad-free because it still isn’t as-free and isn’t working a described.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.6 — 2026-02-16

Updated in-app text and fixed a small issue with the store listing.

### 1.5 — 2026-01-02

Improved Apple Watch controls with the ability to stop and restart sessions directly from the watch.
We’ve also cleaned up the interface and significantly improved reliability and speed between the iPhone and Apple Watch.

### 1.4 — 2024-01-07

We've done some bug fixes, notably the background not filling up the screen and some issues that were causing issues with functionality.

### 1.3 — 2023-12-26

We've updated the look, and also added some setting adjustments. On your watch, you'll find the ability to navigate to the settings screen. Here, you'll be able to choose adaptive mode.(the default), or set the duration for which the app runs.

In adaptive mode, your watch uses biometrics to determine how close you are to sleep to adjust the tapping frequency. If you don't want that option, you can turn it off and use the slider to change the duration of the tapping.

We also changed the watch functionality so the only difference between ad-supported and subscription is whether you have to watch an ad.

### 1.2 — 2023-02-25

We've added a button to the watch app to refresh the App Store connection. Sometimes on purchase, the watch doesn't see that right away. Tap the button and enter your password, and if you have a valid subscription, you'll get the ad-free experience.
