### 4/5 — Great app, needs a way to export data

*2019-08-20*

I greatly enjoy how feature full and yet simple this app is. It runs great and seems quite accurate. One thing I think is dearly missing is a way to export the signals measured to a file (like csv). Taking pictures is great for qualitative comparison but this tool would be way more valuable if it could be quantitative.

### 3/5 — Not avaiable zoom function

*2018-01-17*

I need zoooomm

### 5/5 — Great for amp hum and tone controls

*2017-10-11*

I saw this being used by RiftAmps on YouTube where he determined the amp hum was 100Hz power supply post rectifier hum simply by looking at this app! No more getting the ‘scope out for such a simple thing! Also very good when testing the effect of various tone control setups or components by showing the exact output with various frequency inputs. Very cool app, and iOS11 compatible 64bit too!

### 5/5 — simple and easy

*2017-09-26, version 1.2.1*

Exactly what I want

### 5/5 — The best.

*2017-09-23*

I’ve used this app extensively in setting Hi-Fi systems up.
Definitely the best spectrum analyser that I’ve used. Quick simple, effective. Detect room nodes in an instant with the speed of tracking achieved. The infinite setting is a handy tool too, for a whole tracks to gauge overall levels. Overall my go to app for rapid, easy analysis. It would be nice to have the option to change colours for background and waveform.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2017-06-15, version 1.2.1*

Super simple. An invaluable tool.

### 4/5 — Nice App

*2017-06-08*

It is a nice app. To get a better result for longterm runs a waterfall diagram wold be really helpful.

### 5/5 — Very nice FFT

*2017-06-05*

The nicest thing about this analyzer is that it has the ability to recognize the particular microphone you have plugged in to your iPhone. I use a Shure MV88 stereo mic. That means that the application is calibrated for my particular microphone! I was able to quickly equalize my sound system and it sounds much better now.

### 5/5 — Fun and sciency

*2017-06-01, version 1.2.1*

If you're curious about tonals, noises, or how loud that concert really is.

### 5/5 — Nice frequency analyzer

*2017-05-27*

It's a nice, simple frequency analyzer that works well. Used it to help explain frequency and pitch to the kid.

There's not a lot of bells and whistles and flashy graphics. May appeal more to a more technical (geeky) user.

Would recommend.

### 5/5 — Fantastically useful

*2017-04-22*

Great piece of software that really helps analyse variou audio probs in industry
Thanks

### 5/5 — Fantastic FFT

*2017-04-11*

Using it for a school project. Tried a few free options and there is nothing close to this app on the market. Works very well!

### 5/5 — Super Analyzer!

*2017-03-31*

Ideal zum PA einpfeifen!

### 5/5 — Works great!

*2017-03-30, version 1.2.1*

Although I would recommend their more expensive, fully featured app. Well worth the money.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2017-02-01, version 1.2.1*

Would be perfect if it can record a samples

### 5/5 — My Fave FFT App

*2017-01-21*

It's fast/slow and window choices, and look and feel are very natural for working in the frequency domain.

Watching music it just "looks" proper.

The ability to decode the frequency peak to a musical note is a natural, but extremely useful feature...

Three features I'd like to see?

1) Screen capture video... share the look of your favorites dynamically.

2) Capture-Process-Slomo: capture a length of audio, process the FFT, then play the video back slowly, with scrubbing, to allow transposition of complex arpeggios...

3) Transpose 2) into musical score or tablature.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2024-03-22, version 1.2.5*

Scale ranges can’t be customized and cannot see low frequencies below 20Hz and DC value. If this were fairly clarified, which it isn’t, I would not have purchased this as it is really useless when those features are what you need.

### 1/5 — Rip off

*2016-01-03*

MAJ vite...

### 1/5 — Basically just volume meter

*2015-07-27*

Doesn't seem to actually discern frequencies with much accuracy at all. Just indicates whether you do or do not have 'noise'.

Not useful

### 2/5 — Flackernder Bildschirm

*2017-10-26*

### 2/5 — Fixed frequency range, no zoom

*2017-08-28, version 1.2.1*

I was interested in 20 - 80 Hz. The range appears to be fixed at 0-21k. So the low frequency resolution is coarse and the is no peak hold for catching unstable sources.

### 2/5 — do not bug people for ratings

*2016-11-02*

a big button, constantly on the screen, just to bug people to review the app is something i can not accept in paid software. works well though.

### 2/5 — OK - but needs work.

*2015-11-28, version 1.2.1*

Flashes under the latest IOS 9.01 - not sure why it's doing that when it didn't under the previous IOS.

### 2/5 — Kind of disappointing

*2013-06-14, version 1.0*

I think I bought the wrong app. Would have likes to be able to expand (zoom) a frequency region of interest. Would have liked to be able to zoom vertical scale as well. No help screen to explain what such things as "mixed" display means.

### 2/5 — Audio

*2013-03-29*

With out tone generator limits the use of this. Also a bar graph would help when setting EQs

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — good stuff

*2025-07-13, version 1.2.5*

heard about it from chris on his rift amps youtube channel.

easy to use great for showing you what your ears are hearing

### 5/5 — Great job

*2020-08-23, version 1.2.5*

This app does exactly what it claims to and looks great. I’ll be using it in the classroom soon to demonstrate concepts like “narrow sound frequency band”. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Review From an EE in Signal Processing: Excellent!

*2020-07-31*

I’m a BSEE (University of Washington, 1995) with experience and a bunch of patents in signal processing. This app is an outstanding tool for understanding the spectral content of an audio signal. It was clearly designed by someone with some expertise in the field, and it’s a joy to use.

### 5/5 — Absolutely fabulous

*2020-07-29*

Works perfectly. My only wish would be to also look at the waveform in the time domain. I use this app for testing new speakers. You will not be disappointed.

### 5/5 — Favorite fee app

*2018-11-20*

As a studio engineer who has to run live sound a few times a year, this app saves me a lot of trouble. I can ring out mics in a heartbeat and solve problems more quickly on the fly. No more sweeping for the exact frequency to notch, or for where to center the de-esser! It’s especially handy on an iPad with its larger display.

### 5/5 — Performant and accurate.

*2018-11-01*

Fantastic! Apps like this are the reason we don’t need to buy a stupidly overpriced bespoke piece of gear for every little niche... unless we want to! Keep up the great work!

### 5/5 — Super!

*2018-07-31, version 1.2.1*

Bardzo dobry program, szczerze polecam.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2018-05-24, version 1.2.1*

The averaging function works really well. It would be nice if I could figure out how to use an accelerometer with it

### 5/5 — Great respect for the app developers

*2018-05-05*

I use it to show my kids what music looks like in the frequency spectrum. Given how much time is required to learn and program an FFT analyzer, I am glad to support the developers efforts.

### 5/5 — Very nice

*2017-10-16*

Very nice app. It hasn’t been updated in quite a long time but it works just fine in iOS 11. I’d like to see an update with more robust features (hi developers) maybe a spectrum analyzer too or more info on the frequency graph etc.
But as it stands it works very well.
