Its lack of performance and reliability is disappointing. My teen has to keep a separate log of drives because it doesn't record them. ### 1/5 — Inaccurate *2019-10-28* It doesn't always remember the trips. Also, can't find how to print the log for the dmv. Without printing, there isn't much use. Also, there's no way to log a drive that you forgot to press the start button. I may move back to the RoadReady app since it does all of that. ### 1/5 — Glitchiest App I Ever Used *2019-06-18* The premise is good, but that’s just about all. The upload of drives to the total sum of hours is just about the glitchiest process I’ve ever had the pain of sitting through. First, the app does not actually upload the trip unless I log out and log back in, at which point the app re-downloads all my trips. The trip I then took is usually then shortened drastically. Example: after I took a half-hour trip that wasn’t uploaded, I signed out and then in just to find the trip had been saved as being five minutes long. Nope. Secondly, it doesn’t add up trips reliably - I had 6.3 hours of driving until one particular log-in, after which I suddenly had only 5. As you can see, it’s so wildly unreliable and extremely unhelpful that the better alternative is actually using the paper method and tracking all my drives manually. ### 1/5 — Glitchy and discouraging *2019-04-09* I’m very disappointed because I just downloaded this app on my phone after it being on my mom’s phone and having completed over 20 hours of driving. My very first trip, I get my very first POOR score. I am clueless as to why it happened, but it specifically says that I left the app, which I never did. The phone was in my mom’s hands the whole time, and nobody ever left the app. It is not fair, and it’s very discouraging. Clearly, there’s a glitch in the app. Why else would it say I left it? ### 1/5 — No logging in *2019-04-01* I can not sign up for an account tired restarting and downloading ### 1/5 — Stopped recording *2017-04-14* After the new update, Drives don't add to the total drive time. They show up but are not scored. **Developer response:** We apologize for the issue you experienced with your drives not adding the hours to the total drive time. Please contact support@motolingo.com so that we can look into your particular situation and get it resolved. ### 2/5 — Issues *2017-07-28* Gives me a 50 or less every time. Tells me i'm distracted but i think its cuz it thinks i'm on the app but i'm not. triggered!!! **Developer response:** We apologize for the issue with the driving distraction score. If you leave the app (to go to another app for example), it will be counted as a distraction and will deduct points from your score. The score is aimed at driving safety so any distraction incidents can really lower the score significantly. Stuck at 9.5 hours records new trips but doesnt add to total ### 5/5 — Perfect parent student tool *2026-06-16* I’ll start by writing that I am not a fan of apps. I often find them more complicated than helpful, but in this case I’ll make an exception. After resisting working with it, I find it is tremendously helpful in showing students, parents, and instructors areas that the student driver needs to work on to improve their skills. Can’t think of anything more you would want as a parent. ### 5/5 — Great update *2019-12-09* This new update is great. Allows me to manually add drives that I forgot to use the app for. Also allows me to print a record of my driving.
