### 3/5 — Inspection

*2013-01-29*

Overall this has potential. Our biggest issue is the amount of steps it takes to do an inspection on the iPad. You have to create and schedule an inspection at your desktop, then sync, then sync the iPad. If you have 20 inspection that day, it adds a lot of pre work before you can go out into the field.

If you could chose an occupancy from your list and create the inspection in the field on the iPad, that would save a lot of time and double entry. It would also be nice to add new occupancies into the iPad when you come across them in the field.

Aside from this, we like the use of the iPads.

### 3/5 — For official use only

*2011-04-27*

After reading some of the reviews I would have hoped the authors of the reviews would have realized this is an official Fire Department use tool. There are cost involved. Our department has incurred the cost and are trying it out. There are some issues with it talking to our desktop version of firehouse and the developers are aware of the problems and are assuring us it will be corrected. The concept is great and this will change the way we inspect our 3000 plus businesses within our city. We are just having a rough time getting it off the ground. For the fire departments out there that currently use Firehouse software in their stations and do inspections and enter it all in Firehouse this will change the way you do business. You might just want to hold off on purchasing the program until all bugs are worked out. As with all iPad apps it takes a little time to get it right.

### 3/5 — FH app

*2010-10-21*

If you read Firehouse data sheets, the app is free. The associated cost is 350 for the application proper, 50 support and 1000 for administrative access. Question is does the 1000 license pertain to one iPad or more than one. The 350 is per iPad and the 50 is a monthly support fee as I understand. Do not know how well it will interface with other programs especially printing on scene inspection reports. Other negative is the sole AT &T for wireless where we have in our agency Verizon. Wifi may not be practical. May try it.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — DO NOT USE!!!

*2022-04-22*

As another reviewer wrote, the IOS update to 15.4 broke FHInspector. It crashes! Does not work at all anymore. The solution from FIREHOUSE is to revert to an older IOS version which Apple does not allow. FH then told me just wait 8 until the new app version is ready! What do we do in the mean time? Maybe spend those months looking for an alternative vendor!

### 1/5 — Not supported

*2022-04-15, version 4.4.1*

Don’t bother with this. They are no longer supporting this app even though it’s still used buy paying customers. Updating to iOS 15.4 or later broke this app and their solution is “don’t update” or revert back to 15.3.1 which they don’t seem to realize is not possible. Our department now cannot use it for their inspections anymore. iOS updates contain security updates which we are requires to install according to policy. Reverting or not updating is not an option please support your app.

### 1/5 — Beware

*2013-06-18*

Beware before buying do your research

### 1/5 — Misleading

*2012-03-06*

My department has been a Firehouse user for many years, I have been considering the app for a while. Got pricing today, I would suggest ACS Firehouse disclose the costs associated with the app up front to avoid confusion.

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2010-10-22*

This was a waste of time. Developers that get you to download their app as a gimmick to sign you up for a $1000+ is ridiculous. No wonder the app is free, you can't use it. I wish there were negative ratings for bs like this.

### 1/5 — Only a demo?

*2010-10-14*

This appears to be a demo, not a real product, although nothing actually says that. I have been looking all over for a price and can't find that either.

Are they intentionally trying to mislead and frustrate potential customers by withholding information?

### 2/5 — Asst. Chief

*2017-07-03*

Very slow to sync with cloud. Would help if you could schedule next inspection for the following year after an inspection is completed. Can't set up new inspections in app. It would be beneficial to be able to take photos regardless of compliance status.

### 2/5 — Inpector

*2014-11-10*

This program was not ready for prime time. There are many "features" like map display of occupancies that require you to go into each individual record on the desktop and enter the 12 digit latitude and longitude, to populate the map.
The strict assignments of companies and shifts for an inspection schedule makes it difficult for departments that conduct inspections starting on one end of the street and to move to the other end; since there is need to go into each record and manually schedule date, shift and unit which is rather awkward way of doing it.
No changes can be done from the street
what so ever except completing an inspection, if there is a new business that is discovered one cannot add a new record from the iPad,
Make sure you don't update the iPad because it sends the program into a erratic sync behavior, where things get scrambled. You must wait for Fire House to release the update patch before you can update the iPad
Hopefully things will improve over time but until then it will remain average or just below at best.

### 2/5 — It's OK

*2014-08-19*

The software is easy to use once it's set up. Taking photos of each violation and having it right on the report for the business owner is fantastic. Getting technical support to answer e-mail or telephones is a huge hurdle. When iPad updates, the app is way behind. When the app has an update, you don't know about it unless you call or e-mail (see above). It doesn't become available through the App Store. The app doesn't allow you to start a random inspection. You have to enter into Firehouse and sync that, then sync the iPad. It's tough to do on the road. This is the only inspection software I have used. I guess this bad rating may be a little unfair becuse I can't compare it with anything. The statements about the support are not unfair.

### 3/5 — Still buggy

*2015-07-28*

This version created another bug in the signatures. Now when people sign the signatures blend together unless you write very small and stay to the right side of the signature box.

## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Wonderful

*2018-08-02*

Wonderful application for mobile inspections

### 5/5 — Chad Walls

*2011-04-11*

This app is great. Reduces paper work and time spent entering data. The money saved on time and pre printed forms will pay for the app. The guys at ACS desrve a 5 star rating. Good Job!

### 5/5 — Ipad for inspections

*2011-01-02*

This looks very promising. We are in the process of getting approval to bill with this application. We currently use a paper format that is very costly and time consuming. We are looking forward to approval to be able to use this system to streamline our inspections process, increase compliance and safety! This will be a must have for any department looking to go paperless.

### 5/5 — Can't get to demo

*2010-12-18*

Can't get past the authorize IPad screen to see the demo.

### 5/5 — It's a demo of the full version.

*2010-10-22*

This is great! It allows anyone to see how the program works without incurring the full program cost until they have approval of their city. It works fantastic. This is a game-changer.

### 4/5 — Occupancy & Hydrant inspections

*2017-12-02*

Our department has been using firehouse since 2001 and the inspections app as soon as it came online. It has made our lives a lot easier, no more filing cabinets full of old inspection reports. App is pretty simple to use once all is setup correctly.

One thing we would really like to see would be hydrant inspection checklists.

### 4/5 — Inspections

*2013-05-10*

Great product and very useful. Improvement, I would like to see.

1. Be able to initiate a new occupancy from the field. Without having to go to iWeb.

2. The copy of the inspection received by the customer should reflect the type of inspection performed.

### 3/5 — Email

*2015-02-11*

The email function is broke and crashes the app as soon as you touch the "email envelope" on the top right. Fix immediately please.

### 3/5 — Jetman

*2013-10-10, version 2.0.1*

This is a great concept and when the bugs get worked out it should be a great program. Until then, it has limited use and a lot of inspections require additional notes and manual entry. Support has been okay but should be much better considering the overall cost of of this software, the PC software, and yearly support fees. It would have been nice if users would have been warned not to upgrade to iOS 7.
