## What is fiammo?

fiammo is a place to write something small every day, for the people you choose, and let it go.

Each day there's a prompt. Answer it in a line or a page, or tap one of its options and say why. Write it as a post for your friends, or keep it to Just me, where only you can read it. On Saturdays the prompt asks how your week went, in two taps. A post burns after a while: it's there for a day, then it's gone, so what you write is for now, not for a record.

Your friends are in circles you make, and every post goes to the circles you pick, or to a few people by name. Nothing is public. Nobody outside the people you chose can see what you wrote, and there is nothing to scroll for strangers.

When something a friend wrote stays with you, echo it: choose the line, add a note if you like, and it goes to them as a message. Echoes are how conversations start here.

Messages are encrypted end to end, one to one and in group chats. Only the people in a conversation can read it. Send photos, voice notes, links with a preview, and reactions. Open a conversation's details to see everything the two of you have shared, gathered by month.

Catch up is a private list of people you want to stay close to, with a reminder on a schedule you set, so keeping in touch isn't left to chance.

Over time, your writing becomes a sky: a constellation read once a week from what you wrote, with a star for each thing you keep coming back to. Your profile keeps a month of writing at a glance, and turns over to show your fire.

fiammo is for a small circle, not a crowd. Write for the people who matter to you, and let the rest burn.

### 1.9 — 2026-09-21

Notifications take you where they point. A message opens its conversation at that message, a comment opens the post at that comment, an echo opens the post it came from, and a new friend opens their profile. Saturday's weekly prompt opens Home, where you answer it.

Tap anywhere in a text box to start typing, not just on the words: the message and echo composers, search, comments, and every field in the app.

Posts read a size larger, and timestamps, usernames and other grey text are darker and easier to read. Your bio now shows on your own profile, the way friends see it.

Fixes: conversations open without jumping and hold still as you scroll. A conversation opened from a notification shows the new message straight away. A sent message no longer stays in the box after you send it, including after dictating. Tapping the envelope after you post no longer opens the post underneath.

### 1.8 — 2026-09-19

Saturdays bring a weekly prompt. Two taps: how the week was, and how your energy was. Add a note if you want; its question follows your answers, so a great week that left you wiped asks what's taking it out of you. Friends see where your week landed on each scale, and can echo it.

When a post goes out to your friends, an envelope draws itself and seals, and says how long they have to read it. An echo going out gets a drawn line of its own.

Every echo on your post is listed on its page, with its note, and opens the conversation right at the echo. Echo from the feed and the page becomes the post once it's sent. You can dictate an echo's note too.

Alerts are grouped into New, Today, Last 7 days and Last 30 days, and a friend request stays in New until you answer it.

Posts only you can see are now called Just me, everywhere in the app. You'll hear when someone in your contacts joins fiammo, with a way to add them. Your writing streak sits at the top of your writing card, and you can pick the next date for a catch-up from the person's page.

Fixes: accepting a friend from anywhere starts your conversation with a hello, and accepting one in Alerts no longer makes the list jump.

### 1.7 — 2026-09-16

Messages are now encrypted end to end, in conversations and in group chats. Only the people in a conversation can read it. A notification still shows what a message says, and links in messages show a preview card.

Tap the name over a conversation to see its details: the person's profile, a mute switch, and every photo and link either of you has shared, gathered by month, with screenshots sorted apart from the photos. Group chats have the same page.

You can dictate a post, and it's tidied up as you speak. After you pick a prompt answer, you can say why in a line, posted with it. A post's photos are one collage, and posts and photos open out of their cards.

Reminders: one about a message you haven't opened, and one about a friend's post to echo before it burns.

Posts, profiles and echoes are kept out of screenshots and screen recordings.

Fixes: journal entries are only ever yours to read, swiping back out of a conversation no longer quotes a message, and alerts from deleted accounts are gone.
