## What is Fiddlicator?

The Fiddlicator is an audio tool which can simulate various kinds of acoustic environment by the convolution of the input signal with a custom impulse response.
It was developed to simulate an acoustic body resonance for electric musical instruments (mainly the electric violin), but it can also be used for a cab simulation with proper impulse response files (not included). 
The impulse response files can be imported via iTunes share or via 'Open in' option from another application. 
The Fiddlicator is not appropriate to use as convolution reverb engine, because it can not process impulse response files longer than ~0.35 sec. (1.4 sec. with Fiddlicator Plus & MIDI extension)

This is an awesome guitar cab. IR loader, love the eq section. You can import .wav files from AudioShare, so you can also use it as a convolution reverb. Wish it was AUv3 but works fine as IAA.

### 5/5 — Absolutely amazing for solid body 5 string violin.

I really loved the feel of my solid body electric violin with a BTS bridge transducer. However I soon realized that I was never going to get a rich violin tone without a sound box. I tried tons of stuff on and off for 25 years. Short delay, reverb, eq, tube pre amps, acoustic resonator effects... 
I am using an Apogee Jam lightening port adapter. I started this app and chose a violin impulse file and as soon as I even tapped the end of my patch cable, I could hear the the violin body acoustics, like when you tap the body of an acoustic violin. It sounds amazing with just the convolution without even messing with the other features. AUE played nice with Garage Band. No updates for a while. I hope the dev is still maintaining this. Some Cello impulses would be great too.

I am using Fiddlicator to run my own acoustic guitar IRs. It is one of the few ios apps which will let me do this and it does it very well.
The one complaint which I have is that there doesn't seem to be any way to delete IR wav files. Not even ones which you have added yourself. Once it's on the list it stays there.

I downloaded around 8 audio recording apps to record my acoustic guitar on. I have no problem purchasing the premium versions of good apps. This was the first one I tested. And what sounded simple to use. Aimed for my need. And seemed like an affordable upgrade. 
After around 5 mins of trying to figure out how to record I lost interest. 
But I was able to find the upgrade feature. Too bad this app gets a fail

For years, I have only used Fiddlicator as a mere convolution engine and to give sawtooth waves a sort of "acoustic" character, despite being synthetic. Now that I own an electric violin - the first violin I've played in over 17 years - I can fully appreciate what Fiddlicator has to offer. It gives my e-violin the acoustic qualities of a traditional violin I need, without shelling out hundreds or thousands of dollars for the real deal. 

If I could give this app more than five stars, my rating would literally be over 9,000. Fiddlicator is easily one of the best apps I've downloaded for not only my iPhone, but also my iPad.

Once you get the hang of it, this app provides great features like an impulse response convolution engine, parametric EQ, reverb, and delay.  You can set each of the 6 presets with it’s own Impulse response, and settings for all the other parameters.  The trick is to set things the way you want, and then long-hold on the preset name.  You can then change the preset name and hit SAVE.  If you don’t hit save, then all the settings will be lost when you close the app or go to another preset.
I use the app with an iRig HD and it works great using the amp output or headphone output for silent practice.
I bought the upgrade so I can use much longer impulse responses.  With that, this app does a much better job than a Mooer Radar IR pedal that cost me much more money.

I NEVER write app reviews, but I’m making an exception in this case. I use IRs a bunch on my guitar pedalboard for amp cabinet as well as acoustic guitar images. Sometimes when I’m traveling I use GarageBand’s amp modeling and a little Yamaha THR5A for practicing using one of my thinline Godin Multiac guitars. That mostly gives me the tube amp/cab sound I’m after, but I was not satisfied with the acoustic sound compared to what I’m able to achieve with the equipment on my full pedalboard. So today on a whim, I searched the App Store for an app that could possibly load my 3-Sigma acoustic guitar IRs and hopefully integrate that with GarageBand. I figured I was probably dreaming, but ran across this gem of an app. Wow! Not only does it allow me to load up every acoustic guitar IR I own and integrates seamlessly with GarageBand, but the EQ functions of this are outstanding. With its full featured IR loader including high/low cuts and mix options as well as a full featured parametric EQ , this app makes the perfect acoustic/electric companion for GarageBand or any modeling amp for iOS.

If I have one suggestion for the developer that is to possibly rethink the branding and market it towards acoustic guitar players who are big into impulse responses and represent a much larger market share than fiddle players. They are usually more than willing to fork out cash for something like this.  If this app included a few acoustic guitar images in addition to violin and viola it would likely be very popular. My .02

Either way I feel guilty using such an awesome app for free so I will be purchasing the “plus” upgrade. Thank you for making my day. You rock!
