Suspiciously akin to shadow fight 3 where you’re only playing an ai via the characters created by others rather than real people. If so this is a real shame, plenty of more data heavy games do much more whilst keeping it truly multiplayer so I hesitate to believe it but still its so easy I must wonder. **Developer response:** Hello! Excellent graphics, fun multiplayer competition, and cool outfits/techniques. However there are some issues with it. Firstly, once you’re max level, it’s quite difficult to keep leveling up certain items you may want for your characters, even if you spend money on them. Secondly, the glitches aren’t too frequent, when they do they’re disappointing. For example, I spent money on a special outfit and game currency only to have it glitch out when I purchased it. I clicked it again thinking it never went through, only to be double charged. And numerous times after leveling up certain legendary items, I have painstakingly saved up “shields” (which is the only way after you max out everything to get keep upgrading any items), only to have the game glitch out, shut off, and lose a large portion of those shields. And finally, I learned that if you go to the one section to “Report a problem”, it doesn’t allow you. Click on it all you like it will never help you contact the company. However, despite its shortcomings, I do recommend this game if you like fighting games and swordplay. We will be happy to help you! ### 3/5 — PVP might be fake? *2022-08-21, version 2.65.11192* I love this game. But once you finish campaign, it gets pretty boring. The only interesting thing to do is PvP. But for some reason you can pause while battling on opponent. And all my opponents do a taunt at the exact same spot. And on top of that, in ranked, you can take however long you want if you’ve beaten your opponent the first time. It just stays in the selection screen. Then when you do click to enter the fight, both people are in the starting position. All this has made me question whether or not PvP is real. ### 3/5 — Good game however *2022-08-20* The content was great up until the second chapter where you have to do online duels to progress, I waited in ‘searching for opponent’ for half an hour before giving up. I love it! *2021-06-20, version 2.65.9476* So I never write reviews but I had to make an exception for this game, it’s amazing! The fencing moves are so realistic and it is so addicting, I love how you get to start as a basic fencing student and move on to like championships and stuff, plus it always lets you retry until you win. I have experienced NO ADS AT ALL and it’s soooooo great, since most games have tons of ads, it’s easy to play and has really got me interested in this sport and taught me many different moves, it’s just such a fun game in general! Absolutely ignore the reviews that say this is a bad game, it’s a complete lie. It’s one of the best games out there! It’s the most realistic fencing game too, you get to have this really live experience while fencing which just makes it even better. It is totally worth getting and it’s free and you don’t have to pay anything, so at least TRY the game, people, play for 10 minutes at least, you’ll love it! I promise! It’s free so just try. Ok there’s some odd rule changes from the real sport, and fencing epee vs sabre is unrealistic, but it’s a mobile game! I like it! Here’s something I spotted. For a sport that has a history of elitism, (it really isn’t today and I recommend all to try it for real), there’s not one black character. You only see hands but they’re all white, the spectators all white, the coach is white, the manager is white, everyone is white. I have lived in U.K. and USA, and I’m not a race activist, but this kinda stuck out when playing the game. And in real life the FIE and national fencing bodies have been putting a massive push on ethnic representation for years. Never tried fencing games but this is very good. ### 4/5 — Great game...? *2020-12-19, version 2.65.8853* So when I play quick matches in the campaign, the opponent always block breaks me when I have never been able to block break my opponents. Sometimes, when I press the button that represents my special technique, the animation doesn’t play and the opponent doesn’t get hit but it still counts as used and the cooldown is reset. Also, the “right of way” rule could use some work. Other than that, this games graphics and gameplay are great. I feel like you should be able to pay either gold or money to switch an ability that comes with a piece of the suit with another one, ya know, just for fun. I would 99% recommend this game and the 1% is the fact that the normal conversations that I have with my friends don’t consist of recommending games and websites. ### 5/5 — SO MUCH FUNN *2020-12-07* this game is the best game hands down. HTWSTROYXIII ### 2/5 — Wow, it’s pay to win *2020-10-10, version 2.65.8427* I remember playing this game years ago and it actually being enjoyable to play as every match were pretty quick and simple to do even if the AI you were playing against was set to hard difficulty. I downloaded the app again just to see how the game was like and it has changed for the worse. The first few matches are easy but after that the Ai’s become extremely frustrating and annoying to play against because of the “concentration” meter and how they seem to dodge all your attacks until the game allows you to get one pity hit. You could upgrade your character but there’s so much crap free items the game gives you before everything else is literally just paying. There’s no strategy or skills needed for this game now. It’s all, “pay for this to have your concentration meter fill up faster” or “pay for this to have your player move faster.” ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — I lose progress regularly, quests don't work *2024-08-06* This morning I bought a gold dragon jacket from the store. Came back in the afternoon and it was gone. The store also reset and my money was gone. I also had a new account name and my equipment was changed?? This happened once in the past as well. I beat an opponent 12:0 once and still didn't get the promised "knockdown" quest rewards. Some quests are just impossible to do because they didn't add enough campaigns in the game. Marathon is a garbage event btw ### 1/5 — Garbage *2022-08-23* Would be nice if your block lasted for longer than 0.0001 seconds. Or if it didn’t have a 5 second cooldown. Now they’ve added card packs and other pay to win crap and made the campaign virtually unplayable without paying money. This is a joke and unfairly difficult. Do better or better yet, fix this crap Update: I upgraded to a new phone and while ten other games seamlessly kept my progress, this incompetent cashgrab run by morons deleted years of progress and reset me, even after I uninstalled and reinstalled and chose server over device. The FIE needs to fire these clowns and hire a deranged howler monkey instead. You know, someone more competent than they currently have. ### 1/5 — Game is very fun, but cheats to make you lose in campaign *2020-08-19, version 2.65.8018* There’s a “combat power” in this game. In campaign the enemies will also have said combat power. If you try to fight enemies somewhat above your combat score, you will hit paywalls where the game simply won’t let you win (attacks and blocks that shouldn’t be possible) until you get better equipment. The only way to do that without hindering future progress is to pay up or wait till the game regenerates the free ad equipment or the free rewards for pvp. Edit: turns out the pvp isn’t even actually pvp. You can “pause” the pvp. In reality you’re just fighting an ai with another player’s name and stats. The same shenanigans above still apply (inferior stats? Skill doesn’t matter, you WILL lose, the game will make sure of it). This is coming from a programmer and a fencer. It’s too apparent when the game allows the ai to parry “unblockable” special skills or parry and attack in the same frame. Luckily the game doesn’t do it too often, but when it does, it’s blatantly obvious. If you want to play a pay to win, gacha minus the fan service, fencing game, then be my guest. This is not what I hoped a fencing game would be. ### 1/5 — Impossible to play *2020-03-27* I played this game in 2017 and finished the game without buying anything, they just made the game impossible to play, annoyingly hard making me wait unnecessarily and making power ups impossible. And laughably yr still bombarded with ads ### 1/5 — Why did it have to change this way? *2019-08-14, version 2.51.5613* It used to be awesome before this big pay to win update and I lost everything I had, and now I can't get into a duel because it keeps getting errors stopping me from playing in the campaign, I just can't stand the changes the fact that the AI gets to use the mastered attacks but mastered attacks can't be used by your own player, which results in your counter strike being useless! Just don't even use it then! And for the new recent update, I really wished it wouldn't make it so that when you lunge, the enemy does their own regular attack, so if you lunge, they will use a mastered thrust, or they will just try to use counter time while about a meter away, what game mechanic is that? Oh and it also makes lunges too good or too bad. ### 1/5 — How did it turn so greedy? *2019-07-27* I played it when it came out 2 years ago, used to be a great enjoyable game and I wouldn’t mind pay some extra once or twice. After the recent update my old progress is entirely gone, that’s fine at first but after playing it again for a few days I’ve got to the point I can’t win any match against either AI or other players simply because they have few hundred higher gear points, and I can’t get better gears because I can’t win any game, which means the only way I can progress is by paying real money, which is absolutely disgusting. Good thing is I have other games I can enjoy because of my skill, not because of the stupid pay to win mechanics. From a breathe of fresh air to the current state, this has been a real shame. So long. ### 1/5 — Good, if you want to lose and never progress *2019-04-30* First, im not the best at the game, but, I still had a 78% win rate. Yet this one stage game along, and try and try as I could, after 12 attempts, no matter what, with change everything. I still lost. Down to 63%. And then I realised all the ads, telling me to buy stuff. Which then made me realise that this game was in fact, a pay to win game. Which purposely made me lose, no matter what I did. ### 1/5 — What a shame *2016-07-22, version 2.15.104* This game has such potential. Most games like this start out easy and as you move up the ranks the opponents get more and more difficult but you also gain levels and gear to offset this and that's what makes a game fun. This one unfortunately went from easy straight to hardcore by level 2. Right after you make your first purchase. I your opponent must have at least 5-7 levels more than you. It's a real shame to as I was really enjoying it up to that point. But that's what's great about the App Store. I can just delete and find something else to play. I also rarely type out a review I usually just give it a star rating. He began jumping about 7 feet backwards every time l blocked instead of just blocking on the spot. lt made it impossible to follow up a block with a fast counter-strike because then l was too far away. lnstead of me being able to pin my opponent down at their end of the runway, they were doing it to me. And l couldnt find any way to switch it back to how l wanted it. I never write reviews but this game is different. It’s a little hard to upgrade your weapons, so the fights may end up a little lopsided on the power levels. The way to win in this game isn’t paying, which is surprising, as I was expecting it to be a pay-to-win type of game. As I was saying, the way to win in duels, campaign fights, etc, is by choosing and honing your skills with a certain weapon and moveset. You can play defensively, offensively, etc. All in all, this game does have it’s glitches, though they’re easy to overlook, the overall combat system is very fun and good, though some mechanics may seem flawed and unfair. I rate this game a 9.5/10. Def recommend. ### 5/5 — A Very Good Game *2023-02-05* This Is A Very Fun Game Of Fencing, And Is Very Well Coded To Be Realistic, Competitive And Engaging. It Uses Real Fencing Moves, And Has A Brilliant Selection Of Game Modes. I Would Definitely Recommend This Game. I Only Have ONE SMALL Problem To Be Fixed. OCCASIONALLY, When Having A 3v3 Duel, I Will Defeat My Adversary, But It Will Go Back To The Game’s Home Screen And A Sign Will Pop Up Saying “UNFINISHED RANKED FIGHT FOUND. CONTINUE?” When This Happens, I Have Not Left The Battle At All. Then, It Goes Back To The Battle Saying The Character I Was Using Had Been Defeated (Which It Hadn’t!), And Forces Me To Pick One Of My Other Two Characters. However when fighting a player with better gear their concentration bar fills up extremely quickly making it unfair sometimes.
