## What is FieldScaper?

Advanced field recorder combined with a sound warp engine and a collection of ready to use dynamic presets for iPad and iPhone. Discover new ways to create and construct unusual and exciting sounds from any environmental audio recordings or samples recorded from other apps through Inter-App audio or Audiobus.

The main advantage is that you can record and modify samples along the way within the single app. You can record sounds and noises, delete unwanted parts and then use presets to give a whole new sounding or create spectacular soundscapes and textures to use them as loops in this app. And even use FieldScaper as effect in real time with other apps or external input.

The FieldScaper consists of two main parts. The first part is the field recorder with special options for different ways of record environmental sound from microphone or record other sound sources. With the sample editor you can cut or split the source sample for more convenient use. The second part is the scaper sound engine that with using dynamic presets can easily transform the most ordinary sounds into something absolutely different. These parts connect with each other into one whole but you can use recorder or scaper independently.

The FieldScaper supports complete MIDI control for all faders, knobs and many buttons. You can change the parameters of oscillators, filters, delays and mixer by using any external MIDI controller or MIDI apps like sequencers. With the MIDI controllers this app becomes very comfortable to use at live performance. 

Field recorder:

- Auto stop record when signal below threshold or by time.
- Record series of samples by a signal presence.
- Recorder timer in seconds or measure (sync with BPM).

Perhaps the app already does this , but if I could apply reverb, delay , pitch change etc… in real time to the sounds I am monitoring- not just processed after recording then I would give the app 5 stars. 

What I am hoping to do is emulate a series of apps by rjdj called ‘hear’ which gave a listener methods to manipulate the auditory world into trippy sonicscapes - I used to use ‘hear’ in museums to give soundtracks to the art.

Is use this on phone and ipad and its great.
From the effect to the creation of your own effects. The only complaint I have is loading or moving sound files isn’t to intuitive and often I’ve hit a wrong button and cleared my sample or loaded the previous recording.

Seriously,  as a samplist a field recorder is fundamental, but this ans Paul’s stretch have broke my brain 1 too many times and we’ll… wish I knew how to use it.  

Still auto 5 stars for never crapping it’s pants while I tried my all to break it

Auf der Suche nach einer Fieldrecorder App bin ich darüber gestolpert. Naja, was soll ich sagen, ein Fieldrecorder ist die App, aber das is erst der Anfang. Der langweiligste Sound den du aufnimmst entfaltet sich hier zu etwas völlig neuem Wunderbarem. Es ist ein Experimentier-Feld, wo man mit seinen Aufnahmen etwas völlig Neues kreieren kann. Wer auf der Suche nach etwas völlig anderem ist, wer gerne abseits des Normalen herumfischen will, ist hier genau richtig! Man soll sich von dem GUI nicht entmutigen lassen ebenso nicht vom Alter der App. Ein bisschen herumspielen muss man schon bis sich alles ergibt. Einiges ist bisschen versteckt anderes nicht da wo man es erwartet. Aber eh, das wird schon 😉! Klare Empfehlung für alle, die dem Glitch und dem Experimentellen aufgeschlossen gegenüber stehen! Punkt

This is a winner in every sense of the word.  A true gem that will function well on your iPad or your iPhone.  Do not spend money on a different field recorder when you can have the Field Scaper which is a field recorder + magic.  Your younger brother will want it, your dad will be jealous and your dog will miss your attention.

I used this from 2014 to 2018 extensively.  I recently reset and restored my new phone. Now there is "Fieldscapper" listed as a software update.  No amount of pressing the "(UPDATE)" button will cause it to up. 

This app is broken. Please fix it.
