One issue which remains for me is the continued slowing of the interface over time. Fixing this would warrant the program 5 stars. 1/6/20 - Frequent, repeated, freezes and crashes since yesterday’s update (on new iPad air (2019). Almost unusable and I lowered rating from 4 stars to 1. Nevertheless, this program seems to have great potential. 11/15/19 - Still freezes and stutters (on iPad air 2nd gen). EDITED - Article counts corrected but freezes/stuttering remain. Article counts have numerous bugs. Also, program freezes fairly often. (since upgrading to ios 13.1.2) Was a 4-5 star program. ### 4/5 — Very good RSS reader, but a subscription? *2026-05-08* The customization options and overall feature set are extensive. The app has been stable and buttery smooth. In addition, the developer is very responsive. My only gripe is the subscription model, I’m not a fan. Some very basic features are locked behind the pro subscrition, not cool. For me personally, I’m not sure this is worth $20/yr. It’s an RSS app..I don’t understand why the subscription model would apply to an app like this. Doesn’t make sense to me. **Developer response:** Fiery Feeds is now over a decade old, version 1 was a one time purchase. But the simple answer is, if I hadn’t switched to a subscription to get recurring income, I would have had to abandon the app years ago and It would simply no longer exist. Für selbst erstellte Zertifikate gibt es eine Einstellung, diese zu akzeptieren. Das gibt es bei der offiziellen Wallabag App nämlich nicht, womit sie für mich unbrauchbar ist. Do you really want to read about Lebron James or the Golden Globes? Love the app, just needs this absolute functionality… UPDATE: or you could put a simple button in the app that says “filter”. Add key word instead of going through all those steps you described aye? Not realistic to not read feeds with certain topics since they are news worthy to some in all major news feeds. ### 1/5 — Not very good *2022-09-11* Initially, it was very good. Experience over time is pretty bad though. Doesn’t do a good job of cleaning up unread items. Gets so full eventually it just crashes. Can’t even use it. Overpriced. Reeder has all the same features for about half the price of the yearly subscription to this app. They don’t seem to be innovating at all. It’s at cash grab phase of the app lifetime. Why am I paying you a subscription for you not adding new features? The app constantly comes unlicensed from Pro and I have to find the fairly hidden button to re-license. Dishonest cash grab. Switched to Reeder and managed official Miniflux for a better experience with more features. **Developer response:** You can change how many read items are kept in the account settings, there is no such thing as “cleaning up unread items”, I actually consider the article limits for unread items in other apps a big issue. So all unread articles are kept forever, or until you mark them read. The subscription also includes the macOS app, and is priced accordingly, and I do ship 2 or 3 big feature updates a year, plus 10-20 (!) smaller ones. Reeder may be a pretty app, but it certainly does not have “more features. And the app starts to be very slow. I thank you for the answer but I don’t agree. The app use a lot of ressources after a long use and not only at the beginning Articles and images are already loaded and cached. It’s only after several minutes of using the app and after opening several articles. **Developer response:** This can happen after loading a lot (thousands) of new articles, usually after the first setup, but once it has indexed all articles and cached the relevant images, the CPU usage should go down considerably. ### 1/5 — No way to hide read articles? *2022-06-06, version 2.6.3* Complete non-starter for me. I have a large number of feeds I follow. This is the best aggregator there is. Layout is clean. It is very customizable. It is aesthetically the best. It is also the fastest. People, if you are serious about your RSS feeds, this is best you can get. The customization options and overall feature set are unmatched. No other app comes close. I used a different app on my Mac because I needed a minimalist, always-on-top window. I was going to use another app on both platforms, so I decided to write to the developers asking them to consider adding this feature to the Mac version. I was blown away by their response! Not only did they reply quickly, but they also implemented the feature! This is a beautiful and functional app, but more importantly, it shows there is a responsive and user-listening team behind it. Been trying out many other RSS apps for the past month for the purpose of replacing Feedly. Finally landed on Fiery and love it! Will use on all iDevices with subscription. Backup and restoring the settings doesn't really work (not all the settings are restored - unsure if it's broken or it was meant to be that way). I would also hope to see a setting that allows us to set the default article view mode (instead of just the options such as always open in browser, and remember last view mode) ### 5/5 — The best experience *2025-09-27* I cancelled my subscription to Fiery Feeds, because the way I was using RSS had changed. But when I tried the updated version, I remembered why I used it in the first place, and the new updated user interface that takes full advantage of iPadOS 26, even on my old iPad mini: it’s just superb. It looks even better on a device that supports liquid glass!
