Can I grab fifteen minutes of your time? Almost everyone has sent that message. Almost everyone has also let one sit unanswered in the inbox for a week, or forever. Needing time with people is understandable, responding at scale to everyone who needs your time is where things break down. Fifteen puts a price on the ask. The price is doing something useful for both parties. It tells the person being asked that this question is serious. It tells the person asking that they are no longer requesting a favor. IF PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS ASKING YOU You set a rate. You share your link. Requests arrive with the question attached and the money already committed, so everything in your Fifteen inbox is worth opening. IF YOU ARE THE ONE ASKING Paying takes the awkwardness out of the ask. There is no mutual connection to hunt down and no favor to repay later. You are not left wondering whether you just imposed on someone's afternoon. Write your question. Send the request. If the person accepts, you have their attention on it. If they decline, you are not charged. WHY CAPPED MESSAGES The cap is part of why this works. Fifteen is enough room for a real question and a real answer, plus the follow-up you think of ten minutes later. It is also small enough that both people say what they mean.
