### 3/5 — Too expensive

*2026-08-10, version 4.154.5*

I would pay $3.99/month but $70 is too much

### 2/5 — Review

*2026-08-01, version 4.153.0*

To much $ for little improvements

### 2/5 — Profit over protection

*2026-07-25, version 4.153.0*

My wife was recently diagnosed with Alpha Gal, found this app, and paid for a yearly subscription. It’s great that she can scan the bar code on foods to see if there are unknown allergens. I downloaded it so that when I shop, I can make sure the foods are safe. Apparently I also have to pay a yearly fee to use the app from my phone. I understand paying a yearly fee for the app and I’m fine with it. Not being able to share it across two phones is just straight greed.

### 5/5 — So easy!

*2026-07-20, version 4.152.0*

I am new to food intolerances after getting some specialty bloodwork done, and Fig has made it so easy to identify products that I can/cannot eat. This has saved me so much time searching the shelves for things I can tolerate!

### 5/5 — So happy!

*2026-07-20, version 4.152.0*

Fig has been a game changer since my endometriosis diagnosis in May, and now needing to stay away from inflammatory foods, Fig makes it so so much easier to find out what is safe for me! I couldn’t be more appreciative of this app have all the features and education it does!

### 5/5 — The best app ever

*2026-07-19, version 4.152.0*

This app makes it super easy to eat if you have restrictions.

### 5/5 — Amazing Customer Service

*2026-07-17, version 4.152.0*

I would absolutely recommend this app to anyone. I have used it a bunch in the past, it makes grocery shopping so much easier when you’re shopping with a goal in mind. I am not currently in that stage of my life anymore, so I thought I had canceled my Fig+ but hadn’t. I contacted customer service thinking it would be a long shot but they replied and refunded me right away!

### 5/5 — A Lifesaver

*2026-07-15, version 4.152.0*

We have kids with different allergies, some of them severe. This app has been a lifesaver—sometimes literally! A quick scan tells us if an item off the shelf is likely to cause problems. We love the fact that you can set up different profiles for different people/allergies.

Just remember: even if the item scans green, double check the ingredients list yourself, especially if your allergy is severe. The app is pretty accurate, but it always pays to double check.

### 5/5 — AMAZING!!!

*2026-07-10, version 4.151.3*

This app is AMAZING for finding safe foods for my dietary restrictions! This makes grocery shopping so much easier by being able to quickly scan an item and see all the ingredients! 10/10 worth it!!

### 5/5 — Life Saver !!!

*2026-07-06, version 4.151.3*

Finding this app is a true life saver when dealing with a complicated allergy !!!!! Easy to use and do up to date. Thank you for creating this incredible tool ❤️

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Just don’t agree to the free trial…that you have to agree to.

*2026-08-18, version 4.157.0*

Ok, the actual app is fine. The frustration is how they force you into the free trial. I know, you’re like “you mean like every other site and app ever?” Nope. So, you go through the onboarding process, enter all the allergies, etc. Then at the end of the onboarding, they want you to sign up for their seven day free trial. Fine. But to avoid Apple taking a cut of the fees, they take you into the browser and have you complete it via Apple Pay. It brings you into the app and you start using it, tada! You don’t realize the fatal error that’s just occurred. They now have you locked into a free trial and you don’t have an account. So, you come back an hour later, the session on the app has ended….and nothing has saved and you can’t access your free trial. You also can’t cancel it through Apple subscriptions because they took you out of the app. You eventually can cancel the subscription by using the email used on your Apple Pay on their stripe portal, but you might be so frustrated by the end that you’ll write a review

### 1/5 — Scammy

*2026-08-09, version 4.154.5*

Very very difficult to cancel subscription. You can’t cancel it through the settings on your phone and it doesn’t seem like you can cancel it through the app either. It seems like the only way you can cancel is by emailing their support. Definitely will not be utilizing any of their services again if they are going to essentially hold their customers hostage

### 1/5 — Literal joke

*2026-08-04, version 4.153.0*

I did the free trail. Only works in store. Can’t check things online. AND WHEN THE TRAIL ENDED CHARGED ME $75!!!!!!

### 1/5 — Fraudulent charges

*2026-07-30, version 4.153.0*

I’ve had this app for several months with the free version. I rarely used it and planned to delete it eventually. I was just charged a subscription fee with no notice that I did not authorize. The app will not allow me to manage the subscription or cancel it in any way, and the only way to contact support is through email with a reply “we will get back to you in a few days.”

### 1/5 — Not helpful.

*2026-07-30, version 4.153.0*

It basically redirects you to restaurant websites, what I was already doing before anyway. I’m better off bringing readers to the grocery store and checking myself. When it can’t find a product, it wants me to add it for them. No thanks. Wish I never downloaded it and did the year. Save yourself the $50.

### 1/5 — Rip off

*2026-07-28, version 4.153.0*

I have alpha gal and downloaded this because a friend had recommended it to me. Biggest mistake of my month…they charged me $70 for a subscription that I never agreed to through my Apple Pay. I never wanted the subscription nor can I get my money back in any way. I wish I could give a zero star rating but I’m sure they would charge me for that.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work.

*2026-07-23, version 4.153.0*

Every single item I’ve ever scanned is gone. Now, anytime I scan any item it says not found. Huge scam!

### 1/5 — BEWARE

*2026-07-19*

This app failed at the one thing it's supposed to do. It repeatedly marked products as safe even though they contained my listed allergen. I wasted money on products I couldn't use. Thankfully, I have enough common sense to read the ingredient label myself before consuming anything. If I had trusted this app, the outcome could have been much worse.
Paying for a service that can't reliably perform its core function is absurd. From what it looks like, the information relies heavily on user submissions with little meaningful verification. That's not good enough when people's health is involved.
At this point, taking a picture of an ingredient label and asking AI tools to analyze it is more reliable than paying for this app. That's embarrassing.
The app feels less like a legitimate safety tool and more like a passive income stream for “wannabe influencers” who wanted to monetize an idea without putting in the work to make it dependable.
If the developers don't start taking accuracy seriously, then what is the app even useful for ? An app that gives users false reassurance (on several occasions) about allergens isn't just a bad product—it has the potential to lead to serious legal consequences if someone is harmed. Do better.

**Developer response:** Hi there! Thanks so much for your sharing your feedback, and I'm so sorry to hear about your experience 😌 we understand how important accuracy is, especially when it comes to food allergies, and we'd really appreciate the opportunity to investigate the products you encountered. If you could leave us feedback on the product via the "report an issue" button in the app or email us directly at support@foodisgood.com with the product names, our team will review them as quickly as possible.
Our team is made up of people with food allergies and dietary restrictions too, and we built Fig because we know firsthand how stressful navigating ingredient labels can be. We take accuracy very seriously and are continually working to improve the app. Fig is designed to be a second set of eyes while you shop, which is why we always encourage you to double-check the package label before purchasing or consuming a product.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback. Reports like yours help us make Fig better for everyone. 🙌💚

### 1/5 — Scammy!! DON’T DO TRIAL!!

*2026-07-11, version 4.151.3*

Just a heads up, don’t sign up for the free trial because even if you cancel it before the seven days they will continue to try and swipe the 70$ from your bank account!

I was thankfully able to block the daily attempts from this company trying to swindle 70$ from me but unfortunately even with EMAILING said company, I have NOT found a solution to end the constant harassment of their app trying to charge me daily.

Normally you would assume if a FREE trial has been prompted to end, that it would end that day and no charges to be made.
That was not the case here, and in fact it said that it wouldn’t “officially” end until next year.

I refuse to pay and don’t appreciate that canceling doesn’t cancel it.

I’d love to hear back from my email and have a solution presented, I’m tired of the daily attempted charges.
Writing this review was my last resort.

### 1/5 — Not worth the price

*2026-07-08, version 4.151.3*

I am not paying $69.99 a year for information I can get online for free!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Alpha Gal patient

*2026-08-19, version 4.157.0*

This app is probably the most helpful I’ve found when it comes to navigating alpha gal syndrome. They understand that it’s more than just a meat allergy and that is truly appreciated!! I can’t say enough good things about this app and the online support that is being put out there for this fairly new syndrome (new to my state and new to me). It makes shopping a lot easier and less stressful, I’ve also been able to save some cash in the store :) Thank you Fig!!!

### 5/5 — great app

*2026-08-18, version 4.155.0*

Time saving tool!

### 5/5 — Easier, Simple, Informative

*2026-08-09, version 4.154.5*

This app really helps you depict what foods you can use to substitute for a healthier life. Tracking is made easier, and you can figure out what ingredients are within the food you own by just taking a picture. Plus restaurants and recipe features. Whether you’re a pescatarian, vegan, or just going on a diet. Ordering and eating are made to be simple.

### 5/5 — Wonderful app!

*2026-08-08, version 4.154.5*

I am very new to having Alpha gal and was recommended this app by a friend who also has it! Not knowing what was safe to eat could have been detrimental to my health, however this app has been absolutely amazing in helping me to learn what is safe or not. Thank you for developing this so that myself and others can learn more!

### 5/5 — Best app for celiac

*2026-08-07, version 4.154.5*

This is the. Best app ever it helps me keep my daughter safe as a newly diagnosed celiac.

### 5/5 — Beyond excellent

*2026-07-31, version 4.153.0*

Fig has helped me on my new diet journey and weaves out all the stuff I should avoid! I love the feature where it allows you to add a product that’s not listed. Great app and encouraging to continue on a healthy journey!

### 5/5 — Life-saver!

*2026-07-28, version 4.153.0*

I love this app and this company! 100% ❤️

### 5/5 — Finding food made easy

*2026-07-23, version 4.153.0*

I’ve had stomach sensitivities for as long as I can remember. The Fig app has guided me through a full elimination diet, avoiding new trigger ingredients, and currently LowFODMAP. It’s so customizable, and makes finding food (and more importantly, snacks!) in the store a lot easier. I feel a lot less in the dark on finding what’s safe to eat, and feel a lot more hopeful about navigating new restrictive diets.

### 5/5 — Amazing App

*2026-07-20, version 4.152.0*

This app has been amazing for helping find foods that fit into my diet - so thankful for tools like this!
