With the procreate app you can dial it to the amount you need - drawing sometimes means you need more. Writing with it however, is a nightmare and our entire team use it to draw and annotate as it’s easier for us. But at this point I think I’ll probably avoid using the app until they update it and head back to procreate and share wireframes in a different way. Probably the first update where it feels like they’ve done bare minimum, usually FigJam/Figma updates are exciting. ### 2/5 — Frustrating unfortunately *2025-02-17* Super glitchy, and deleted my whole file after working on it so long. Will not be using it on iPad again. ### 2/5 — PLEASE add support for copy/paste images from other apps AND universal clipboard *2025-01-02* Maddening not being able to take screen shots or things from other apps and easily paste into FigJam. IE, can’t copy something from Apple’s Freeform and paste in FigJam. Usually, I am a fan, but not of this implementation. ### 2/5 — Close but just frustrating enough *2024-11-28* Text boxes span indefinitely across the screen and it’s difficult and unintuitive to resize it like a normal text box in literally any other application. Drawing strokes don’t allow options to be thin enough. No shortcut keyboard keys for hiding the gigantic tool bar or switching between tools. Definitely not for power users. Would much prefer the option to use Apple’s circular drawing tool menu on the new iPad / new pencil vs. the giant, clunky screen-engulfing fig jam tool bar. ### 2/5 — Awful iPad experience. *2024-11-24, version 24.11.0* App is glitchy in iPad compared to the desktop version. Drawing in Figjam is pretty bad compared to Apple's own whiteboard Freeform. while in the middle of drawing the tools stop working suddenly which is frustrating...making the app unusable on the iPad ### 3/5 — Mediocre Apple Pencil support *2024-10-22* I honestly only use this app because it’s what my business uses and that makes it convenient to share things. The lack of full support for the Apple Pencil is a huge turn off. I would much rather use a product that supports all of the Apple Pencil or Apple Pencil Pro features. ### 2/5 — Pencil drawing is slow *2024-10-16, version 24.11.0* Doesn’t match refresh rate of the ipad pro, or the apple pencil when drawing. ### 4/5 — Surprised *2024-06-27* I was a little out of my comfort zone, the only real reason I got this app is because I’m pretty sure Jamboard is being shut down, but it didn’t force me through a tutorial, and it was a fun minute or so to figure out(and be a little surprised by) the tools. ### 2/5 — Extremely buggy and hard to use on iPad *2024-06-13, version 24.11.0* The screen jumps around when tapping into larger boxes. Impossible to bring up the copy and paste options for text within boxes. Handwriting with the pen doesn’t work, but it hides the keyboard anyway. Very unintuitive and hard to use. Thought I would take my iPad to work while out of the house, but haven’t been able to do anything. ### 2/5 — Glitchy *2024-05-10, version 23.16.0* Tools stop working suddenly, its a frustrating experience compared to the desktop or browser version. ### 3/5 — Semi-sweet jam *2024-02-23* The app isn’t stable. Crashes frequently. Multi-select is sorely needed on iPad. If it’s there it’s not obvious. iPad mouse support to select text and text boxes would be super welcome too. However despite those criticisms the app is useful. Would love to see Figma produce an iPad app for Figma App too. Now that Adobe sale fell through sorry bout that for the $$$ but adobe would have ruined the product imo. Please bring data tables and real HTML dom components to Figma. In most cases we are designing for web apps so please make that part of the app experience. Last few comments really about Figma but I’ve been submitting that feedback for years so thought I’d try here too. ### 4/5 — Almost perfect *2024-01-16* I love using this app as a way to sketch ideas with my Apple Pencil before moving into Figma. However, something has changed recently and now when I use the marker, it “corrects” the lines I draw and smooths them out. It didn’t use to do this a few months ago, at least not as drastically. This can be really annoying, especially if I’m drawing or writing something precisely and it completely changes the look of it. (Example, I draw a straight line, the app “corrects” it and it becomes curved.) Searched web for a solution; found one; didn’t work. Found three or four other solutions, tried them all, did not work. Abruptly it allowed me to enter text. Then I opened another text box and it would only allow me to enter text in the first box, not the new one. Software should work. Users shouldn’t need to spend half an hour armwrestling your app before they can write the word “The.” And I was never able to write a word after “The.” ### 1/5 — Not compatible *2024-06-18, version 24.11.0* Wish it was cross platform and available on phones ### 1/5 — Issues with compatibility with Apple Pencil *2024-06-05, version 23.16.0* I’ve been trying to this this as a mind mapping app to expand on my notes for uni but I find I keep having problems with my Apple Pencil not drawing, it will continue to interact with icons and select things but won’t draw on the page. Closing the app and reopening it works but it’s a tiring process. This is a great app. But Apple's Freeform does the same thing and is Free. It lets me make really big concept maps without glitch and long loading time. Really amazing I think every college student should check it out!
