Localisation has been fixed in 4.3.1 so I’m writing a new review since I can’t update the review text.

There are some localisation issues with toggles labeled as “open/close” instead of “enabled/disabled” or “on/off” but that’s minor. 

The app does what I need which is to change the UAC mode, gain, and volume. 

I’ve loaded some custom equaliser via the web app so I can enable/disable/select EQ but the device buttons work ok instead. 

I’d rate it at 5 stars if I could play/pause/skip/rewind from the app as my BTR17 is sometimes connected to my windows PC for video/audio consumption and isn’t convenient to reach when away from the PC. 

A stretch would be to have the phone volume buttons work as remote volume control but I doubt this is possible on an iPhone.

I think this app always have the bugs and connection issues. Never a fluent and consistent app. My device connected to my phone but app not able to find my devices.

I use the FiiO Control app on an iPhone 14 Pro mainly to change settings like UAC, gain, and volume on my BTR17. A week ago, the status and audio pages only showed blank pages. Today I updated to version 4.3.0 and the status and audio pages are working again … but the labels for the controls are showing placeholder text instead of the control description e.g. title_screen_bright instead of Screen Brightness. Feels like a lack of code quality. Hope this can be fixed because I think the app works ok for me. 

It would be nice if I could control more in the app e.g. play, pause, next, previous, fast forward, rewind, etc.

The latest update breaks more than it enhances. Touching a slider ANYWHERE moves the slide at lightning speed. Then you must go into the advanced settings and try your setting there. But…for example… entering a 2.5 in the 8K freq turns the value back into 2.6 every time???? What is this? The FiiO hardware is first class. The apps is worse than bad. And…..this has been this way for years. YEARS! They just don’t read the reviews and listen to their customers regarding this app. And the latest update has changed freq in the presets. That stinks!!!! The upload and download in the app is broken. The login on the website is broken. The website doesn’t display the captcha image. A disaster for FiiO all the way around.

I was pleasantly surprised to learn my Snowsky Retro Nano has PEQ through this app. Take that, Apple, you can’t stop me from EQ-ing.

No issues connecting or setting up EQ, great!

Update: The app broke about a week after I started using it, but when I came here to update my review, Fiio had just released an app update that fixed everything, amazing.

Update 2: I bought a pair of Fiio EH13 bluetooth headphones, which also use this app, and honestly the only issue I’ve had is it doesn’t play nicely with multiple devices, but neither do the headphones, so with one device it’s just fine. Interface is clunky but the EQ turns the headphones from trash to gold, so I can’t complain.

I remember a few years ago this app used to be buggy, fail to connect/control device, and experience constant crashes when changing EQ settings. Now everything is intuitive and works FLAWLESSLY. This is such a great change especially after the screen on my BTR5 stopped working. Highly recommend using FiiO Control now.

I don’t understand why the ratings for this are so low. You want to only use this app when you have a connected a connected FiiO product when it’s turned on, otherwise the app functionally does nothing. With FiiO products though, the sound customizability is fantastic, and the headphone retains the tuning even when the app is closed. I’ve using this on a FiiO EH11 and I’ve tuned it to match the tuning of a Sennheiser HD600 with better extended bass and treble.
