This last update does not work at all. Pls bring a fruitful solution soon. ### 1/5 — Weak Security Implementation with Face ID *2024-04-24* While using the app, I have noticed that despite successfully authenticating with Face ID, the app still prompts for a password input. This security flaw undermines the effectiveness and convenience of using Face ID for authentication purposes. As a user, I expect that once Face ID has been successfully recognised, it should grant access to the app without requiring additional authentication steps. However, the current behaviour of File Explorer undermines this expectation and raises concerns about the overall security of the app. I urge the development team to review and address this issue promptly to ensure that the authentication process aligns with industry standards for security and usability. Implementing a robust authentication system that leverages Face ID effectively will enhance the overall security posture of the app and improve the user experience. ### 1/5 — USE-LESS *2023-12-30* This application is litteraly the iCloud Drive functionnality: stop wasting your privacy, storage and attention on this. But the implementation was a dead end. I got a blank screen with only a field to fill in call “filter”. Now what? With zero information about how to use this app it is totally useless. Just download a different app…” Wow, I feel like the developer should have offered a reason why he/she doesn’t have ANY explanation as to WHY they don’t have Privacy Policies, and not only leaves a door open to ALL your files, pictures, personal as well as private documents!!! Concerned… hope a better response will be posted because of this review from the dev. I really want to love this app! ### 1/5 — No Privacy Policy *2021-03-31* No Privacy Policy here in App Store or on the website. Notice that they have a “privacy policy” page on the website that DOES NOT contain information about how your data is collected and used. Here in the App Store: “The developer has not provided information to Apple” … Users need assurances that the Helper App does not expose their computer to a security concern, and that none of their personal info or files are sent out to others or accessed without consent. If this app or Helper App on computer collects any kind of data, please say so. Post the policy. If it can be remotely accessed, or calls home for instructions, or otherwise serves the developer or anyone else, that would be of great concern. The website also contains no info on the developer other than Twitter and email links. Even the “As seen in press” section is blank. Is this app safe to use? Does it encrypt the networking link with computer? Does it respect privacy and not send data out? Why isn’t there any info about its privacy policy and security designs? Update: poor response from dev. Commit to a privacy policy HERE ON APP STORE, commit to a policy to APPLE, be accountable, be clear! After initial evaluation, looks like this dev is untrustworthy and this software could open devices to a security risk. No info is provided on how security has been implemented for this server/client link. **Developer response:** 1. I do have privacy policy https://www.cherpake.com/privacy - and the link is available on the app page on the AppStore, and on my website. 2. The app collects some usage data that's not linked to your identity (also shown on the app page on the AppStore). 3. My website includes About section with info about me. 4. The app uses standard security practices, and it doesn't call home or sends any of your data to anyone. ### 1/5 — Absolute Garbage *2020-09-25, version 2020.2* Doesn’t work at all. We are on the same WiFi network. I want my money back ### 1/5 — Absolute crap *2020-08-13* Bought this piece of junk app; downloaded the Mac Helper app and installed it on my Macbook Pro; opened the App on my iPad Pro and went to open the Macbook HD and other folders and they all came up as empty. Tried to connect a second time and got the screen message to download the Mac app. Take your money and rip it into little pieces and you will be better off. At least you will have the little pieces instead of nothing. **Developer response:** For anyone reading this review: got an email from this guy saying "read my review". Explained that reviews take time to be visible on the AppStore, and suggested to send me a screenshot. Got another email: "I don't particularly care for anyone suggesting I am lying. How do I know you are who you say you are? How do I know that you are not some fraud? Here, take this screenshot and shove it. I have been an Apple customer for over 40 years and I don't need to take any crap from the likes of you. I will be deleting your apps and putting together a short synopsis of our interaction. I am surprised Apple would do business with someone who treats their customers so shabbily and insultingly. I intend to let them know my thoughts. Seems to me my emails didn't contain any insults at all, but was misinterpreted. Und auch diese hier ist super, weil sie tatsächlich so funktioniert, wie man es erwartet… anders als so manche Konkurrenzprodukte.
