### 2/5 — Disappointing

*2018-10-29, version 1.23*

I was trying to change TIFF/Orientation attribute of images, every time I set the value and Apply changes, it hides the UI element for that attribute, and the file doesn't seem to have it written. Clunky and buggy?

### 3/5 — Some bugs

*2017-04-04, version 1.23*

The program spoils the quality of PNG image files, when I added properties, the image quality changed. Is any update comming soon?

### 3/5 — Works well but would benefit from some improvement

*2017-02-18, version 1.23*

Used it to change file create and edit dates on 400+ photos - worked OK except
I had to buy in-App purchase to unlock the app to amend Picture properties and this resulted in all the create and edit dates changing back to today’s date.
I tried changing the create and edit dates and also the meta-data on the picture properties tab but only one tab can be amended at one pass.
Ended up by changing the file create and edit dates again after chaning all the picture meta-data that needed amending.

Not a big deal but an improvement would be nice - it did save a huge amount of time editing the meta data on so many pictures with multiple fields.

### 1/5 — Cheap tricks

*2016-06-25, version 1.2*

Do not download. Free download is trial only. You can NOT modify any files. Unless you want to waste $10 to experiment if this app even works, I recommend you find other alternative apps.

### 1/5 — Poor UI

*2016-06-14*

POOR POOR User Interface. There isn’t even a Save button once you put in the updated EXIF info. Don’t download this piece of crap.

### 1/5 — Absolute garbage

*2016-06-04, version 1.2*

Horrible app, can’t do anything without purchasing the extra add ons

### 1/5 — Poor User Interface, few instructions, just not helpful

*2016-05-31*

I should have read the reviews since this is a bait and switch. It is listed as free but you cannot actually make any changes until you pay. I couldn’t even test the program to see if it would do what I wanted. Pity Apple allows this in their App Store.

### 1/5 — Cannot save changes for free

*2016-03-31, version 1.2*

Saving even the most basic properties of a jpg requires a $7.99 in app purchase. This looks like it could be a great program but as it stands it's little more than a demo.

### 1/5 — Pity I cannot give it a ZERO

*2016-02-27*

This is waste of bits- you cannot exit anything unless you pay - which might be OK if it was advertised.

### 1/5 — Horrible Fraud of an app

*2016-02-05*

This app is not free. It does NOTHING unless you pay money. They’ll let you download it for free, you can even spend time chaning the values that you’re looking to edit. But then when you go to save the output file, they ask you to fork over $10. Apple should ban apps like this.

### 1/5 — Big Fail on batch

*2026-07-30*

First off, I tried to go to the website for support but whatever you push on the website just redisplays the web page with no help. I have the $10 paid version, I tried a simple batch change of album name for 8 files. It said it was successful for 8 files yet it only changed one. This product does not work and there is no one to ask for help. Don’t use/buy. Have requested a refund. We’ll see if apple screws me also.

**Developer response:** Sorry to hear that, we have updated our support url, you can submit support ticket there.
Also, for batch edit multiple files, please use the batch edit button next to the save button, it will save the props to all files in the list, please let us know if anything else we can help, thanks!

### 1/5 — Says FREE but it wants $9.99 to save any changes. Bad form.

*2022-04-10, version 1.23*

Says FREE but it wants $9.99 to save any changes. Bad form.

### 1/5 — In-app purchases

*2021-09-19*

Not listed as having in-app purchases, but it does have in-app purchases. And it doesn't do MP3 tag editing without a purchase.

### 1/5 — Paid for image editor and it does NOT work

*2020-05-30, version 1.23*

I hate that Apple see fit to allow such items, 3 years since an update and no checks to see if it is offering value to Apple users. Apple allow it to remain on sale when they DO NOT WORK! This is robbery so STOP allowing it to happen.

### 1/5 — Hard to use, and not really a Mac app

*2020-05-09*

Clearly built on some other stack, like Java or Electron or QT or something. Doesn't act like a Mac app at all; can't even drag a file to the dock icon to open it.

Can't edit multiple files at once, can't use a keyboard shortcut (like ⌘O) to open/edit a file... just unintuitive and clunky all over.

### 1/5 — Free version doesnʼt work for me

*2019-06-07*

Iʼm looking for a simple utility to change the title of a mp4 file. This isnʼt it, and Iʼm not willing to spend $9.99 for a version that works. Iʼd be better off learning how to do it in Terminal. At least then Iʼd have reliability.

### 1/5 — Sadly...

*2019-04-14, version 1.23*

It does'nt work.

### 1/5 — ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS!!!!!

*2019-02-13*

Even though I paid the $9.99 for media properties, this app doesn't even show them for the audio files I've selected, let alone offer the ability to edit them! This is a total rip off! How is this even allowed in the App Store???

### 1/5 — Works well until I did in app purchase

*2017-11-27, version 1.23*

Downloaded to update some MP4 file attributes but once I purchased the facility via the in app purchase the app just crashes on opening. A shame as it had the potential to be a really good app.

### 1/5 — Not very useful

*2016-07-15*

Not useful for me since it can’t tag several images at once. Need to select each file separately.

### 5/5 — Feature request

*2026-08-28*

Can you add a dedicated section to manipulating templates? Whenever I save a template I just created, even though I have only one box checkmarked, nearly all file attributes are saved. So that overwrites the modification time, permissions, etc to all files that I apply an album name formula to. It would also be nice to have the ability to quickly select from templates or custom formulas that we apply to only one file. Maybe I haven't figured it out, but it seems that either have to modify one file or all files that are currently in the list. It would be great to select these.

I'm meaning, that it would be nice to be able to create a template and select fields I want to add a formula to from scratch. Not having to modify a preset or create one from the currently selected fields.

Thanks, awesome app. Best I've found in the App Store

(This is on ios by the way)

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for the kind words and constructive feedback!

You've highlighted two great points that we are addressing immediately in our upcoming update:

Preset & Template Field Isolation: When saving a template, it will now strictly save only the specific fields you explicitly checkmark, preventing any unintended attribute overwrites (like file modification dates or permissions) on other files.
Dedicated Template Studio (Build from Scratch): We are introducing a standalone Template Builder where you can create presets from scratch, add/remove any metadata field across Audio, EXIF, PDF, and Attributes, and configure formulas without needing to load or modify an existing file first.
Targeted Multi-File Selection & Single File Quick Apply: You will be able to select specific subsets of files via checkboxes on iOS to batch process, as well as apply any template or formula directly to a single file with one tap.

Thank you for helping make FilePropertyEdit even better. Stay tuned for this update!

### 5/5 — It did exactly what I needed

*2022-08-07*

This is a simple but power batch metat data editor and it works perfectly. Just pay the $10!

### 5/5 — Work Just Fine....

*2022-05-23*

The other reviewers don't seem to be reading the discription. This app deserves a much better rating than given. It did exactly what I bought it for. And YES, you need internet when you use it unless you have paid for the app. Then it doesn't require internet any more.

Thanks for a great, easy and affordable product.

### 5/5 — Finally!

*2020-02-27, version 1.23*

So simple & helpful: One file "infects" others with its date & time! I was looking for such an app for many years, but couldn't find one on the Mac App Store.

### 5/5 — My Saviour

*2018-07-10*

Wow .. What an App!!! I had recorded some videos on a GoPro camera equivalent for about a week. Little did I realise that every time a changed the battery, the camera date and time stamp would be reset to 01.01.2018.

When I downloaded the one week of recording clips to my iMovie , all the clips got jumbled up.

Though I manually sorted them n finder, however I struggled a lot to arrange them in chronological order. File renaming in series did not help either. This app turned out to be my saviour and I could easily adjust the date and time using series adjust feature.

Thanks .. You saved my day.

### 4/5 — Hard to use, but helpful.

*2018-06-25*

I’m a professional photographer and I messed up by setting both of my cameras to the same time in terms of numbers, but one was AM and the other was PM. This meant the entire day was out of order. Thankfully after some quick tinkering in this app it was as if the problem never happened. Only reason it’s 4 instead of 5 stars is that the UI is really difficult to use.

### 4/5 — When you need it, it’s wonderful

*2018-06-13*

This app can be a lifesaver. If you need to edit file properties on one or a bunch of files this app will do exactly that. The user interface does a few things in non apple standard way so I give it 4* not 5. Here is an example of my need. Somehow mac OS managed to change the creation date on several hundred files in a project and them equal to modification date. That made sorting files ugly for me. But the EXIF data and the GPS data were not corrupted. I could set the creation dates on all the files to be the EXIF Digitized Date (the REAL creation date) as a fast batch job. WHEW! What a lifesaver!

I found several other uses. If you still remember your Unix command lines, and love scripting, you can get by without this tool. Maybe. If you are a mere mortal this app might be a Godsend. You might have to actually read the manual and still play around a bit. The hover descriptions are pretty good even if the icons are not always obvious.

### 4/5 — Very flexible, free app!

*2016-03-21, version 1.2*

This app is very flexible and allows you to make *a lot* of different modifications to file metadata.

Unlike another reviewer, I was able to make the changes I wanted to (updating JPEG files’ creation/modification dates/times to the dates/times in the files’ EXIF data) without paying a penny.

There are a few UI glitches which the developer might wish to fix - otherwise, a first-class product!

### 3/5 — Some features are not working

*2026-07-02, version 3.1*

It could be a great app if batch date operations were functioning.

### 3/5 — Bugs

*2018-03-31, version 1.23*

The concept is great in itself, where you get the abiltiy to change the file time for free. It helped when my family went on a trip and one of our devices’ timestamps were off by a number of timezones. The adjustments helped there. However, you have to toggle the file too often for the time editing to populate. If you drag a chunk of files, for some reason one file does not get updated when executing the changes. Patience it key; and, thankfully, I don’t have to do this often.
